Three years have passed since the Great Bear and the Bull clashed at Hoover Dam. That titanic collision of armies and ideologies nearly saw the Legion overwhelm NCR defenses, yet the Bull’s own overconfidence proved its undoing. Through the efficiency of the NCR Rangers and the Legion’s failure to adapt to the realities of Old World conventional warfare, the Republic secured a pyrrhic victory.


Enraged by defeat, Caesar cast aside his Legate, condemning him to the fires and hurling him into the great canyon. The wound, however, was far from mortal. Caesar’s true prize remained just beyond his grasp: New Vegas—the city of dreams. A beacon of progress and enlightenment amid a world of barbarism and ruin, standing astride the great river that divides Nevada from the territories of Arizona.


By the dictates of the Hegelian dialectic, the clash of these opposing forces was inevitable.


In the end, there can be only one ruler of the Mojave.

A Short Story concept with the intention of bringing a Fallout New Vegas story into the mix. Posting this here to gauge interest in such a concept. If garnered enough attention (I'll apply for SS, k) perhaps it will become an actuality.

If there is interest from both the players and the SS management, perhaps the establishment of a narrative team could be made present. So far there are two possible ways to conduct this.

1) Divide the Short Stories into chapters with more specific detail regarding the follow-up to the NCR-Legion War which would also include prelude events to the main story. These episodes depending on the outcome could potentially change the course further up. Pre-written narrative with the potential of change favoured over player-based freedom.

Episode format example:

Sacking of Navarro

NCR-Khan War

NCR-Brotherhood War (Battle for HELIOS One)

Destruction of the Divide

2) Focus the event solely upon one specific location to allow more player-based freedom and activity; with the NCR-Legion conflict sliding into the picture slowly. Shifting focus from the NCR and Legion as active factions and more based upon free character creation.

3) Merge the two somehow, combining an episodic tale followed up by a main narrative event with player-based freedom included.

Chapter I - The Sack of Navarro

Anno 2274

Three years prior to the Battle (First) of Hoover Dam.


The NCR-Enclave war initiated by President Tandi after 2240 is reaching its climatic end. The decade-long struggle has ultimately culminated with the Bear triumphing over the Enclave menace. Unable to unify behind a leader after the death of President Dick Richardson during the early years of the war, the Enclave has been reduced to mere scrap of its former presence.

In the region of Navarro, the Army of the Bear has begun to encircle the last remaining foothold of the Enclave. Driven by the militaristic and hawkish ambitions of newly appointed President Kimball, the New Californian Republic seeks the precious technology harboured by the Enclave remnants and the annihilation of its enemy to consolidate its hold over the entirety of the Californian coast.


It is clear that the Enclave cause is lost-.... Survivors scatter around the leadership of Gannion Senior, the Commander of the Enclave outpost of Navarro. With only a few dozen survivors with the combat capacity of about twenty to thirty men and women; the Enclave faces the nearly 3,000 strong Republican Army.

Surrounded on all sides, the Enclave must choose whether to stand its ground and die fighting, surrender to the NCR or flee with their lives precious…

- This narrative serves as the opening chapter, introducing the Enclave and the NCR. The Enclave characters that survives will reprise the main story as scattered remnants, whilst the NCR players will be able to continue their story forward. This serves to create a fulfilling background to the lore and a general test to the Short Story itself. General Fallout lore has been somewhat changed and corrected to satisfy a better timeline, giving way for more possible player-freedom and characters. Might come to change in the duration of the creation-phase.-

Under the command of General Lee Oliver, the NCR has begun to amass its army to storm the Navarro outpost with the goal of eradicating the Enclave resistance and retrieving vital technology of the old world to boost its military capacity. Strengthened by the enormous military industrial complex of the Republic, the veterancy of its soldiers and its effective and lethal NCR Rangers; the Republic has essentially cut the Enclave off with the intention of crushing it hammer and anvil style....

The last remnants of the Enclave on the west coast. The war with the NCR has decimated the Enclave and scattered its forces. Reorganising its battered forces at the old Poseidon oil refinery, the Enclave finds itself fighting a battle that cannot be won. Under the leadership of Gannion Senior, these patriots of old America must decide whether or not they shall stand and fight, or flee for their lives....
