Pre-existing lore with the Patriots.	DISTRICT NINE - FALLOUT.
In the days and months following the Seven Hour War, the scattered remnants of the United States Military alongside a plethora of citizens wishing to fight, began to organize. What came of this effort was The Patriots, a band of resistance cells operating across the United States. The Patriots have generally operated clandestinely in their efforts to subvert the Combine across cities internally. However, they seem extremely brazen externally. With a favourable knowledge of the countryside, the Patriots often carry out acts of guerilla warfare against The Combine by hitting patrols, convoys, and infrastructure. Their actions in City One, New York, where they bombed and destroyed the Manhattan Nexus, testify to their style of warfare. Generally, the Combine have strayed away from confrontation as M.M.A. defections are extremely common when fighting against The Patriots. As such, terror bombing has become slightly familiar in New England as the Combine may successfully or unsuccessfully blindly bomb huge forests and other zones they suspect The Patriots are operating in. This has also led to an increased sense of paranoia as Combine patrols and convoys are commonly hit. While the Patriots operate all across the Eastern United States, their home base of operations is supposedly near Buffalo, New York. From here, they have attempted to subvert the Combine all across America but, most importantly, the Combine in New York. It's also reported in this area, they hold an ample supply of American equipment such as M4s, Abrams Tanks, and aerial strike craft, though this may be a rumour.	Following the ongoing efforts of the Patriots in western countries, with constant bombardment from combine forces even into the later years of the occupation, it's previously held communications and organisation started to cause individuals to fall off the edge to run their operations in different areas of the world; typically due to third-party incidences such as citizenship relocation or being forced out of a country by unwilling forces. The district nine-fallout consists of an American Patriot named Mickey, who was forcibly relocated to City-24 following spur-of-bad deals with insider trading amongst those within Central America. He established connections through the area via the Broker system and Clover group. The refabrication of a new fallout sector of the Patriots in a foreign country will prove difficult, and their reputation will not hold the same as it did once before. There is no set goal for the Patriots within District nine, but that may change in the near future. However, they still have suitable supply lines into the city, meaning they are a key contender for the modern weapons market.

Patriot movements within CITY-24

The marketplace incident was a poor attempt by the disorganised assassination attempt on ██████ ███████a collaborator and famous author of █████ ████ during his inauguration as a member of the legislative party. Under guidance from their leadership, two individuals were tasked with posting out within an apartment block that had an overview of the inauguration. Both individuals were captured and tortured, and an unknown amount of information was given to the Combine's hands. It was a spur-of-the-moment attempt on one's life that resulted in the destruction of the small outpost of PATRIOTS within CITY-24. Their outpost was raided without any surviving members, rendering the original support movement null' within CITY-24. It won't be for a few years before any additional support was deployed in that sector.

Patriot supply into CITY-24

One of the key components of the PATRIOTS is their vast access to modern weaponry, being based within the United States, where there are more weapons compared to people. The collective gathering of weaponry boosted the PATRIOTS to become one of the main suppliers of marketers across the globe with their vast connection, such as the main supply hub within CITY-24, Clover. The relationship between these two parties is spotty, with most of the weapons transactions taking place through third-party dealers donning other names other than the PATRIOT brand. One of the key suppliers within CITY-24, at least within the DISTRICT 9 area, is a dodgy individual by the name of Mickey, who, through the supply routes provided by Clover, has managed to establish a key-foot-hold within the arms trade in the nearby region.

The Patriots have been long involved in arms deals across the globe, trading with local businesses in bulk to fund the war effort or fund whatever ideology pays, and it has no direct link to terrorism that the Patriots don't support. One prominent example of poor salesmanship is the infamous dealing with the Genovese crime family in Geneva for a regular supply of Modern American firearms; the family, in exchange for the weapons, would turn over an American Patriot held hostage within Geneva. The Patriots knew that this deal would only come back to bite them as the guns supplied were to be used in an internal conflict between the various crime families and those directly supporting the Patriots themselves, resulting in further lives lost. Although fearing this, the Patriots went ahead with the transaction, only to be led into a combine assisted ambush through the Genovese family, resulting in heavy losses on both sides; however, the Patriots came out victorious. Since then, the Patriot's dealings with the prominent Genovese crime family have been non-existent, and the hostage, now deemed a prisoner of war, is still missing in action.
