Common spelling mistakes even for ESLs. cops showing almost infantile behaviors from i5 all the way to RL. Rebels are tolerable and are comprehensible. Vorts dont play so cant speak on them.
I havn’t seen CWU because workshifts are intolerable. No comment.

Having just got into the server properly during this so-called ''infestation'' story arc, I've been having nothing but a good time playing.
I don't want to reveal too much but my character has been making friends and she's slowly piecing together stories of what happened before she arrived! It's been a very welcoming introduction and I'm settling in nicely.

In terms of atmosphere it's been second to none and I've been immersed throughout the entire thing. While I admit it can be incredibly overwhelming at first, I pushed through and have managed to get the hang of most of the server's systems, I believe.

The various factions feel distinct and Civil Protection feels scary enough, but they're still showing some of their humanity, which I like.
I've done two workshifts (I forgot to sign in to the first one because I wasn't told how to ;-; ) and they've both been very unique adventures, and make me excited to join more.

The District Watch thing feels like a really cool player-driven initiative (even though they wouldn't let me join) and they don't seem out of place at all.
I did have some gripes with rations being unavailable but that's been changed now as far as I can tell.

Overall, I'm just excited to see where the story takes me next. Highly satisfied!

The bureaucracy can be immense and stifling at times.

Would you like to elaborate? This is giving us nothing to work with.
I thought this a meme thread so I didn't care enough to post, but just overall I noticed (as a rebel player) that you generally need more staff intervention than the average person. Just today I had a perfect plan to do something while a RL and White Band loyalist we're near the slums, but I couldn't do anything due to the /checkcrime not being fullfilled. (One CP Short). I asked if I could have the potential to have it overrriden, but by the time I got an answer the event had already ended and I was told it would simply be NLR. There's not really guidelines for that type of stuff and its mindnumbing to try and work within the system.

Same with auths. You can be trying to do something but have to wait for a massive amount of time to get something even looked at.

Having seen the organizing side of these types of arcs i can tell there's so much effort being put in to creating an environment that's conducive to character development. I could list off my dissatisfactions with particular factions but it's at it's core not within the purview of the arc creators to radically change. Except maybe one thing, that i think CPs compensated too easily. It'd be much more interesting to me if when i played on my i5 i wasn't surrounded by individuals yammering away on the radios, co-ordinating a more cohesive team than when OCIN wasn't up. It feels like it's sort of counterintuitive to the intended direction of the arc to allow LRRs to be so freely distributed, not to mention the return of datapads which i thought were supposed to function on OCIN.

So while I voted satisfied, that's based off of the effort i'm seeing be put in from CT and the arc creators. If i wanted to account for the behavior of my fellow civpro faction members it'd probably drop to a neither or dissatisfied. Way too fast to resort to CS:GOing people with barely any writing or characterisation. It's fun if there's one or two completely psychopathic units who kill without remorse, gets very boring when nobody's bothering to characterise the cruelty they inflict because they're too busy clamoring for ooc progression.

Crime check remains a hard barrier to city-specific rebel activities, true, but it’s simultaneously necessary and we can’t always ignore it (trust me, there was chaos last time we did that). The amount of cops required to fulfill the crime requirement does change sometimes (typically between 4-6) depending on average CivPro player count. It exists to ensure some degree of fairness in CivPro vs rebel conflicts and ensures there can always be at least some response. It can be frustrating, but we need it to ensure the server always stays fair across the board.

A few days ago, a new Auths Manager was instated (George). He’s still settling into the role, but he’s been given free reign to adjust the system and what constitutes an auth as well.

A request for new willing Auths Team members was also put up around that time, so we should theoretically be seeing an increase in auth acceptance times with more people on board.

Sorry, I’m on mobile.

I’m glad we have serial non-players on forum post stand-by. Thank the heavens above! ;D

In big large flourescent lighting: JOKE POST!

This is one of those edgecases that we will never be able to solve via rules, or guidelines, or automagical systems. Check crime is there for a reason- so that the server isn't total anarchy when no CP players are online, because ICly there would be plenty of them around in the district. Its an OOC mechanism to combat an IC issue, which I'm never a fan of, but is something that is required for a 24/7 server such as this.

We once had a ruleset where we added edge cases like these every time they came up, and it was utterly gigantic and no one ever read the damn thing. So in cases like these, yes you do have to go to staff to get an answer. I know it sucks because roleplay is dynamic and they may not be fast enough but, thats just the nature of the beast. Auths are the same thing. You need to get an auth to do something irregular because if we didn't have a system, anyone could do anything they want to any time. However, having a system requires our volunteer staff team to read the auths, which they cannot do instantly.

You hit the nail on the head with this.

I mean I get that but it's absolutely soul crushing to watch White Band loyalists hang brain near the slums with a RL and 4 other CP's just on the edge of not meeting /checkcrime.

But overall I see the point and you made a good post.

Man...
It almost becomes commical to see how many CCA decide to never leave their office/flag on until there's only 4 CPs online so they cannot get killed. And then when they go around they do some of the most brazen shit.
I'm almost tempted to call for a "/checkrebel" so Combine side can check if there are enough rebels online for them to do anything in the slums/outlands xd

Rebels got the short end of the stick for the 4th time in a row. I genuinely don't remember the last times Rebels had a clear 'goal' within an arc since the Antlion Arc.

Why would we, as rebels, want the Infestation to flourish and make the city inhabitable? The Infestation will slowly take over the entire world and kill all human life on earth, there would be no reason for us to not assist the Combine in taking it down.
