So you got yourself PK?
Was it my fault? Probably, but I would have not been able to pull it off had you not ticked the criterions.
PKs are a way of role-play. Characters who are old have several characters under their belt whom they have consumed for the character they have today. All the scripts and knowledge consolidated to one player.
Is this unfair? Absolutely, In-character. However, this is what contributes to the gruel atmosphere in which we role play.
While they hold all the glory and legacy of being an old character, they hold one flaw. Which is that of an overly refined character that has little room for development.
Once a character achieves its full potential, it is in otherworldly words no more than a walking corpse.
Those who wander with their new characters are no longer concerned with the grind and able to focus on the role play, while the legacy characters roam with eyes on their back as means to cling to what they hold.
They don't know how to create from what they have, since all they can do is ensure their own survival. I'd consider this survival a form of purgatory, since it displays the inevitability that these characters lack the function to progress.
So while we wish to hinder our chance of being PKed, be it through proficience in the PK appeal, tweak of rules or even changing the norms of others. PKs may be more of a blessing than a curse which even then would be an understatement.
The players who are not PKd hold less soul in their character than those that just left the creation menu. As their assumedly legacy role play will be limited to an aimless wander as if in a limbo.
While with all glory and legacy of being an old character, scripts and knowledge consolidated to one player in the gruel atmosphere which we role play.
