| -BACKSTORY- Early life to mid Twenties… Vitali Petrov was born in Murmansk within the former Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic. His father, Ivan Petrov was a member of the Russian Arctic forces and a veteran of the Great Patriotic war. He was the youngest of the siblings. His parents had him quite late compared to their two other children. So the age gap between him and his sister and brother was large. It was difficult for him to make a bond with them, and he was largely alone most of the time, doing his thing. He was always interested in making stuff and learning how they worked. So from a very young age he tried to make some “invention” , most of them being useless. When the time came for him to choose what he would do with his life. He decided to go work in a factory, choosing to stay for now, in his native city. He would be a simple worker, which was a job that satisfied him. He saw the collapse of the USSR, he was neutral about it. He thought that a new chapter in the history of Russian was about to begin. The defeat… And the Rebellion. When they arrived, Vitali was in Moscow. His plant manager had sent him there for a meeting with a supplier. The said plant manager didn’t wanted to make the trip because of the Storms, so Vitali was the lucky one to be sent to Moscow. When the invasion started, he quickly went to the Moscow metro system, where he thought he would be safe until the Russian Armed Forces Reinforcement would arrive. But they never came to help. And the war only lasted Seven hours. After the now City 3 was established, VItali was transferred quickly to City 27, where he stayed for a few years before being sent to City 13 He did stay there for a while, before being ultimately sent to Industrial 24. He would stay within the district for a while before going into the sewers, after having a discussion with some citizens about the Combines. He became radicalized. He always hated the different collaborators that he met along the years… So when he came to the sewers and started his anti-civil activities he only grew more hateful. He started seeing most of the people that stayed within the city as collateral damage. |

There is not enough word to describe my hate for these "people" that are simply traitors that deserve nothing but death by firing squad. I will make sure to put a bullet in the back of the head of each and every one of you all.
VORTIGAUNT
Sometimes I ask myself if you are really with us. Some of you clearly shows that they feel like they are superior to us Humans. I really don't like that. But saying that the majority of you are like that would be a lie. Most of you are good and have the very same goal as my.
THE REBELS
Most of you are alright, although too soft at times. You need to toughen up a little bit. But all of them want the best for humanity and I appreciate that. We have a common goal, but with different methods...
