Un-Develop Fatigue

The way I originally envisioned the feature when I designed it was to make it so actually taking care of your energy would result in positive benefits, but ignoring it shouldn't be extremely detrimental.

In other words, having 0 energy would mean all your stats are at normal levels like we used to have. But 100 energy would give you various boosts like faster search times, faster stamina regen, higher movement speed, etc etc.

Ultimately this isn't currently the case, but I'm sure we can tweak the values to make it a little less punishing than it currently is, and turn it into a reward for actually roleplaying instead of a detriment that forces you to do it.

I think something worth noting is that the fatigue system was a plugin that was paid for because it took a decent amount of development time to create. So it's unlikely it would just be removed as that would be wasted money.

I'm sure it's doable to tweak things and reduce how much of a nerf the system causes when energy isn't taken care of - I'd suggest people focus their energy on exactly what parts of the system they'd like to see removed or modified instead of aiming to get the system as a whole removed.

Just because something was paid for doesn't necessitate it staying on the server. Sure it'd be a shame but likely not a neckbreaker.

I think I like the approach M!NT suggested though. Instead of removing it outright, see what amount of tweaking can be done to better suit the needs of what was initially envisioned and bring it up to par. If that still doesn't work, maybe you can go back to the drawing board.

How about simply transforming it into a system where the debuff only applies when you're wearing a certain type of armor and let's say for 5ish minutes after you take it off? This of course wouldn't apply to standard cop uniforms and factions like OTA but could apply to riot gear/medium kevlar and above. That way people would stop walking around flashing their scripts and instead strategize when they should actually gear up for an action. Alternatively lighter gear would make more sense to carry around rather than just be a 'downgrade' of anything 'better' you got.

Or if that doesn't work make the fatigue system apply after certain threshold of items sit around in your inventory so trash-people will suddenly become unable to carry around 10 PC monitors up their asses.
No. How about you cant get fatigued if you have full food and water

In my experience so far the fatigue system isn't working as intended at all. I go between two places on the map and RP with them for 30 minutes straight, standing still and my energy wasn't restored at all. The fact you need to sit down on a chair or lie in a bed to get rid of the rather abysmal debuffs, (losing several levels in every skill) effectively forcing me to sit outside of places people ACTUALLY roleplay just to maintain this redundant stat bar.

Managing four stat bars(hunger, thirst, spores, fatigue) =/= Facilitating Roleplay. They're just mechanics to force you to stay out of certain areas for a variety of reasons. Lack of food/water, needing to maintain face coverings or filters, and now needing to sit down every time I walk across the map.

The most liked post on willard. Still, it's not happening because developers don't know how to un-develop shit.

Based take.
Rewarding good behavior is always much better than punishing bad behavior.

You see that's cool and all but in the video it's STILL THERE. GET RID OF IT! YUCKY! HOCK PATOOIE!
