This is my own thing I am posting. Just give feedback of the current event, I feel like time warrants it.

For me I feel like the event has been slow, although I did miss out on the starting week these last few days seem really stale. And when stuff does happen it seems to mostly be between rebels and combine or combine and infestation stuff.

I don't want this to sound mean spirited, but I am tired of everything that has the number twenty-four in it. Everything that could be done on this map -- it was done already. Either recently, or years ago. Sure, there are newer players, but I think there's a common fatigue with the current maps and event ideas.

Infestations have been done numerous times. In City 24, we've had one. Here, we have one.

"this particular infestation lights you on fire before killing you"
"this specific infestation doesn't just kill you it makes you shit from your ass blood and then kills you"

Don't get me wrong, the ET (event team) is putting the effort in the arcs they made - propping, GMing, that's not even a question. But tell me. What the fuck are you supposed to do when the next arc is "yeah we're just gonna fill this with an infestation" and spin the wheel and it lands on "Alright so this time it's not from Xen it's actually from Race X". It's just tiring to constantly rebuild and clean up everything thousands of times over and over.

I personally want something that breaks the status quo. One way or another. I don't care if the scales tip into the balance of the resistance or the cops, I just want something that is not a copy paste infestation megaevent arc. Convenient writing - in my eyes - is something I've always classed as bad writing in my books.

tl;dr: put in the effort into breaking the faction quo, not into enhancing the same type of infestation events that we've had before a numerous amount of times

While I believe this feedback is completely unnecessary, since it is week one..

Every time I suggest something that could break the status quo, the response been most of the time: “This might be too risky, I don’t know.”

The truth is, things feel stale now because the event team leads are burned out. On top of that, poor decisions from factions and certain management have been sabotaging the GM team.

The rebels are the hardest to deal with lately. They don’t seem able to create their own fun like they used to, instead they expect a new event every single day, without realizing how much work that takes. People are spending their free time making events for you, when they could just as easily be doing something else.

Trying to end the event on the third day.

And when we say “No shotcopping” The response is: “Fine, feed us events or we will just do it anyways."

When they are bored, they need to suddenly launch a massive push against an event faction, completely unannounced, leaving the event team unprepared and unable to run it properly. Just for some of them to say after "This was too easy."

We get yelled at if we do anything and yelled at if we do nothing.

Edit: Personally, it genuinely feels like no matter what we chose to do, we will continue to be mocked and yelled at for choosing to play the faction we like. This already happened for years before (staff contently routing for rebels to lose, or directly insulting rebel players for playing the faction) and got better. But it seems like we are going back to that. And what is basically a giant "fuck you" directed to the entire rebel player base isn't a good thing to see.

There were arcs in the background that were being developed and rebels were interacting with the rest of the server in unique ways, only to be cut off and be brushed off with 'I don't care, we are going to kill them.' and went on to do it in the brute-forcey way

I'm just hoping that all the efforts an entire research group and several other groups of players don't go to complete waste because I really felt dissuaded of trying anything unique with the rot due to this mindset that we can strong-arm everything

don't think rebels weren't affected by this, they were, but nobody speaks about it

Events are more rewarding for people than the usual on-server play with better RP quality (and are less likely to die in events), so everyone waits around for them.

This compounds over time until people see very little reason to play the main server if an event isn't going on.

actually.png I think that the Benefactors would attempt through techno-scientific means to incorporate the Rot doppelgangers into the Universal Union as a supplemental client species of their multi-universal empire, and I think a viable path forward to such a situation should be established and well sign posted by the ET.

Beyond that recommendation, I am loving this return to Industrial. The simultaneous abundance of memories yet total disconnect with my current batch of characters has been quite enjoyable. Revisiting a not so fresh place with a fresh set of eyes so to speak. The ruined propped and unlockable areas throughout the map feel like some of the best bits of Terminal 7 dialed in almost perfectly.

It really feels like we're approaching the ending of Geneva's story, and I think that's great.

These people need to learn that the event team isn’t going to provide everything on a silver platter to them, if they want to have fun they’ll have to actively be the driving force behind it, as well as being conscious of their impact at large.

Squeezing the event team dry

I respect our Event team they indeed make really nice events. But in my opinion it is a bit too much to have event every night, however we are thankful. My personal opinion is that there should be more events that are created by characters i have done a lot of those in my past but currently i am working on getting power in specific fields on my character to be able to make those again. For example SRI utilisation of workforce for research purposes, doing tasks for ministry of civil protection on officers or equipment, ceremony's, worker contests etc... just use your brain a little it doesn't have to be big effects and adrenaline in order to have good time.

24 is the soul of the server, that is true.

But the beating heart is events outside of it like New Frontiers, Rising Sun, Alaska, Exodus, etc etc etc.

The lifeblood of events reaches all parts of the community body and that builds some of the finest and most memorable moments to exhibit and endure.

I will admit that we have had a bumpy start with i24, but I believe that people are getting into the gist of it - (I know I am but I'm sort of doing my own thing) - and so far I'm enjoying it.

Personally it will be entertaining to see more outside of 24, though it's factual the vast majority prefer the stay at home method of City 24 & i24.

Reading what Sync said he's highly correct on his points being made. It's quite clear there's a desire to go full speed ahead with a looming cloudiness that says "get it all over with already", with a feeling of being dragged along.

Doing things non-combative while taking part in a learning and guessing process is far more intuitive and entertaining than the next gunfight. Hope you can all look out for the headless statues. ;)

My main point is it just feels like anytime stuff happens or there is infestation, combine and rebel people do it instead of CWU, citizens or other people. Could just be my limited view though.

The problem with this is that it compounds on itself. I hate being the "I've seen this before!" guy like I'm a know-it-all but I've genuinely seen what happens when events become the main source of fun for people like this.

It doesn't end in people learning and adapting - it just means if they aren't having fun, they won't force themselves to play. If an event is on or something else fun is happening then they might hop on, but otherwise you've lost that (usually rebel) player for 80% of the main server experience.

I'm not saying they shouldn't adapt, but the only way to do that is to not have so many events which Willard is going to struggle with because events are a big draw.
