I.
From the heavens, the Universal Union arrived. It appeared to most people as if it were some biblical act, incapable by any civilization, no matter how advanced. Within a day, the entirety of Earth was brought into one entity. A swift, and violent entrance into the new age for all of Humanity. Suddenly, all the states of the world were brought into one. A global state under the dominion of the Union. Yet, there are those who claim this to be unnatural, inhuman. As if they forget every king, who sought to conquer his neighbors realm, damned be the cost in bloodshed, treasure lost or cities burnt to the ground; The general, who has lead millions to die in battle, and razed entire nations to occupy the land of the enemy; As if they forget the prince who orchestrates diplomatic and subversive actions against those who stand between his and his nation's interests; The conqueror who has marched across continents, and slain innumerable foes in battle to build his immortal legacy.
It is as if the enemies of the union forget all these figures and archetypes, that throughout the millennia of all human existence have dreamed of, or accomplished similar goals to our Union.
Our planet has now been brought under the Universal Union for years. A single state, a single engrossing earthly nation has emerged as part of the Universal Union's vast territories. Though a distinct, planetary entity, one where we see human representatives administrating each city, as if it were the old world.
Within a day, we found ourselves with a new path, perhaps one that was coming for many centuries. This created for us, a new chance to advance our society, nation and state both culturally and politically. Our Glorious benefactors have provided a chance for us to become masters of our own fate. With this, there have come new leaders, and groups which try to dominate thought and action for their vision of a unified earth. In this crowd of ideologues and their followings, few harness the spirit and conviction, necessary to direct the new planetary state. In our governments, there are many administrators, but few leaders.
But what besides totally unity, have our benefactors brought us? Some ask this question. Their notions are that this development in our entire, human society is negative for our progress. That the Union arriving has brought nothing but destruction.
But the truth of our recent history, and in fact, all of mankind, are that Damages come and go with every major age of humanity. All of man has collapsed and been re-built several times over. There are a number of times when it seems all of mankind has ended, and the story was finished. Only for man to re-emerge stronger, and more wise.
It was not without millions of deaths that each bronze age society collapsed thousands of years ago. The populations of great empires like those of the Akkadians, Phoenicians and Babylonians faced roving armies of marauders, having their cities sacked and burned to the ground. The end of Antiquity was not without the death, enslavement, rape and displacement of all those who would have been considered to be living in civilized society. The Roman empire; one of the largest, and certainly most influential empire in the west had collapsed, and it now only remains in our history and traditions. Innumerable decades of knowledge, skill and thought have been lost to time from man's violent nature. The reformation came not without great wars and massacres of protestants and Catholics between once unified brothers in faith. And our old world era. The capitalist and liberal dark age, did not come without centuries of revolutions, enslavement, genocide and vicious coups in the name of those who were once puppeteers of modern, pre-union society.
But from these ashes, a new page in man's ever extending history marched into our conscious. With the coming of our benefactors, they have brought many advancements. Some of the most advanced technology, to rebuild cities in mere weeks. Each and every man has had their debts erased. All those who stepped into the new era, previously owing their life's work to others, no longer face the predation of usury. Each slave is unshackled and emancipated from their toil. All current, and coming wars have been halted in a day. All of earths riches and bread have been pooled to a unified planet, effectively ending starvation for all those loyal and willing to work. Petty political turmoil has been put behind all of us. These are only a few of the things that the union has brought. Though many living in the cities are too dull to take advantage of the position they inherited. Instead of an active, productive existence, many choose to fight against their fellow man in a fight to return to a period before the Union. We were given the space, time and security brought to us by the benefactors so we can create great works. But some see man's finely crafted future and choose, in their small minded ways, to knock it over and shatter it.
II.
"What else is the thirst for glory, the desire that our name may be celebrated among men who will speak of our time as ancient, but the hope that in our writings and our deeds we have performed our part perfectly; that we have written what the universal spirit of humanity, rather than our own private bias, dictated, and served the deepest interests of all men in our actions?"
It would be logical to differentiate man from the beasts of the earth, to all those but the most extreme anti-anthropocentrists. We accept this to be so, on the grounds of what we can observe within nature and the societies built by humankind. The actions of plants and animals are not determined by any complex theory, or planned governance, but by purely acting biological drivers, chemicals and sensory based actions which direct their behavior to survive and gather in groups. But man possesses something more than this.
When gathered in groups larger than their family, or tribe, something more than the material is realized. One cannot feel, or measure any difference in matter when humans comes together to form a group. Men do not become anything different when they assemble into a group larger than themselves or their tribe. They do not physically alter their blood or genetics. It is merely the perception in their own mind that they can see themselves as a group. It is perception from mans own mind which binds him to others to create a collective conscious, a spirit. When this spirit is harnessed, and man acts upon it, great things are achieved.
Contrary to beasts of nature, The mind of man posses an ideal. A visualized, and theorized collective where their outcomes and life quality are maximized, how their life ought to be. Through this ideal, higher forms of organization occur within mankind. Through this, man advances past tribes and atomized bonds of blood towards a larger vision, a grand potential future. These collectives, larger than the biological instinct we ascribe to animals and savage beasts, we label nations. Within these collective nations, man is observed separating himself from beast through thought and act. Wherein, he surrenders some autonomy, and takes part in something more than what is material, what is savage. Through his joining to this nation, he receives a shared language with his fellow nationals; something he can use to spread ideas, concepts and myths; document deeds, discoveries or stories to be passed down. He receives the wisdom and skills of his fellow nationals to conquer physical and intellectual obstacles. Whether through their produced tools or their knowledge, this is near always more advanced, and a superior form of collective than any tribal organization of mere biological instinct, evidenced by history where ninety nine times of the one hundred, a nation conquers a tribe and not the reverse.
It is from these nations that man may realize a state. The state, in its most ideal form shall protect the liberties of each individual that lives with it and follows it. It shall protect the material and intellectual advancements each individual within a nation has produced, in order to not see the progress of a culture be lost to time and degraded by internal or external threats. The state, to truly be a liberating force for good must be a realization of a national people, and not a force descending upon them from above. It will benefit the people of a nation not to merely tolerate the authority of the state that is created to govern, but from their collective spirit and will, they shall form the state which is so intimate with their nation and with their own individual spirit. That shall be it's ultimate goal, not a mere tool to direct and dictate masses, but a corpus which a higher collective can find meaning in becoming part of. Through this meaning, and through this synthesis where the individual becomes the state, man is able to realize a future beyond short term survival, or a pursuit for petty pleasures.
The preconceived notions of such terms like state and nation can illicit a strong reaction. From those demanding to be unique and valuable in their uniqueness, to anarchists who wish to abolish the foundations of states which all advanced human society was built on, for so called "liberty". But is it not the state which provides these individuals the means to express a notion of "uniqueness", using the language, arts, and culture made possible by a state which has preserved them to be enjoyed as the fruits of man's labor many generations before his? Is it not the protection of individual liberties by this state which prevents the harsh realities of tribalism and nature from forcing it's elements upon the individual, where without it, their options are to follow the herd or die? Without such direction, preservation or defense from threats, the life of man is short, rife with meaningless suffering and violent with no legacy. It is but a life spent struggling to survive, only to inevitably die and be entirely forgotten.
From a powerful, unified culture with a strong synthesis combining the culture, nation, individual and state, man can discover vitality, and meaning. As man's culture is preserved, and their collective willpower harnessed, man is able to develop discipline, art, culture and great schools of thought which they can found potentially infinite ideas upon, expanding the reaches of knowledge. It is through the state which it is possible to immortalize the deeds of great men who stood up for their nation; great men who found meaning by serving the needs of their state and fellow man and suffered to the human extent of suffering in order to overcome obstacles and finally triumph.
As the Union has arrived to earth, they have brought with them the gift of a new perception. In their very direct ways, they bring an element of this national unity through perceiving man as one body. The stability of earth is the health of this body, and any threats to it's stability are malignant elements. To adopt and embrace the idea of a unified body among a nation is not new. It is merely on a new scale. Once small, numerous nations around the world have now become one earthly nation under our benefactors. A nation where most resources are available. In the contemporary life, man has much time to improve himself. Our benefactors only ask of us to occasionally fight, or work to serve earth. Much like the demands of our old world leaders were, though even less strenuous. Food, currency, healthcare and housing is all provided. But what is lacking is the spirit, and true unity among man. To realize what the union puts in front of us, Man must come together, and join in synthesis with his nation, with his state. Reject weakness and distractions while embracing their discipline. The Beautiful Human rebirth is only possibly through the willpower of man, and has been facilitated by the coming of the Union.
Through this spiritual conception of a unified human nation, man must view himself not as an individual standing by himself, and separated from all others. But as one with his people, benefactors and state. This path demands that man engages in conquering the struggles of life with all his energies. To rebuild himself, and make sacrifices for the good of the unified human spirit. Man must conquer himself, and any elements which demand his separation from the human spirit. For this spirit is him, his nation, and his homeland. Thus he is his nation, his homeland and his state. The true Union man is one who is conscious of the difficulties and risks that exist in action, ready to face them. The true Union man is one who is always active. For these groups, nations, states and collective spirits, derive from man's own mind and perception. If the mind were to stop working, it would mean death. Conclusively, one who becomes inactive and stagnant in his own nation is dead, a necrotic part of the collective. This is not to say dying in sacrifice to one's nation is not necessary or important, but quite the opposite. A man who sits down each day, doing nothing to serve the human state or sacrifice himself for it is one who is the spiritual death of his nation.
To borrow words from Friedrich Hegel "If you want to love, you must serve, if you want freedom, you must die."
III.
In some cities, old world politics and outdated ideas have crept into the conscious of people's minds. In the case of the author's current home city, Geneva, city 24, there are a number of anti-civil elements which go against the basic philosophies of the Union. Some of the ideas posed by those within the city may not appear to be a direct sentiment against the Union, but their consequences are in direct opposition to humanity's progress towards total spiritual unity.
Within the political realm, those few anti-citizens who have some form of coherent ideology almost always wish to revert to old world, failed ideologies. Some ideas which have been rife with corruption, and those which support demagoguery. While most unite under the guise of vague "freedom" and "justice" slogans, along with basic demands, all they offer, that our union does not, is terrorist attacks upon the city, and always target civilian infrastructure, as they did with rationing facilities and housing; targets that only bring suffering to those wishing to work and live. These cowardly attacks run contrary to what the true Union man must be. A self sacrificing, and dedicated servant to mankind, for his union. While in the slums of the city, those who denounce the union live as pigs, devouring the muck and stagnant water. The most noble of them have a goal to ignore the rest of mankind and rot around fire barrels as an atomized individual. While the rest scramble to arm themselves in order to attack the soldiers of our union, and those who work to serve their fellow man; in order to satisfy a savage blood lust. These opponents of the Union are action for the sake of action. Any drop of theory behind their cries is there to justify their swine-like lifestyle and violence. Any citizens venturing into the slums should arm themselves with the theory, criticism and knowledge gained before considering the madmen who dictate the radical groups hiding in the filth of the city.
One prevailing idea among those that are literate and at least somewhat coherent in opposition to the Union, is the ideals of old world liberal democracy. An ideal where the majority rule simply on the fact of them being a majority. The notion that every individual deserves to rule and choose rulers without questioning their ability for such a role. These ideas of democracy are just a regime with not one king, but many kings. Perhaps more exclusive and tyrannical than one king, even though a tyrant. Furthermore, such ideals break the unified ideal for a human nation with the self interested nature of the majority.
Such ideas run opposite to what is valuable to the human spirit. While individuals may form classes according to their interests, syndicates according to their economic activities within these interests; they first form the State. Which must not be thought of as the sum of it's parts; or each individual person who is part of the State, but as one unified body, under the Union.
One other such class of inherently anti-civil action, are those of the idle, the self interested and ignorant. There is the citizen who remains still, doing the bare minimum work they can to collect resources provided to them by the union with no drive to better themselves or their fellow man. They cannot call themselves a proper member of Union society. There is the profiteer, who's only interest is to devour, in their individualistic greed, resources which can serve the whole of the collective human corpus. They have no concern for anything which may not benefit them directly. They cannot call themselves a servant of the the earth, or the Union. There is the aristocrat, who withdraws their private life away from the people and retires on their status, keeping their energy from the rest of the state. They cannot call themselves loyalists.
The true Union man, loyal to his benefactors and to the human spirit, is one who shall work, fight and sacrifice to advance the Union. To embolden man's collective spirit. The true Union man must be active in rooting out those who seek to sell idleness, bouts of pleasure, and divisiveness for the animalistic, self interested mind. He must call out and fight those who wish to regress man kind's progress. If they were to get their way, the state of man would revert from the cusp of a global spirit to what it once was. One can only picture what would happen if these various groups were to somehow succeed. Earth would turn to a period of warlords and impoverishment. Where each of these various anti-citizen groups turn on each other, for their lust of blood and power will not be sated with the removal of our Union. This is not fantasy, but history. The leaders of each of these groups would soon turn on each other, no longer bound by their notion of being a common enemy to the Union, as it is not present. What is to follow but the destruction of industry, culture and millions upon millions of lives. Destruction which cannot be recovered so easily, due to the nature of these radical, individualistic tyrants.
They must be rooted out because the enemies of man do not linger in the sun. Once they do, the light of the Union SHALL BURN THEM.
