This needs to be discussed. The admins and GMs showed clear disregard and lack of care for the OSF's characters, and kept us entirely in the dark about the fates of our characters. We were forced into either death or Rebellion, the latter of which the majority of OSF didn't want. Due to Sneeding and one or two more outliers, people just randomly assumed the OSF are just a gang of rebels, so why not force them into Rebellion? Well, the majority did not want anything to do with being a rebel, we all had our own separate plans post OSF- Some would just continue their lives, some may join ranks of Civil Protection or other arms of the Combine, and some may want to rebel. We all had our own plans.

The staff and GMs used OSF as a plaything, and when they got bored of making events for us they just cast us aside, characters and all. We have all just been effectively handed and OOC "fuck you" signed personally from Willard Staff. So far, my Willard Experience just feels like getting fucked over, over and over again by higher up's OOC decisions. We didn't get a choice, if we didn't show up to the event we get punished, and we did and just stood around doing nothing. And to thank us for showing up and doing nothing, we get the "choice" of death or rebellion.

I get the Combine don't care about the individual- but it seems like staff and GMs don't, either.

Its true, the GM's fr just forced us to be rebels, with no alternative other then to lose our chars anyway.
Aka transhumanization. I'd say more, but omega basically summed up everything I would've said. But longer.

Does transhumanization equal ota whitelist or stalker whitelist?

Idk, don't change the fact all we can do is sit in nexus (and not even log on them unless a certain something is going on or if its Marginal/Fractured)

Aight, Also Man OSF Should Be Active In Marginal/Fractured

In theory it would equal an OTA whitelist, however it’s still just destroying the character and removing their personality. If someone chose this, it’d be different, but they didn’t. Only two of us got selected for transhumanization, while the remaining 10 or so members were slated for execution.

Fr, I didn't even fire more than 200 rounds throughout the main part of the event - 90% of that was suppressive fire, I had an M249.

There was nothing, and both of the Officers basically forced us to fail our objective, saying it was fine and then acting all suprised the Combine were pissed off (when OOCly of course at least of of them knew we were fucked if we failed the objective). A soldier isn't supposed to disobey their commanders, so we stood around doing fuck all until:
- Everyone was fired upon by the OTA and a fucking gunship (very unbalanced to have NPCs like that in the event).
- I miraculously survived after S2K was enabled (OSF W).

Forum DM me the Discord & Forum Names of everyone who attended the event as OSF. This is not a guarantee.

Well, I was selected for it; I was going to be turned into a Combine Soldier (I escaped by starting an OOC protest and then ICly did some shit).

I mean, we are dealing with the consequences of what happened in an expedition in the future. But sure.

That's just events in WN in general not being that great tbh, at least military ones. You can't really fault staff for speedrunning an endgame mission for a faction that, by all means, could have been removed anytime during the past year of retarded drama.

This is why Im always ranting about OSF\MAA having to be proper conscripts, the endgame always defaults to the same "going rogue to avoid transhumanisation" storyline, but for some reason everyone insists on sticking to a faction of loyalist volunteers until it stops making sense completely.

I think the idea of an event faction only being used for events is fine but when they were brought to the main server, mingling with the other players and even having the faction itself written into a piece of legislation, I think calling it an event faction at that point is an understatement.

The OSF has never had the best reputation but I think only having the two options of, die or rebel is goofy. I also hate the idea that transhumanization is presented as somehow better than dying, it's essentially swapping out your developed and interesting character for a generic OTA solider, here's a secret hot Shorty Story members don't want you to know, it's really a PK. Though there are many things to go into as to why the event may or may not have made players happy, I think I'll let this screen shot from Dog explain what most players were wanting.Capture.PNG

I ain't reading all that. But, they should have killed them off or did this way closer to V3. Cause now they gotta wait for like 2 years.

From @Asimo1234 himself, he said we might have to wait at least a month for him to even get the expedition set up, cause when he tries seeing who’d help him, he got minimal reactions.

You don’t get a free OTA whitelist because your character was ICly turned into a transhuman.
So, even less of a reason to take that option, then? Just a big ole “fuck you”, where you don’t even get to reap the minor benefits.

good. Bad faction.

All seriousness the finale event could’ve been a lot better, but hopefully that’s changed with the upcoming expedition, I’ll be helping out with it alongside rad-x (I believe)

I can understand the frustration but like @afibon said, The OSF was a hub for weird tribalism/drama which by all rights should have gotten them axed almost a year ago.

Being a conscript should have never been a main-server thing beyond "You do your time in some events and that's a cool arc for your loyalist character". Instead the OSF got made into a full Gmod ARMA RP faction.

As someone in OSF, it feels like most of the “tribalism” you talk about is due to everyone shitting on this faction because of one member who’s annoying, then shitting on everyone in the faction. This tends to make the people in the faction band together to have each other’s backs (go figure).

And because the admins made this choice to allow them on main, and players made this decision to play this way, it’s just completely fine to brush every player involved to the side? And when we rightfully complain about getting treated OOCly like shit it’s just “Well your faction’s dumb”. It’s not player’s fault for picking a play style the server allows, and how big of a deal being in OSF was entirely up to staff and CT. We didn’t need armbands in the main city, but we got them. Is this because the players in the faction forced it into existence, or because staff and faction leads make these decisions, then act high and mighty when you see these armbands, inquire more, and possibly join the OSF on that character.

Most of OSF’s members were literally already living the way you described. The majority of us were just normal loyalists who’d happen to be shipped out. There was no ArmaRP or whatever bullshit people always say about OSF. Any of the military RP aspects were kept to events. Every other day, we were Raffaele at the Italian kitchen, or Felix by the slums, or Nicole in Victory, or Douglas in Siemens. We were all characters, just like the average citizen. We chose to sign up for an event, just to be forced into losing the character.

It’s less like axing the OSF and more like axing all of our characters simply because they don’t want to think of actually creative things to do.

So far, 3 people for a 3-4 day expedition from Norway to Lyon/Geneva…

This expedition is never gonna happen
