I think CP's forget they are the bad guys...

For my character at least, I really does not care about what the generally civies think. We are fighting for the future of the planet and humanity, and he will do whatever it takes to do that, but still try to save as many civs as possible.

From an OCC perspective, i really don't care anymore, I'd rather not be in arguments over a Gmod server for hours. People will complain if cops are too oppressive, or too nice. They will complain when rebels do stuff, and they will complain when they don't. There isn't a way to please everyone and generalizing the different factions' dose nothing, but brew OOC hate, and us vs them shit. I play on the server to have fun. I find rebel to the be the most fun for me, others might like cityrp, or being cops, ect. At the end of the day, this is just a game, where people come to have fun, and i think a lot of people have forgotten that.

Thats my take you fucking nerds, I'm not going to really interact in this kind of threads anymore, other than this one for now, it feels like a waste of time, I'll just play the game, have fun, and try to finish my characters goals.

The only good answer

And you're the reason rebel RP thrives, nothing to hold you back OOC or IC. Better to stick to your guns if it means sacrificing thousands for the life of millions.

Rebels: "We're not the bad guys."

Tbf I still don't know how anyone can think rebels and slum dwellers should tolerate suited loyalists - who could leave and report them - walking around the most dangerous part of town without risk.

At that point its legitimately negligence imo.

It is but if you're defaulting to murdering someone because they're wearing a suit you're not better than the combine.

generic "civil protection need to be more oppressive" post

To be honest, Ron punched his own ticket by walking to the slums to and from. Most people won't prod and won't outwardly show that they're doing something wrong, but a lot of people with the mentality of 'loyalists must die' will take advantage.
Bottomline is however, let the CPs remain a variety. Some are dickheads (in an IC sense, OOC I love all CPs for what they bring to the table), some are good people and casual, some are obsessively loyal and some are blind followers and bootlickers. Let the variety remain and stop whinging about oppressiveness or lack thereof.
As for CPs, getting PK'd in attacks is kind of part of the job, sorry, not much to say on that point. HOWEVER, rebels should get the same treatment in instances where NLR's aren't applied, and CP's should likewise also be spared if the rebel side gets NLR'd. I'm sure this has been done this way already, but I'm just making the point.

Ahem.

> VX Gassing
> Public Executions
> Turning off filtration for rebels
> More public executions
> Using citizens as meatshields

Yup, CPs are defo good guys

Honestly, if I don't get interrupted by kill hungry Rebels I'd just talk with them and want to know their story and then "politely" ask for their armband.

Also that sort of generalization works both ways.

"Rebels are OOCly dead set on remaining Rebels cus they probably spent 3 months of their time grinding for their gear."

Generalization is bad kids... Except when it's funny and/or suits your views.
That’s true too

I mean, MOE doesn't even need to make up a story.

REBELS SABOTAGE DEFENSE AGAINST ANTLION ATTACK - TENS OF THOUSANDS DEAD, SEVERAL DISTRICTS IN RUIN
Oh no rebels didn’t let the combine keep their slave city under control so evil

Yeah it's just weird since every loyalist that goes into the slum is incapable of handing over their shit, most of them either run or fight back. Like you aint gonna fight three guys with kitchen knives.

Playing CP can be similar to walking on Eggshells. A good variety of players expect Civil Protection to be fair, in some way. This is usually in the form of unspoken rules.
- CP cant beat you up without a reason
- CPs need a reason for everything
- CPs cant just take whatever they want from you
These are purely OOC. Usually, when these rules are broken, you'll get a scathing comment in the general chat on how CPs are so biased and unfair.
CPs should be pushing the limits of what humanity can tolerate, though the OOC circumstances heavily reduce this.
Who the fuck said you can't do this? We are encouraged to do this...
Idk where you pulled this out from but we have been several times encouraged to beat up people, the issue?
Don't fucking walk up to someone

<:: alright you can go ::>
... Wtf is that. That's nothing. That's just you being a npc

Walk up to. Someone talk to them, question them, make them shit themselves, grab a loyalist nearby and tell the loyaslit to beat the fuck out of the slummer or tell. Them whoever wins gets a priority coupon you got saved then in the end give them nothing. BE CREATIVE!
I've stolen shit from people just dont steal something too valuable without even allowing them to fight back or have a chance. I see a lot of just cps dragging shit out of people's invs without even /meing it or letting them know
I once told a slummer I was gonna steal. Something form them, I put my hand into their bag rolled and got a super. Shitty roll so I pulled out a leech and groaned in disgust throwing it away and walking off. Leaving the slummer to laugh and snicker for himself.
It was a cool interaction it added this suspense to what would I be able to steal. It was cool and creative.
You can do so much more but you don't do it because you don't want to then you complain that it's ooc restrictions.

YOUR RESTRICTIONS not the FLs not the Staff. No one us holding you back from letting our your creativity in this server. Go wild have fun your FL and the staff team is here to aid you with any issues or questions if you are ever in doubt do not be afraid to shoot them a dm to clear your mind of any worries.

im happy they forgot, so that i dont get arrested for having drip

One thing I will say. When I joined Willard Networks, what kept me around was the sheer brutality and tyranny of the Civil Protection.

Matter of fact, my first day in the server? I got stopped twice, beaten, and had my CID stolen by Civil Protection because I was walking down the street. Guess a pair of boots were having a bad day and took it out on me. I loved it and was instantly hooked.

That is what the Civil Protection is supposed to be in my eyes. Brutal, tyrannical, and evil. You’re supposed to hate them after all, and it was awesome that CP actually gave me a reason to hate them when coming on the server. Honestly it was fascinating and I loved every minute of it. In the server they act more like a gang and boss people around, forcing rules, stealing, beating, even murdering people because they feel like it; because they can do whatever. At the end of the day who are you gonna call, Civil Protection?

There was one scenario where I was walking by the Metropol during low socio-stability. Cops stopped me, frisked me, and they started accusing me of being a “terrorist” and I hadn’t done anything wrong. In fear, I tried to reason with them and was pistol-whipped, and had my teeth knocked out. The Civil Protection in Willard is perfect, and I love the fact that I hate them so much.

Though that’s just me!
