The struggle of persistence on Willard trend
There has been as of this week threads that argue against the traditional hierarchy of hl2rp and on how PKs define the game.
The argument of hierarchy claims that there is an odd identity with having to use a facade of sadism as means to convey dystopia, which allegedly only masochists find entertainment from - while as others try to ignore it.
The PK argument on the other hand debates on the consequence of incredible risks, which has made the gamemode far too pragmatic, to the extent that people are being burnt out over what is practically virtual jobs.
From my observation, these both controversial debates can be summarised as a trending debate concerning how persistence works in the HL2RP gamemode.
I am intrigued by how it has become relevant through 3 unconnected players who have expressed descriptiveively their bothers. Which gives me a sense that this is a natural development for the community for something new.
What are your thoughts on this community trend? What inspirations could solve the stated dissatisfaction of what we have now? Is this trend of dissatisfied players a problem?
Key words of discussion: Hierarchy, tradition, escapism, loot, whitelists, persistence, decay, veterans, grind.

On Civil Protection Leadership & The Ideology of Edgelordism
(the song is just a reference. if you know, you know.) Something that's been bugging me about this place for a long time, but only came to a head recently. Be warned, I will be crass: Why is there this pervasive dumbfuck pants-on-head retarded notion that grips every aspect of this hl2rp...
Denied - High Command
Yes, this post is based off the other post. INTRO High Command has always filled a particular niche. The background of Civil Protection/Overwatch operation. This initially came mostly in the flavour of extremely shallow characters who would use a red eyed model from that one CP pack every...
What's the appeal of PK? (And my problems with it)
Hello there gamers, and I offer you, a little (or not) post regarding PK. Which is both a question, but also my personal stance on it. Now, if you have seen me in game, or in here, then you know that I am not the biggest fan of PK, maybe because I've never experienced it before (in any...
