I want to bring attention to an ongoing issue that has been troubling some of us, despite previous attempts to address it.

The character Albertossic's Hulkabin has been excessively aggressive, targeting other humans and vorts. This marks the third time I've encountered this problem. In the sewers, along with Tuki and other rebels, we've faced Hulkabin who has an unusually high amount of HP and armored HP from the vort faction. His health is so excessive that even a vort with advanced beams and two rebels shooting couldn't bring him down to half HP.
When I tried to speak to him, he smashed my head into a wall, dealing over 50 damage per hit with a sledgehammer. Despite not drawing a weapon and attempting to engage in conversation, he attacked me. When we retaliated, he spawned over 15 NPCs, causing massive damage to over seven people present.

Today, I arrived to find him throwing eight snarks at other rebels, incapacitating Celt (CJTN). While I was trying to save CJTN, he attacked me then chased the other rebels, came back while I attempted to save Celt downing me and executed me on the spot. The only roleplay action performed was my head being stomped on. Four rebels, including one with a pulse LMG and myself with a G3, couldn't defeat him despite dealing significant damage. The real problem lies in his portrayal of the character. In all three encounters, he has been overly aggressive and it feels like he's jsut out here to create combat than RP.

This behavior doesn't contribute to meaningful roleplay. Instead, it turns the experience into a sequence of combat events. Where is the roleplay in being smashed into a wall and left floating on the riverbed for over 15 minutes during a "RP scenario"?

This isn't roleplay; it's just a unfair S2K.
I'd also like to request a refund given the nature of my death, not only is it unfair to be two shotted by a 50+ dealing damage vort with a sledgehammer it's also unfair to straddle into this situation once more agaisn't a unkillable, overly agressive enemy whom went back on someone attempting to save another player to just execute them. It doesn't feel right, to die to something like this. Never have I seen staff allow this to happen, specially when dealing with powerful enemies such as: hunters, it's far easier to kill a hunter than to have dealt with this hulkabin. Seen by the fact a vort and 3 rebels managed to end two hunters in the outlands.

I was present for a large chunk of this scenario, and this is my take on it all.

Whilst yes, the grunts are naturally strong, I think the event escalated way too quickly. What, from it turning from S2RP all the way into S2K in a heartbeat. I have engaged this grunt before back in I-24 which did result in people being downed but no one being NLR'ed or killed given the nature of the event plus, the CCR patrol being able to dispatch the GM alongside it's NPC counterparts. I believe that the escalation is what caused this scenario to reach this result and hence this report being made. But I must agree, the health of the GM's Grunt was rather high, it was able to shrug off several grenades, a Pulse Machine gun alongside assault rifle fire from an M16 and G3 as well as other sources of damage present leaving the attending rebels rather out matched in terms of damage output.

EDIT: After being informed on the actual great amount of HP the character had, this fight was completely one sided. Instead of moving towards a grievous wound or significantly harming Talia's character, I did notice the GM move in for the characters death as seen with the image I've linked in the photo. I do believe a refund should be offered. Not only that, in that current vicinity, there was several friendly characters who were all attempting to make an attempt to rescue my character alongside Talia's, both of these characters hadn't been hauled off to be executed and were left in the open for anyone to make an attempt to rescue them.1716917149314.png

Some context to this:

By the time Melissa O'Riley and Maura Azure arrived on the scene, two of the characters in their entourage, Daniel Levi & Luca Carusso, have already tried fighting the hulkabin with their fists, and in fact, you and all the other players returned at the helm of a small *army* to retrieve some items the hulkabin had stolen.

You also were not attacked while "talking to him", you were downed while actively trying to aid another character attacking the hulkabin during an S2K scenario. Then, while your character was lying on the floor continuing the threats ("The Tyrant will hear of this!" and similar statements), somebody tried to run in and rescue Maura, which is why the hulkabin quickly dispatched of her. This was an NLR with no refund, your character was not PKd and no other character was killed or even permanently harmed.

The character at whose side Melissa & Maura arrived, Luca Carusso, had been informed that passage will be unhindered if he answered a riddle in a simple verbal exchange. This was then demonstrated in front of him through the character of Mikhail Roshkov (@Badger ) doing the very same. He then tried to fight the hulkabin by himself, losing, and being stripped of his backpacks before he was returned to the rebels to patch up. He then, more or less immediately, returned in full fighting condition and wielding a minigun, trying his hardest to intitiate combat. EVEN THEN, the character of David Mason (@nath) managed to sneak past the hulkabin and retrieve one of the two backpacks, demonstrating AGAIN that it was possible to engage him without violent escalation. While it is true that your, Talia's, only participation in this exchange was engaging in the combat, that does not in any way mean that I escalated the situation to that point or that there had been no prior opportunities to de-escalate. Maura picked a fight with a big guy, lost, and got killed because you showed no indication of ceasing hostilities even when downed on the ground.

This is also, more or less exactly, how your participation looked at the previous instance of your run-in with the hulkabin: You unfortunately encountered him at the tail-end of escalating tension, did your fair bit to escalate it further, and lost the fight.

I apologise if the S2K stats of the hulkabin were unbalanced, since, as I hope is clear from this characterisation of events, I had no intention of ever including him in S2K combat. I do not escalate situations to the point that they result in S2K combat, and I tried my hardest to make it as quick as possible, and dispatching of characters whose players are incapable of not devolving any exchange into meaningless combat is part of that process.

I understand that you feel treated unfairly, but you were given less leeway than @Cjtn10 because both you as a player AND your character could be expected to be perfectly aware of the ability to de-escalate tensions with the hulkabin peacefully. Cjtn as Melissa O' Riley both did not have this benefit and actually contributed to the RP situation, which is why I regret hearing that you are dissatisfied with the events portrayed, especially since your character was retrieved without any intervention from me or my character and has suffered no negative consequences.

I have no intention to insist on Taliazure's character not being refunded, however in the moment it was a snap decision to not allow any of the other players to run in and try to rescue her, pointlessly escalating combat FURTHER, and I want to push back on the idea that I was meaninglessly trying to provoke combat. I was trying the opposite, and trying very very hard.

I would also like to point out that @z KillerMuffin , @Wraygun and @Stanford were present for part or all of this extremely long chain of events and can hopefully corroborate that escalation originated from the player side, that I took all efforts to avoid the real-time fight, and that I did not encourage any PKs except in the case that Diana Levi was downed a second time.

Also, that many NPCs were spawned because I noticed (or thought to notice) that the HL:A snarks were not actually attacking anybody, so I spawned the old versions in instead.

So I wasn't there for the beginning of the altercation, just the last half of it. However, I will say for the portions I did witness, albert was trying to disengage and mostly be passive. The only times I saw the event character retaliating was from attacks made on him. That being said, take this with a grain of salt since I didn't see the actual initiation of the events.

Iwas mentioning last time Albert. When I walked up to your Hulkabin I offered a piece of steel in exchange for a few words with your hulkabin wich you responded with smacking me across the face, I attempted once more to interact with your Hulkabin to wich I was met with a immediate slam into the wall and downed.
I'm sorry but that situation was horrible, I tried my best that time to speak to him and was met with just being hit over and over. Despite not hitting back. You did overescalate the situation.
Then, while your character was lying on the floor continuing the threats ("The Tyrant will hear of this!" and similar statements), somebody tried to run in and rescue Maura
Wich goes agaisnt the rules, I understand you might not want to PK my character but as the rules stated: "Downed Characters with nearby allies will be able to safely heal them in a reasonable time, they CANNOT be killed unless captured." You still had to drag me away to execute me on the moment given there were peopl who could stop you, plus you didn't give them a chance to. I was killed on the spot without giving the player whom was there the chance to save me.

I did not escalate the situation, I infact arrived to see several snarks be spawned around Celt and Luca surrounding the mcompletely, I was attacked by the Snarks and turned to try and find Celt so I could save her to find you RUNNING straight arund the corner at me hitting me and then directing towards the others who tried to kill the snarks.
I did not escalate the situation given the situation was already at it's peak (S2K), I was there to save Celt and was met with a large unkillable creature charging face first at me along with several Snarks.

Right, I apologise that you were caught in the middle of the crossfire, but if you were entirely uninvolved in the situation except for this ten-second segment, I do not think it's fair to use that as judgement that I unnecessarily escalated the exchange.

I'd like to add my comment since I was the one also present during the fiasco as my character Relja Terzic a.k.a Sniffy.

Everything that albertossic's hulkabin has done has been fair and I don't see the need to make a report. The characters that were directly involved in conflict were more confrontation-oriented against a literal buffoon of an alien - it was a simple fuck around and find out situation. On the other hand, even though it seemed that the hulkabin was violent (which is according to their nature, lorewise), albertossic gave all the characters that were involved multiple chances to collect items, back off and not fight the alien but others chose otherwise. Even after fighting the alien, albert refrained from attacking further and gave more chances for the situation to go passive when realistically the hulkabin should've gone berserk.

Hello @Taliazure

Astro, Bassailisk and myself have been looking through the logs, we went through 72 Pages of logs to make sure that @albertossic was rping properly and we found no evidence of him not doing so. The fight was initiated by the Rebel side, first starting as a S2RP but then it suddenly turning into a S2K Kill zone. You were given a NLR no refund, which was the correct verdict by Albertossic. The only thing that Albertossic shouldn't have done is giving himself too much HP and Armor

Before the fight

[2024-05-28 15:41:47] Birrmanek'Tin ran SAM command 'hp' with arguments: 'birr' '990'
[2024-05-28 14:05:43] Birrmanek'Tin ran SAM command 'armor' with arguments: 'birr' '1000'

After the fight

@albertossic here is a verbal warning to you, refrain from giving you too much HP & Armor in the future. You are a Event character which should bring fun & character development to the players. With that being said, the NLR no refund stands
