The ‘Uprising’ is a militant group with the aimed determination of inciting an armed uprising against the Combine Authority in City 24.
Its origins are unknown, although some believe that the core of the group and its inner leadership is composed entirely of members of the Underclass.
The group itself, is a testament to human evolution. Forged by survivors from the "Bloody Thursday" - the day when reckoning was brought down upon the Indigent Zone. The bloody pogroms carried out by the Civil Protection and loyalist bands of "hooligans" resulted in days of raids; arbitrary arrests and even murder. The hatred towards the Underclass was further whipped up by the City Administration. Upon its initial foundation, the group suffered extremely to the events that unfolded. Only resurfacing following the deadly bombardment upon the Indigent Zone with biological weapons.
The movement understood that it would not win the fight unless they won the hearts and minds of the people. Rather than indulging in low-level insurgency against the Civil Protection, the ‘Uprising’ would formulate their own “Home Army” - inspired by the news from London. The goal now was simply to weaken the Combine’s grip - by carrying acts of sabotage, extensive desinformation and an extensive recruitment campaign.
Inspired by the “Samizdat”; the organisation seeks to establish an underground facilities for reproducing censored or banned literature and political publications. Every form of dissent will result in the inevitable preservation of humanity as a race. And would serve as an act to mobilize the populace against the Union and the City Administration.
By organizing the Underclass into a vanguard party - the group seeks to use the proles and sympathizers to incite an uprising in City 24; with rumors on the wavelengths of similar revolts occurring with great success in City 2 - London. Some believe that the City 2 Uprising is a signal of revolt, should other cities follow-suit, then a continental revolt in Europe would be possible..
