Post some of your favourite Serious-RP events, it doesn't have to be strictly HL2 (or Willard) , but tell us what happened and why it's one of your favourites.

The only event that comes to mind for me was one on Neb that was over five days and followed a street gang trying to outrun conscripts. My character ended up calling in a mortar strike on himself to save the others.

Codename: VENUS was one of the best, especially The Long Haul.

For me, there are two that come to mind.

Our Mutual Destruction, purely for how brutal it was in terms of PKs. It really made your survival feel special when everyone else around you is getting PK'd, and my character arc played into this element, which also probably improved the experience for me. My first character had a monster of a backstory, totalling at 1.3K words, only to die in less than an hour. My second one was a cowardly survivor who's backstory barely got to the minimum two paragraphs. He started off a total coward, screaming in terror during S2K segments, and hiding away whilst everyone else fights. That guy ended up surviving to the very end, becoming a very religious co-captain who had overcome his fear of death.

There was also the point break beta. It was a whole new approach to HL2RP that felt so fresh. It also resulted in the game of Among Us that started among the CP units when one unit started making grabs for power, and then a unit of equal rank correctly pointed the finger at him as a culprit, but also accused someone innocent. This eventually lead into a breakdown in the whole Civil Protection structure, where no one trusted eachother in the middle of a climatic evacuation scene where we were all trying to escape the quarantine zone.

As a player:

Long haul, I was only in the last part of it, but it was super fun, I wish I had been able to play the early events too, the character I played in the event is still alive (though I haven't played him in a while)

Project venus was a ton of fun, I played as a Combine Minister from city 21 who helped the remaining conscripts and cops work together with the surviving rebels and citizens in the ruins of city 21, A shame we got the bad ending and earth is going to be overrun by a giant tumor.

City 8, A week-long event that took place in city 8, I played as my long haul character and ended up getting recruited by the CPRD, we got to do fun experiments on citizens until the fog escaped our lab

Red Forest, I played as my long haul character in this event, the event itself was an alternate history where we never were able to stop the fog from escaping the city in the city 8 event, it was awesome to play in an alternate timeline.

As a GM:

Black gold, I enjoyed black gold a lot, something cool happened every single day, most of the time the cool stuff was player driven like when a majority of the players in the event decided to go on a suicide mission to get antlion extract just to save one guy they saw as a great leader.

I believe it must be the City 3 Event in Beijing. Where I was leading the Red Guard as Political Commissar and Shadowlead, where we stormed the Nexus and nearly overthrew the combine. Though I wanted to have the players still a chance than just a "Red Guard win" so I went out with a Truce. oh yeah combine came back and we fucked them over.

Codename : Venus, was incredibly fun, play as a Patriot Rebel, and being one of the first survivors to get out, was on the plane that escaped on day 2
Blood on the Sand was also very good, i was the NRAUs engineer and arty guy, blew up a tank with HE rocket arty

Bro, I was the first one to get injured. Some NRAU shot an Anti-Tank shell at me (Sven Aalto)

Gotta add up to the pile and say VENUS was the best Willard event, at least during the second edition of Willard. I was a vortigaunt local that just decided to remain behind since the infestation zone was his hinting ground and home. Only to get fucked afterward by giant tentacles but we don't talk about it :angrycop: . I'm only playing since it's launch (second edition), haven't been around for the first one.

I really want to see/do a follow-up or sequel to project venus, the infestation was never stopped and is only expanding even more.

The Black Gold event actually ties in to project venus, from what I remember the plot of Black Gold was that city 42 was using oil to burn the approaching infestation in order to keep it away from the city. However, in Black Gold things didn't go well and I assume the oil drilling operation is no longer possible after all the shit that went down.

@Imperator RAD-X would you ever be interested in doing a follow-up event to Project Venus?

I can’t help but agree. I think a sequel where the americas are on the brink of a total infestation would be cool. A continent that’s just xen life
