Read the suggestion that was denied, firebombs should be removed.

They contribute with nothing but dread on roleplay.

Literally destined to nuke an entire roleplay group as the footage we have all seen.

With the suggestion being denied, it assumed that it will be fixed. This however is foolish as it is just a single script.

It will not contribute much as what we have learned from the hl2rp quiz: Roleplay is not about gaining items but to develop your character.

Remove the incendiary, it is a waste of time being 'fixed' it is only a weapon, a script that does not contribute much in the general roleplay.

I know people are real mad about the incendiary grenade, but to be clear - the regular grenade is going to be almost as, if not equally broken. If it's balanced for TBC, it might be good, otherwise yes remove it.

Regular grenade are actually frozen for 1 round before blowing on it's next turn.

They also make sense to have only for OTA as in Half life it is common for them to throw frags.

The only grenades it makes sense for basic bitch cops to have are smokes for riots and maybe flashbangs for big sweeps

Bear in mind the Capitol Police on Jan 6th didn't have smokes or flashes even though they were expecting huge crowds, so the idea that every metrocop just has a fucking firebomb on them is pretty stupid.

News got in that currently rank leaders have access to firebombs. The only comment that I see somewhat justified is that firebombs are great for combating xen fungi. My question is what is the infestation control then good for? When infestation zone can just be burnt up. Would this mean if rebels got molotovs, they would be able to clear the infestation zone by themselves...?

Incendiary grenade is good for xen creatures not xen fungi.

I have to ask, can citizens even craft molotovs?

Only the OfC's have incendiaries still, and we only use them to deal with necrotics because IC'ly they are super effective on that.

Incendiaries also got fixed already so they deal a lot less damage now in TBC (one damage tick per round rather than continuous damage tick that completely ignores the fight). That makes them only really useful for area denial or if you really got people stuck in a spot where they cannot move. Otherwise you just spend half a turn on movement and you are in the clear with one damage tick at most.

Frag grenades were always TBC compatible. They will not explode until the end of the next turn of the player who threw it (so everyone in the fight is guaranteed a chance to move unless speed initiative fucks you over).

I have no more comment to add as incendaries already got fixed...

I've told this story like twenty times, but at one point I was on my vort chatting with RAD-X's worker who 'rescued' me from a vent while I was hiding from a patrol. In the middle of the conversation, a CP burst the door open and did an emote for readying a grenade. At the same time a headcrab mysteriously burst from the WOODEN FLOOR and attacked me, so I had to take a minute to blast it.

The CP, tired of waiting for for me to resolve a basically OOC discrepancy and type my reaction to his emote, tossed the grenade. While RAD-X escaped early, with a very brief emote, lucky bastard, I was left to suffer the effects of the incendiary grenade; getting utterly locked in place while I burned alive, 100% unable to do a damn thing to stop it.

I was immediately CHARBANNED. I would've stayed that way if Goose didn't unban me five minutes later, which is how long it took admins to realize I had been CHARBANNED from an incendiary grenade.

So, in other words, I was lucky.

Remove this fucking grenade

Thought you said I was the vort but then I reread it because I'm a bit of a noob when reading sometimes. All is true.

We're going after those incind's as fast as possible and I think work has already begun to change them into Area-Denial grenades with minimalised over time damage dealt instead of horrendous alpha figures.

already live on the server since yesterday, as I said in my post. That and them being removed from basically all CP's essentially renders this entire thread a mute point that is no longer really valid.
