The 'White Dove.'
Why a Dove?
You have most likely seen the combine propaganda with the dove, flying high above the Universal Union logo. The 'Dove' have adopted said symbol, in an effort to use the Universal Unions propaganda and symbolism against them. If they were loud enough with their message people would start seeing the Universal Unions own propaganda as 'Dove' propaganda. As for the Lambda, the 'Dove' have worked with a 'Lambda' cell back in City 17, District 47. They see it as a symbol of hope and unity.
General information.
The White Dove is a Movement, for which has formed primarily for the benefit of the people belonging to the Free-yards. Where the group has based itself. The Dove, whilst mainly based around resisting from the Combine, and actively making attempts at resisting them. Is also engaged in various Trader and Humanitarian activities.
The Trade of the Dove primarily is comprised of smuggling, whether it be Medicine, Clothes or Food. All of these items are smuggled directly from the factory by industrial workers on the edge of their belief in the Union, and sold through the Dove to compensate said smugglers. The Dove also offers bartering and scrap-tier trades as well, the sale and purchasing of Metals, Electronics and Explosive materials is quite common amongst the various traders for the Dove.
The Dove's members are made up of close knit, like-minded individuals that they've come to trust, not basing their applications off of ethnicity, or other traits. Instead, one simply needs to do good and represent the symbols of the society to effectively be apart of it. Unfortunately, due to the Unions efforts the destroy them from the inside, they are reluctant to accept new people, but whether that Individual wants to Rebel, or just live happily in peace in a free land, they can do either. Payment is not required as a prerequisite to entry, and neither are actions. The mindset is the currency.
The Dove's ideals stem from aiding the people primarily, and some of their feats, whilst minimal thus-fourth include hijacking a Union sanctioned broadcast and spreading the word about the QZ to the people living inside of the city, a bombing outside the QZ Gate, in an effort to splinter the CP forces, the killing of a Union Auxiliary Officer, and the distribution of food, water, and medical aid to anyone in need without capitalisation.
They have been branded 'Terrorists,' Mainly by the Universal Union. Though The Dove prides itself on the morality system it has utilised as a justification for all of its actions. It typically revolves around the idea of humanity as a whole, wherein it regards any member or supporter of the Universal Union as non-human and traitors to their own species, not deserving of sympathy or spared from the cross-hairs until they shine through and build up the courage to actively resist. The Dove believes this rather harsh system as not only to justify their actions, but also due to the belief that anyone supporting the Combine in any capacity, whether that be at the lowest rung of society stacking boxes or the highest in administration, then they are effectively subjecting humanity to the slow genocide that is the suppression field and natural human ageing. However, to complicate matters slightly more so, anyone that does reject the Unions ideals and rebels from the Combine are stripped of guilt from decisions made in their previous loyalist vocations, now somewhat 'born again' and freely able to aid the resistance without judgement. That is, so long as they uphold their effort to the cause.
The birth of the 'Dove.'
It all began one night where a group of six strangers came together to plan an attack on the passing patrols of Civil Protection in April of 2014. They built a shrapnel bomb in a suitcase and planted it outside of the QZ gate, they used a request device to draw the patrol team towards them before detonating the bomb via radio, sending shrapnel towards the patrol team, seriously injuring three and killing one. Everyone made it out alive, and it made them all friends. They then went on to form a resistance group. Thus, marks the beginning of the 'White Dove.'
The uprising in District 47.
The 'Dove' had a very prominent role in the uprising of District 47. Two members to note are 'Scar' and 'Lima,' who set up a triage in the Reclaimed zone apartments. They were both on the front lines, along with other brave souls who fought until they were exhausted, over the span of the week long war. 'Lima' set up peace talks and even managed to land a cease-fire with the liquidators and Civil Protection, which was short lived thanks to the Overwatch Transhuman Arm. 'Scar' helped in the efforts to destroy the Nexus from the inside using a vehicle rigged with explosives, fighting through the cobbled and corpse ridden streets of District 47 to escort the vehicle inside. The 'White Dove' made it's escape from D47, though bittersweet. Their actions have slowed since then, less and less activity. Most- if not all members going their own way, moving on to better things.
Who knows what the future can hold for The 'White Dove.'
