The Liberation Front (Front de libération/Fronte di Liberazione/Befreiungsfront) is a coalition of a variety of militant freedom-fighter groups. First record of its establishment would be right after the war. According to the stories, the Liberation Front was founded and forged by remnants of NATO forces and individual figures like Dr. Jacob Foster. The Pre-war military units, the 23rd French Infantry Regiment, 345th German Paratrooper Battalion, Swiss Gendarmeries and Italian Borderguards would become the fundamental pillar of the Liberation Front.
NATO troops - a majority of them Italian, French, German - but also American troops stationed in Europe prior to the invasion would make their way to the sanctuary of the Swiss cantons and the natural barriers of the Alps. Only a few hundred remained from regiments and brigades that once had been thousands of men strong as encoded transmissions were broadcasted across NATO channels along with a message in French, German, English, Italian, Polish, Spanish and a whole variety of languages.

These NATO remnants would go underground to continue the struggle, utilizing the Cold War operational tactic of the “Free War” - an unconditional irregular liberation war against the occupant. Throughout the years, the group has expanded tremendously, with its influence stretching across all of Southern France, across the Swiss cantons and the natural barriers of the Alps and northern Italy up to the eastern edge of the Po valley. They would not be alone however, in the early chaos following the occupation of Earth..
The Conspiracy of Foster, 2005
Some people would say that the officalization of the organisation was made in early 2005. Dr. Jacob Francis Youll, a collaborator and quisling - but also a secret sympathiser to the cause and the Front itself. Serving as a viceroy to the Combine occupant, he was a well-known Administrative figure of his time. But it would be his betrayal that would shock the world. Dr. Jacob Francis Youll would become the tie between the dislodged west and east. With the growth of a remnant underground state in Europe, the situation has been entirely different in the east. There, a secret protocol signed between the Communist Party of China and the Republic of India had emerged into a full-scale insurgency. The First Culling would prove how brutally the Combine would truly go in controlling humanity, as the Sino-Indian uprising - more or less continous to this day, eventually would be smothered in its crib.
Dr. Jacob Francis Youll would tie the west and east together in an unlikely alliance, against a united enemy. His own participation in the plot would emerge early 2005 as he, during his service as the City Administrator of City 45, Bangladesh. There, his actions would spark the knowledge of the Front's existance to the Combine. During an experiment in the City Nexus, Dr. Jacob Francis Youll is said to have sabotaged it, causing a quantum-physical explosion on an unprecedented scale, wiping most of the City and its occupational garrisons. Thanks to Dr. Jacob Francis Youll, an evacuation order had been directed by him for the city's inhabitants without arousing suspicion. In a masterful stroke, the Doctor had shown example of a true martyr as he sacrificed himself to the Cause, while still managing to efficiently co-ordinate a moral evacuation. But his demise also proves that the occupation will last - as the enemy is simply too strong. The only way to survive is to adapt to the new world and its dystopian nightmare.
The Conspiracy of Doctor Jacob Francis Youll would serve as an example, becoming a near-mythological propaganda piece, used by most of Humanity's active resistance networks. His deeds had unified the West with the East, old enemies becoming friends. In a mind of unfettered delibration.
