Three young aspirants stay huddled around a fire. Soon, their trials would end. But for now, a story.
"And that is how Madrid fell! With a thunderous roar, the Elder released every ounce of his energy -- An explosion to shake the very Earth!"Reason raised a claw in protest. "That's not how it went! The tribe joined in unison. They gave everything they had together."
"Bah! But they obviously could not have done it without the Elder. He carried two thousand years of power!"
"Regardless, he couldn't hope to have done it alone. This story wasn't just about him."
Spirit twisted their claws together timidly, muttering a quiet question which just carried over the crackle of fire. "Who else was there?"
Wrath reeled back his head with a laugh, "More legends than could be counted! Viktor Sokolov, Tlu'Urn-Etas, Esteban Torres..."
"..Zor-Thakar'Ival'Thor, Gaka'Bee.. Scook! An ant-lion! They said it miraculously transformed, to protect our tribe."
Wrath scoffed. "The limits of my belief are sometimes tested..."
"That is exactly how the story is told." Reason replied. They eyed Wrath for a moment, prodding teasingly, "I didn't take you for one to doubt our Guardian."
"It is not doubt!" Wrath snapped. He paused a moment. "It was simply... Quite some time ago."
Spirit raised their claws over their face, not wanting to offend Wrath with laughter. "Daag'Lo says that we're reborn, after life. Do you think they were?"
"Unquestionably! Tlu'Urn is surely out there now, severing the coils of our enemies as ferociously as ever,"
"Yes, I like to believe so. Viktor Sokolov is probably inspiring people, wherever he is. His powers of healing leave the world a better place even now."
"The Torres, too!" Wrath laughed. "I'm sure plenty still fear the bite of his scope!"
"Gaka'Bee... a loyal friend to the lucky ones close to them now."
"Even Scook! Ruling proudly over a massive colony!"
"Ival'Thor has found themself in good company by now. A kind guide to others through dark times."
"...And the Elder..?"
Wrath clapped his hands together, an uproarious bellow leaving his mouth. "Do you even need to ask? He haunts what remains of the Enslavers, exposing them in each nook they hide in!"
"Leading a new generation, perhaps. His rebirth may have robbed him of his wisdom, but who could question his spirit?"
"Wherever he has ended up..."
"I hope that he is happy."
"I hope that he is happy."
