1. vorts didn’t “invade” earth they just hopped in and ran around scared and started fighting back against humans when they were getting shot at in black mesa

2. you wouldn’t know anything about vorts realistically. all you’d assume is that they’re just another alien in the xenian category that wound up on earth so you can’t use the excuse of them being here because of the combine. which is why im xenophobic

From just my perspective, people who usually rp vort xenophobia do it so poorly, like, it's kinda cringe - most just simply bar themselves from rp'ing with vortigaunts, or just seem like they have an ooc hate boner and do whatever they can against them, which, isn't production of rp fun for both sides, it's literally just detrimental to the enjoyment of another player which isnt cool

Most people dont even have a real ic reason to hate vorts, if you wanna rp xenophobia, just add some hints of superiority, maybe dont deny service to vorts entirely, but maybe steepen prices, show some uncomfortability, throw out some back-handed insults, outright approaching vorts, assaulting them, calling them dumb slurs and bitching whenever they show up in rp, and trying to immediately end encounters

but if were not talking from ic stuff, or ooc reflection on vort-citizen rp

i think aliens irl living with us would be kinda funny

if i knew what i know about vorts oocly, id like to think i wouldnt like to fall to xenophobic tendencies, especially with a species that has the collective knowledge of thousands of lives readily influencing their actions and thoughts. Vortigaunts live hundreds of years, meaning that within only a lifetime of arrival you'll find many vorts being just as well-adapted to human culture as we are, except they get the added benefit of having unlimited time to learn every language, learn about human history, get educated in any field they want..

If this happened in the exact same circumstances as HL2, you would be incredibly stupid to scorn vortigaunts when an intergalactic alien empire is sterilizing you, reaving your planet of its resources, and trying to put you in the same position as the vortigaunt slaves.

Realistically, people would have no business trying to befriend an alien creature that towers over them with powers that violate their understanding of reality.

How it would likely be (99% of the time): Xie Crow or as I like to call it: "District 9"

I'm not saying that its impossible to care for a Vortigaunt since its clear that someone cared for a Vortigaunt enough to call it Uriah in EP2. However they will rarely if ever care back since they know that you are only a grain of sand in the beach of time.

You may be a friend to a Vortigaunt, but they will not be your friend.
