In the days and months following the Seven Hour War, the scattered remnants of the United States Military alongside a plethora of citizens wishing to fight began to organize. What came of this effort was The Patriots, a band of resistance cells operating across the United States.
The Patriots have generally operated clandestinely in their efforts to internally subvert the Combine across cities. However, they seem extremely brazen externally. With a favorable knowledge of the countryside, the Patriots often carry out acts of guerilla warfare against The Combine by hitting patrols, convoys, and infrastructure. Their actions in City One, New York, where they bombed and destroyed the Manhattan Nexus serve as a testimony to their style of warfare.
Generally the Combine have strayed away from direct confrontation as M.M.A defections are extremely common when fighting against The Patriots. As such, terror bombing has become slightly common in New England as the Combine may successfully, or unsuccessfully, blindly bomb huge forests and other zones they suspect The Patriots are operating in. This has also led to an increased sense of paranoia as Combine patrols and convoys are commonly hit.
While the Patriots operate all across the Eastern United States, their home base of operations is supposedly near Buffalo, New York. It's from here they have attempted to subvert the Combine all across America but most importantly, the Combine in New York. It's also reported in this area they hold a large supply of American equipment such as M4's, Abrams Tanks, and aerial strike craft, though this may just be a rumor.

'The Patriots H.Q Zone of Influence'

This general area is where Patriot patrols can be found. This general area is known to house scattered supply depots and command centers for the Patriot movement. It's been mostly hidden from Combine view.

Freeport Philly Rework:
Philadelphia, the Birthplace of America, was abandoned by the Combine shortly after the Seven Hour War. In the years following this abandonment, as the Combine turned towards the American Wastes and the American South, a small 'free city' began to emerge that the Combine have largely ignored. This free City has now become a hub for both refugees and smugglers who wish to get away from the tyrannical grip of the Combine.
A large refugee camp is set up near the Philadelphia docks which has seen an influx of persons escaping from New York, Washington, and other nearby Combine cities. Now, in the City of Brotherly Love, they live a somewhat harsh but free life. Furthermore, it's a common misconception that 'The Patriots' have their H.Q in the City, which is infact false, despite the fact that they've had a large presence in assisting the Free City.
'Philadelphia Smuggling Port'

Philadelphia's Port has become a hive of smuggling on the Eastern Coast. This area has unknown scum and villainy that often arrive to drop off illegal goods and escape the eye of the Combine warmachine.
'Philadelphia Refugee Housing'

This zone is a large slum-like area that houses hundreds of refugees from across the Eastern United States. They have escaped to this area, where they now live, in an effort to get away from The Combine's iron fist.

'The Patriots - Stamford Base'

The Samford Base has been a long term operation hub for The Patriots in New York. It's from this location that the Patriots have launched several attacks across the Eastern seaboard by ambushing the Combine and even bombing City One several times over.
It's from this location specifically though that The Patriots have launched an all out effort to undermine City One and prepare it for a revolution. It's also from this location at most operations North of City One operate from.
'The Patriots - Riker's Island F.O.B'

This location was recently formed by The Patriots and has been an F.O.B directly inside City One. Recently, the Patriots have been shipping in equipment to help undermine City One and the Combine are none the wiser of its activity.
'The Patriots - Union City Observation Post'

The Patriots have established an Observation Post near Union City. It's here that they generally watch for major Combine activity and spying on City One and its communications. It's not yet been discovered by the Combine

'The Patriots - City Sixteen Task Force'

A small cell of the Patriots operates fairly far North near Boston, or City Sixteen, out of the Stamford base. This small band of militiamen has the primary purpose of the Combine by any means possible. Currently, that means ambushing patrols and convoys whenever possible. They seemingly stay on the move with no real established base.
'The Patriots - Southern Task Force'

Another small cell of Patriots operates South of Washington D.C. This task force, the southernmost of its kind, generally operates with the intent of attacking Combine patrols and convoys, yet also the Combine Outposts that exist monitoring the American South and the American Wastes.
'The Patriots - North West Outpost'

In the North West section of the American East Coast, a small band of Patriots have set up an outpost to help monitor City Seventy and any Combine outposts in the region. It also serves a dual purpose of helping refugees from these Combine cities and instillations escape and head towards Philadelphia.
