Tremblement de Terre
Libère notre peuple, libère notre monde
1944 - Present
Using a symbol that was previously a representation of French aristocracy but now stands as a reminder in the wake of their violent attacks, the Fleur de Lis, members of this organization previously and still do view themselves as 'showers of the way' for French nationalists. The organization views native born French citizens as the highest caste of importance on Earth and advocates for their supremacy. It tends to be indifferent to every other nationality save for Germans and Italians, against whom the organization was formed following the events of World Wars I and II, and its members view with an irrational level of hatred.
History
The organization's first act of public violence known to the world was its participation in open shaming of French women who slept with German soldiers during the occupation of France. This occurred soon after the conclusion of World War II, and involved acts such as shaving the heads of these women and drawing or cutting swastikas onto or into their forehead.
The group became more violent with its antics as time passed, with the 'organizers' of the anarchist assembly indicating that their message would not be understood or adhered to unless they applied rigorous levels of force. Ironically taking inspiration from the Nazis themselves, the group began to storm political events or rallies for ideals they disagreed with both inside and immediately surrounding France.
As the world entered a more modern era with the 90s and 2000s, the group became an important issue for French politicians as their rate of violent had been slowly progressing since the 50s. EQ had slowly gone from the shaming and protest of political ideals they disagreed with to hefty terrorist acts such as the bombing of structures and open acid attacks inspired by events in the UK.
Just prior to the Combine invasion of Earth, things seemed to be coming to a head with the group. Many of their leading figures were arrested and slated for trial, which angered their followers. The actual invasion itself proved to be both a blessing and a curse. Though many members of the group were freed from prison as a result of munitions raining from the sky, many also died in the initial attacks.
While most members of the organization that were arrested before the war are listed officially as missing in action, rumors state the group still operates a stronghold outside of City 13, functioning on a much smaller scale than it enjoyed pre-war due to the severing of communications with other divisions of the organization. Several horrific attacks in and around France are noted to be rumored or actually claimed by members of EQ.
Ideology
As stated previously in the article, EQ operates under a complex intermingling of issues that are described below:
- The group believes all or most government organization should be either heavily restricted or completely nonexistent.
- The group believes ethnic Germans and Italians to be directly inferior to ethnic French due to their violence and 'barbarism' against French natives. This belief is largely inspired by hatred that has been passed down several years as a result of World War II.
- As an addition, some members of the group believe that all or most of the German homeland should belong to the French, largely as reparation for the war's occupation.
- The group, while claiming to be a freedom fighting organization, still remains extremely hostile toward what it views as outsiders, and does not form friendly relationships with groups unless they can claim French nationality and proof of noncompliance with the Union.
- Their primary response to non-affiliated parties is to attack them, regardless of their motives.
- The group is extremely hostile toward the Union and its associates, viewing it as the ultimate culmination of an abusive dictatorship.
- As an addition, the group views French natives who side with the Union, aid it, or even comply with its regime to be subhuman, and despise them more even in some cases than Germans and Italians. The group maintains heavy use of guillotine devices, and reserves them specifically to execute these individuals and place their heads on pikes.

Citizens :: DislikedAllied · Friendly · Indifferent · Disliked · Hated · Hostile · Despised
Due to their compliance with the Combine's regime, the group considers citizens weak and worthless.
Loyalists :: Hated
Active compliance and participation in the government system established by the Combine only furthers their disdain.
Refugees :: Indifferent
Given that these citizens choose to live outside the bounds of the Combine's rule, the group has no specific love or hate toward them.
Civil Administration :: Hostile
Spewers of the Combine's propaganda. Like calming cattle before their slaughter, the only purpose CAB serve is to encourage compliance before death, or absorption into the Combine's machine.
Civil Protection :: Hostile / Feared
More even than active participation, Civil Protection are collaborators who have chosen to beat and abuse their fellow citizens for personal gain. EQ views them as weak, with frail morals and flimsy loyalties. This disdain is equally matched by their fear for the group given the brutality it uses almost meeting their own, and how dangerous they become in large numbers.
Overwatch Transhuman Arm :: Hostile / Feared
All they understand of the Overwatch is that they are no longer human - strange Frankenstein monsters mutated to serve a government through brain washing to ensure loyalty.
Eastern Sino-Indian Confederation :: Disliked
They are outsiders.
The Liberation Front :: Disliked
They are outsiders.
Lambda :: Hostile
They are outsiders. They at times intrude on EQ territory.
CCCP :: Hostile
Communists and Russians.
The Farmers :: Unknown / Indifferent
Most members of EQ have not even heard of the Farmers purely based on how far away they are. Those who have care little about them.
