The River's Remnants - A Rebel Expedition

Ruins of River Den​

As of one year ago, the River Den had been a hotbed of Resistance Trading. A mishmash of City Residents and Outland Survivors trading otherwise hard-to-find goods between each other. This did not only include weapons- items such as furniture, fresh paper, food products, or even salvaged Combine technology were bought and sold here. The Combine itself had marked the area of little notice, mostly present to track the flood of illicit goods into the market.

During the Total Rendition of Industrial Twenty-Four, which had previously counted among one of River Den's most populous trading sites, a sizable number of traders had found themselves unable to access it for further gatherings. On top of that, the Combine had begun redirecting their focus toward more important areas— such as the rapidly failing industrial sector across the coast.

To make bad tidings worse, the local antlion population had spiked due to a lack of competition and culling from the traders who had frequented the area. This led to the creation of a hive in the lower levels of the community. One capable of producing an Extract.

Now, with the area's location known, a small team will be contacted by the rebel Taskmaster, to accompany two Vortigaunts to the area. The Vortigaunts' priority will naturally be the Extract- but there is said to be a likelihood for salvage of various items from the old community, for any who would accompany them for their task.
