In roleplays, there are generally situations involving roleplay among players where luck is a key factor, but rolls are not preferred.
In these cases, a game master may be called to resolve the situation, whether it is a player versus player encounter, or only involving one played character.
I have noticed a common trend, not just in this server, but in all servers.
Sometimes the chances of success for the character involved may be below average - a 30% chance. Low, relatively. However, in these cases, whether or not that chance lands is purely up to the game master.
Why, in these situations, do certain game masters insist on giving these players the short end of the stick, giving them only the worst odds and resolving these situations only with heartache for all parties, in the name of "realism"?
(This has nothing to do with any recent event on this server, just a conversational question)
