The Optimates​


"Optimates" - The Aristocrats.

The Optimates is one of the governing parties of District 7, with their influence touching other districts too. Their promise is simple: create order from chaos. Bring structure to this city, and make City Thirteen a shining beacon of Humanity.

The Optimates believe that the best way to achieve this is through the social ladder. Thankfully, the Combine has given them easy access to the tools to do so. They favor Collaborators, the State, and those who work to uphold order.

Corruption is not tolerated. Nor are attempts to subvert the State's authority.

Ideology​


Classism & Conservatism. Those two C's are what The Optimates are - although their opponents call them a different C-word.

Sometimes known as The Conservatives, The Optimates will push through order in The Assembly. They will aim to get their people in, and grant privileges to those they deem friends - or simply those of higher status.

The poor will be fed, only as much as is needed to extract value from them. The homeless will be sheltered… if they contribute to the workplace, of course.

Points of Contention​


Civil Protection
Our protectors. Their efforts are valiant - they ensure our law is upheld and keep the riff-raff from our doorstep. However, their leaders sometimes forget their place is to serve The Assembly and The State. Sometimes, they need reminders.

Civil Medical Union
Our doctors. Their life-saving skills are invaluable to us - without them, every scratch becomes a festering wound. However, some of them prefer to aid those who seek to do us harm. They must be cauterized.

UBC
Our bureaucrats. Their numerical literacy ensures that not a single credit goes unaccounted for. They ensure the numbers add up - and more than that, they ensure people are housed, stores are manned, and the district is running. However, some of them use their position for personal monetary gain. They must be audited.
