How to not hate rebels, for Combine players.

1. Play rebel and/or slummer for an extended period of time.
2. Treat people how you'd want to be treated.
3. Put yourself in the shoes of others.
4. Don't get baited.
5. Try to make situations with rebels or slummers fun.
6. Don't ever think about being "rebel biased", only people who don't play rebel say that.

You've complained the most about all combine players yet do the most PK hungry things on your rebel against other rebels.
Like what, killing someone over the assumption they've snitched and got someone's life in danegr and that they've spread rumours about me being a Nazi, which almost got me killed one time? That's really PK hungry man, my bad Original Gangster! Let's not forget how I am the sole reason your admin rebel is even alive, really PK hungry on me, huh? Or let's go on about how many rebels I've actually PK'd on any of my rebel characters (A grand total of zero). If you're going to attack me, at least get your facts right.

If you also check regulations now, we can still check your shackles with zero narrative as code black bypasses protection; so you're just complaining more.
I don't care about what the rules say, I care about the playability of the server and the experience of the playerbase. Trying to get a Vortigaunt PK'd with 0 reasons as to why or how and using false assumptions that you can check it, and then when you're provn wroeng you complain...

That's a lot of bad faith and I don't think someone in your position (RL + CT) should do.

However sometimes it's impossible to do so. Such as my bias against vortigaunt players, I have no idea what their lore is or how they work; yet I severely dislike the gameplay that I need to work with against them as a combine player. My problem here is I can't be in their shoes unless I apply and become a vortigaunt. This leads to me personally being PK hungry most of the time, including most of the CP faction, as capturing a free'd vortigaunt is rare and a difficult ordeal; making the PK feel worth it internally but not in good faith. It is why appeals exist as both sides have the right to argue their case and gain a valid conclusion that is fair.
Just because you feel PK hungry for biotics or vortigaunts doesn't mean the rest of the CP faction does. And you don't need to be in the other persons shoes to not be PK hungry for them, it's called common courtesy.

congrats on mentor

Yeah, Combine mains should behave like sub-IQ stunted drones if they aren't already. You're doing something wrong if you guys aren't acting like npc_metropolice. You know what? Scratch that, delete the Civil Protection faction, and replace them with npc_metropolice with patrol pathing. No intelligence unless it's artificial intelligence. Rebel players must feast upon the trough of Civil Protection loot, no matter the cost.

Will admit reece your point is valid here, I do try to play on fair grounds and present good faith.
And I will reiterate, *SOME* of the CP faction, there was an instance where a vort died and it was my fault because I gave into the pressure of 5-6 CP spamming 'kill the vort'; that was bad faith on my end however I told mango to appeal as I personally myself didn't properly understand their situation and regulations involving code black and reshackling in the nexus was icky.

You also ignore the fact that when we get into arguments and debates like these the bias against the other person becomes immense and we WILL eventually become PK hungry for them due to OOC reasons. Human-error remains as human-error and we can't always be courteous.

The fact that me being honest and knowledgable about my bias against vortigaunts is merely giving me flack because 'just be nice' when most of my experience with them is negative since it's my job as a combine player to be the opposition. Now it doesn't mean there aren't any good experiences I've had with vort players but the negatives always outweigh the positives in my shoes as the opposition. When a rebel kills me it's 'okay fair game we both had guns and i lost' but when I'm against a vortigaunt where I have no idea how their sweps work, how their vortessence works in-game or how vort combat works I feel demotivated and frustrated when in my eyes vorts dominate the combat sphere by trashing 5 OTA in two hits during a single sweep out of five, negative experiences outweigh the positives this is just how everyone works.

I know there were balances and nerfs put in place recently however, experiences are learned from the past and that is the experience I'm acquainted with. My view isn't instantly going to change if I don't experience it more. Granted I should create a rebel character and play rebel more; it is my fault for not doing so.

This is why 'simply be courteous' isn't a fully valid excuse. People have bias and the bias can only be changed through experience.
It is why we have middle-men, GMs and staff who AREN'T involved in a situation to confirm which side won.

I am a white tier loyalist. You cannot touch me officer. OK?

I have never played a Metrocop or Combine character in my life and I started out playing Combine Control back when it was popular and widespread. Maybe I do need to see what life is like on the other side of the gameplay loop...

@ClapTrap open up the applications buddy I need an i5

So you got yourself PK?

;)

Was it my fault? Probably, but I would have not been able to pull it off had you not ticked the criterions.

🥱

PKs are a way of role-play. Characters who are old have several characters under their belt whom they have consumed for the character they have today. All the scripts and knowledge consolidated to one player.

🥸

Is this unfair? Absolutely, In-character. However, this is what contributes to the gruel atmosphere in which we role play.

🤧

While they hold all the glory and legacy of being an old character, they hold one flaw. Which is that of an overly refined character that has little room for development.

🤠

Once a character achieves its full potential, it is in otherworldly words no more than a walking corpse.

💀

Those who wander with their new characters are no longer concerned with the grind and able to focus on the role play, while the legacy characters roam with eyes on their back as means to cling to what they hold.

🧐

They don't know how to create from what they have, since all they can do is ensure their own survival. I'd consider this survival a form of purgatory, since it displays the inevitability that these characters lack the function to progress.

o_O

So while we wish to hinder our chance of being PKed, be it through proficience in the PK appeal, tweak of rules or even changing the norms of others. PKs may be more of a blessing than a curse which even then would be an understatement.

The players who are not PKd hold less soul in their character than those that just left the creation menu. As their assumedly legacy role play will be limited to an aimless wander as if in a limbo.

🤩

While with all glory and legacy of being an old character, scripts and knowledge consolidated to one player in the gruel atmosphere which we role play.

Only losers play Rebels & Combine characters...

Get on that grind and start farming Nests on a Bird Char, start making straight dough.Screenshot_20240305-001911_Google.jpg
