Unfair warning due to bad log system

Summary:
I was warned for "workbench theft" despite the point I obviously didn't take one, and when given proof that it's a bug he said something akin to "well I can't investigate any further due to the logs not being conclusive" and now I'm stuck with a warning for something I didn't do. Seems unfair.
He did explain the warning can't be removed, but I'm still making this out of principle of being unfairly warned and the log system being poor. I don't blame him, but the log system.

Me being curious, decide to investigate. I come across this in your logs regarding workbenches.



I checked the location of these benches, and they were gone when I checked. This is when I warned you.

Allegedly, you didn't actually succeed in picking them up, but still tried. The reasoning you gave me was because you were curious and trying if it worked. After this I had every reason to believe you were maliciously going around stealing workbenches. As you can see, logs don't actually show me if you succeeded or not. You said it failed because your inventory is full, but that just ends up deleting the workbench instead. In my eyes, you still stole them, whether you gained the item or not.

You argued with me, saying you didn't actually succeed. Okay, sure. I can't remove the warning anyway, like I said. They can't be appealed either.

Point is, you still tried to do it several times.



These logs show you trying it on 2 ovens as well.

If you didn't actually succeed, then I suppose the warning for stealing the benches is technically invalid, but we can just change it to 'trying to steal' instead.

Why this is worthy of a complaint is beyond me, but if you want the full explanation, here it is.

Wouldn't it show the item entering my inventory/leaving as well? Plus, can't you investigate and see if my character(s) had a toolkit? I believe if you did a more thorough investigation instead of jumping to conclusions, you would have came to the realization I didn't have one to pick up a bench in the first place on any of those characters.

AND, if you press E on the bench on accident, it pops the menu up and I click one of the buttons to close it quite frequently. So it wasn't me "trying to steal" it either. My comment on discord is a joke at worst. I'm completely against workbench theft and think it's a selfish thing to do.

Yes. I haven't played HL2RP in a while and "e" is the use key on other games, but it's the key that brings up the context menu here, and I clicked one of the buttons to close it faster. It happens.

I believe you missed the, very important and integral, fact that if you click "Pack up" and it fails, it logs it as if it succeeded.

Yes it logs it as you ran the command. Why you did it that many times on different objects is beyond me, but you saying that in the Discord and then proceeding onto the game to try it does look less like a joke and more like an attempt.

Having seen you've tried to steal the workbenches multiple times I don't believe it was a mistake. I'm closing this report and suggest you rethink your actions in future. The warning has since been altered to better fit your case.
