Short One!

Rebels basically have impunity in targeting anyone with a purple name and a purple armband, allowing them to PK many, many characters over the last several months which has caused a lot of friction in the server. The original rules surrounding targeting CCA members were made when CCA was quite a small faction, meaning that allowing rebels to kill whatever CCA they could get their hands on worked because they weren't really able to get their hands on many. Recently, though, the CCA faction has expanded, and so has the chances of assassination. This resulted in i24 being the assassination capital of Earth, which lead to it's subsequent IC destruction.

With a new map incoming, I think we really ought to have a look over the rebel gameplay loop so that the rampant rebellion activity isn't quite so disruptive to everything else, and I think a good place to start is a CCA Hitlist.

This would mean that CCA members are no longer PK-able by default. Instead, a "hitlist" would be made by whichever rebel lore group of your choosing, or simply something that's OOCly understood. Now, the only CCA members who were PK by default were the ones on the list, perhaps even in exchange for an IC reward such as a bounty or faction reputation. The contents of this list could be dictated by the PK managers, CCA leads, both, or whoever else is willing and able to create one - but it should be relatively limited.

We could also work with a system where rebels can still kill CCA members who aren't on the list, but instead of the "reward" being the PK of that CCA character, they can be given a bounty reward in the form of scripts or reputation, whilst the assassinated CCA member is NLR'd. This would prevent suicide runs on important CCA members from characters who's lives are less valued by their players than the value the CCA players feel for theirs, since there is little use to them due to the NLR consequence and the reward being unobtainable. This would encourage people to actually try to survive their assassination attempts rather than going in with expectation of death. I'm not sure how the reward system would work, given that anyone could ICly claim credit - perhaps planning around obtaining proof that you were the one to kill the CCA could also be incorporated?

Overall, a change to how CCA assassinations should come before map change because this has been really problematic, and a map switch is a perfect opportunity to wipe the slate clean. Having two murder capitals of the world back to back would make it really hard to take anything seriously ICly.

Reacted with a disagree to counteract minge manager Ultima (I hate him)

In any case, I think it's a step up from what we have. As long as the list itself isn't completely arbitrary.

We could also work with a system where rebels can still kill CCA members who aren't on the list, but instead of the "reward" being the PK of that CCA character, they can be given a bounty reward in the form of scripts or reputation, whilst the assassinated CCA member is NLR'd.

This one is a bad idea, however. Essentially you're just upping the chance of CCA members getting gunned down in public. The problem isn't just them being PK'd, it's the fact that they can't RP outside without waiting for guards because some random guy can walk up, shoot them in the head for no reason, then run off. This will happen even more often if you actually reward it, and while it won't lead to PK's, it will lead to the same effect - nobody will want to go outside if they get NLR'd over and over and over again. At best, they'll just grow numb to being possibly killed.

A great move forward

I'm however not a big fan of targetting certain people and then have them NLR and then pretend it's been a random politician's death. That's just my pet peeve.

I'm personally of the idea that there needs to be substantial RP reasoning for a PK, otherwise the whole scenario is voided

It'd likely level the playing field, if we did away with colour coding for CCA meaning that rebels would have to look to other means of identifying their targets in public.

Seems bit cheap when a CCA member goes into public does everything to hide their identity, bluesuits up and such and then you see "UNKNOWN" in purple all confirming that they're some form of CCA member.

I think this is an interesting idea , however If the server was to move on this idea the following would need to happen

CCA Name is changed from being purple

The auto recognize function for them is removed so people can't metagame via the scoreboard

Actually the changes to the whitelist should happen regardless

Anyway, if they want to pk them they gotta work for it and not just instantly see a purple name and hit m1

simple: remove the stupid automatic pk rule and have the rebels need an actual reason to kill them (ie like crown who flooded a homeless shelter)

Yeah a change is needed, giving Rebels still a chance killing them but making it more difficult. Since some people just do a suicide mission type of thing just for the sake of it. Limiting CCA movement, when Bloke was chairman he never left Nexus xD. Imagine playing CCA and doing Checkcrime every 5 minutes... must suck. Can't even interact with them because of that. They never stick around for too long and RP gets reaaally limited.

As of recently in cooperation between the staff team and the CCA faction leads, we have greatly reduced the number of actual characters within the CCA WL already. Going forward, I believe there are plans to cut off unnecessary people from the CCA WL so that people like the Vice-Executive of Economics for example, aren't assassinated without cause or reason besides their armband.

The changes haven't happened yet, but it shouldn't matter since we're on the interim server. Some people such as the CA, VA, and high level CCA event characters should still be under threat - Even myself as Chairman, and my successors should have some threat to the role; however, I am under the belief that the Chairman position will get separate protections due to the nature of the role.

This has partially been solved with the recent tier six guideline retraction, and will only further be expanded upon with CCA positions as Furious and Kamil work to move people like local accountant John Moneybags into a tier 5/6 position instead of CCA so they aren't shot for filing taxes.

This is some nuclear, mayan doomsday cope. None of these issues would exist if you just didn’t dissolve the CCG lmao
