Why were political parties removed?

Political Parties were fun and added a lot of RP, and gave people a reason to socialize(which I kind of rarely see now days)

It was largely due to the fact politics rapidly turned into an OOC meta-fest. Along with the endless complaining anytime something went wrong for certain parties. Those were the big ones I recall.

This. Also I believe a contributing factor was how downright retarded some of the politics-related lore was.
If I recall correctly there was a civil war with political parties and their militias duking it out. Never sat right with me and I'm glad that stuff is gone.

I do agree with the statement that they brought good RP to the server, they were really fun (until the civil war epic militia shit).
 
The Iso-Centralist Party's Militia turned into the MAA somehow and from there, observe.
