Something to communicate approximately how much time a player has left in their intended play session I think could be helpful for a wide variety of scenes.

It could appear just below the character name in the form of a colored line; it would serve a simple display of green for over an hour of planned play time left, yellow for 30 minutes of playtime left, and red for only 15 minutes or less before the player is planning to go.

I think this could help prevent a great number of scenes from being cut short by starting up right as a player or two involved are scheduled elsewhere besides the server. Perhaps it's a bit meta, but I think being more communicative about a digital actors time could help improve roleplay quality quite a bit, especially with regards to pacing.

It would naturally require some amount of programming, but I would imagine the final form of this might take the place of a timer on the TAB menu.

Anyway, that is all for now Willard Network, have a good rest of your day.

Cinema.. goated, even

I genuinely cannot tell if this is the smartest or dumbest thing I've ever read here

Put it in the "E to view more", putting it in with the rest of the recognition information would be detracting.

This shits useful only if 10 of your fingers suddenly get lodged up your ass.
There is no way yall cant just say "Thank you for talking, i need to go now".

I see this as incredibly useless even with its small utility for other players who intend to roleplay with you within the time span you gave out.

The point of the suggestion isn't out of laziness, its to set up and establish a bound for how long a scenario should be, so leaving in the middle of roleplay doesnt happen.

Personally I don't like this suggestion because it interferes with naturality and immersion since you are adding an out of character bound that can really be created in character.
For example:

Jimmy Butthead says: Hey man! Wanna go on a ten hour hike up the outlands?

Me says: Nah man, I don't got ten hours to hike.

There really is no need for this suggestion to be accepted, however I think putting it the way @NanCi_ is a terrible way to criticize a suggestion.

Honestly, this seems like major development overreach and potential UI bloat for a problem that is easily solved with
/looc Character Name: I have to go in about 30 minutes.

I think perhaps there are two unspoken benefits I've been considering regarding such a change as well.

1) It might enable some players to play closer to their departure time
2) It might enable some players to set healthier play time limitations for themselves

As for the bloat mentioned above, this was why I was keen to suggest it be represented as a different colored line between the name and description. Would offer both information and not clutter things up significantly.

It being there at all will be an absolute distraction. It's strictly OOC Information crammed between strictly IC information. Honestly my biggest concern.

could just set the person as "AFK" when the timer is up.
As you train your gun to their forehead, amidst squeezing the trigger; Above their head the 3 letters signifying their lack of presence appears before you. Time a halt, your lunch is getting cold.

While this may be something that can technically be developed rather easily, it must ultimately fall on the player to know whether or not they can dedicate enough time to roleplay.
