“Broken, trained, standing.”
| Age: 23 Height: 6'2" CID: #10487 Born In: St. Petersburg Affiliation: Civil Workers Union Role: Forewoman Appearance: Tall, blonde, blue eyes Long vertical stitched scar from forehead to cheek Yellow hard hat, practical clothing Visible bullet wound scars Moves with cautious, measured steps Signature Theme: Represents her resilience, trauma, and cold determination. |
BACKGROUND:
Valeriya’s life in the city has been a sequence of pain, loss, and survival. The Combine occupation left the streets infested with necrotics, and each day brought new threats. Four bullets found her in mid-August, wounds untreated in a clinic that ignored her suffering. Every act of duty, handing over a battery, following orders, was met with punishment or scorn. Mirrors reflected a stranger, stitches across her face, a body marked by violence, a mind shadowed by trauma. Nights in the sewers were survival lessons, infected pursuers, monstrous creatures, and the cold reminder that no one would rescue her. Even within the C.W.U., betrayal and humiliation were constant companions. Edward Urey mocked her private diary, Stanislav unfairly scolded her, and Ron Shelby stole the student she had trained, leaving her with nothing but the emptiness of loss. Yet in the darkness, faint sparks of understanding emerged. Conversations with Richard taught her that surviving was not just avoiding bullets, it was mastering the mind. Though scarred, weary, and haunted, Valeriya endured. Each step through blood, fear, and betrayal reminded her of one truth, survival is claimed, not given. She is no longer a shadow. She is Valeriya Sergeyevna Volkovskaya. Broken, trained, standing.
Thoughts on Universal Union:
Valeriya views the Universal Union with deep suspicion and quiet contempt. Their control and bureaucracy are oppressive, and she believes they put the people’s lives at risk for their own agendas. She remains cautious in all interactions with them, ready to act when necessary, yet wary of the true intentions behind every order.
Current Mental State:
Valeriya is experiencing severe psychological strain due to the cumulative traumas she has endured. Being shot multiple times and left untreated, witnessing betrayal and the death of those she cared for, and enduring constant humiliation within the CWU have all contributed to her heightened stress and persistent fear. The theft and violation of her private diary by Edward Urey intensified feelings of shame and helplessness. Additionally, the loss of Aras and her inability to protect him has left a deep emotional void. These experiences have caused her to be hypervigilant, mistrustful of others, and emotionally guarded, while simultaneously struggling with intrusive memories and recurring reminders of her past suffering.

Aras Demirbaş Loves I have always admired Aras from afar. There is a warmth and strength in him that draws me in, yet I have never dared to reveal my feelings. Opening up feels dangerous, what if I lose him? So I watch, silently, hoping he never leaves my life.
I finally opened up to him, and he accepted my feelings. He loves me as well, though not in the way of becoming lovers. What we share is complicated, but genuine.
We do not know what will come next. Perhaps this is not a path to romance, perhaps it is something deeper. I want to see where fate leads us, together.
| Stanislav Krátký Friend At first, he would scold me unfairly, but over time he began to understand and help me. I respect him for his guidance and the support he offers.
| Respects | Deceased He was the friend I could lean on when I felt bad. Always helpful, kind-hearted, and devoted to helping others. His loss left a heavy void in my heart, and I will always carry his memory.
| Alena Medvedeva Respects A strong and disciplined woman, a true survivor shaped by hardships. I admire her resilience, but I remain cautious, unsure if I can fully trust her despite her loyalty.
|
Elsa Becker Friend She has always cared for us, thinking of what is best. A truly good person, reliable and trustworthy. I can share my secrets with her without fear.
| Takeshi Yamada Acquaintance We work in the same place, though we haven’t spoken much. I assume he is a good man — after all, he is Japanese.
| Distrusts | Deceased A strange woman. She seems to wait for the moment people expose their backs, always watching. I cannot bring myself to trust her.
| Edward Urey Hates He had the audacity to steal and read my private diary, what an absolute bastard! I can’t forgive him, not now, not ever. The nerve, the disgusting little piece of trash.
|
Acquaintance | Deceased He ambushed Stanislav, did he deserve it? Maybe it was the regime flexing its power. I can’t fully forgive him, yet I wonder if there was logic in his actions. Conflicted, wary, but aware.
| Larry Leckman Dislikes He insulted me, called me a “communist bastard” just because I am Russian. His ignorance and arrogance are intolerable. I hold nothing but disdain for him.
