Ban certain NPCs from being spawned in the sewers

Hello, so recently i have started playing as a rebel more, grinding in the sewers for a loot. I'd say that RebelRP has vastly improved from what it was in november. But there is still one problem i can think of the top of my head, and that is certain NPCs in the sewers who are incredibly difficult, incredibly annoying or in pretty much both in every case to deal with. I am here to propose a banlist for said NPCs, so uhh...Yeah let's get into it

NPCs that SHOULD be banned from the sewers:

Bullsquids:
Now persoanlly i don't really consider bullsquids to be enemies, i'd consider them more of roadblocks and sometimes even complete walls. If you want to kill a bullsquid you HAVE to have a gun or another unconvential way of retreiving a projectile, This is because attempting to get into the meele range of a bullsquid is usually suicide as bullsquids deal heavy meele damage (I believe they cause around 30 DMG, possibly more) And if that wasn't bad enough, it turns out the bullsquids were apart of bottlestreet as they all seem to have aimbot on their fucking projectile. Merely peaking your head out to greet a bullsquid with be met with acid on your face. The main issue with bullsquids is that they are an obstacle which can sometimes hard lock you out of the sewers (if they are close to the entrance) with their extremely accurate and deadly acid spit, you are unable to kill a bullsquid without a gun, and it turns out not everyone in a loyalist city has a gun, what a shock!

Houndeyes: I think everyone can agree with me here that Houndeyes should not only be banned from the sewers but also banned from wilards entirely, why you may ask? The Houndeyes are fucking minges, they hate following rules, you can politely ask them to wait their turn on TBC they'll responding with raping you with their sonic blast, firing it even it's not their turn like the dirty powergamers they are. Not only that but i swear the range on their sonic blast is fucking ridiculous. You can social distance all you want from that demonic beast but it'll still find a way to hit you two metres apart. The main issue with houndeyes is that they're gay, fuck houndeyes.

(HL1) Headcrabs: Now at a first glance you may think that this seems extreme but bare with me, not only do HL1 Headcrabs do double the damage of a normal headcrab, it turns out that HL1 are trained in the art of the shinobis, they will jump around at the speed of light scoring hit upon hit upon hit on you as you struggle to hit them as they jump away too fast for you to land a hit unless you have a sharingan. The problem with HL1 headcrabs is that they're too fast, too strong and are not needed as we have regular headcrabs which are perfectly balanced, as all things should be.

NPCS that SHOULD be considered for being banned from the sewers

HLA Antlions: I don't exactly know what to say about HLA Antlions...They're just Antlions but meaner...

Fast zombies: Fast zombies are kind of annoying, the main reason why i don't think they should definitely be banned is that there not broken, they're only annoying as they are fast enough to keep up with you and can potentially chase you out of the sewers, they're rarely used so i don't even know why i'm bringing them up :/

What is okay to be in the sewers then?

I personally think that the sewers should 90% of the time consist of HL2 headcrabs, normal zombies and regular antlions, the main reason for this is that you are not forced to fight these enemies and are not an extreme roadblock. Avoiding enemies should always be a choice instead of praying some webuls with guns go down there and deal with them.

So in conclusion. Fuck Houndeyes, Fuck HL1 headcrabs and a big fuck you to bullsquids, suck my dick. I wish every reader of this a very pleasent and bullsquid free evening

The sewers have become an incredibly more rewarding place with the new trash changes, and so they've also become more dangerous. NPCs that ignore TBC will be avoided, but there's nothing wrong with dangerous NPCs. You want the reward, you also get the risk.

(HL1) Headcrabs:

Highly against this as these are the only Headcrabs that pose even a remote threat to anyone.

To get killed by a normal HL2 headcrab is to dabble in the art of tomfoolery. I would doubt a standard HL2 crab has ever managed to down even the most incapable players. I believe the only way a normal crab could possibly kill you, is if a Schizophrenic headcrab whitelist holder finally snapped and began stabbing you with a knife they got from Indigent somehow.

Poison Crabs are OP and bullshit, so they are pretty much never spawned. Wish they weren't, but it is what it is.

Fast crabs are fairly powerful - but for the wrong reason. Watching people desperately battle Source hitboxes with a small enemy on speed is quite frankly some of the finest entertainment you can find on Willard. Were it not for my self-control, I think it would be the thing I do the most.

HL1 crabs are a decent middle ground. Damaging enough to actual provide some reasonable threat, while not being so nimble that they are impossible to hit.

I understand this but feel as if they are too nimble imo, you don't really get a chance to react agains them, if we added like a half a second delay to the headcrabs jump they'd be more balanced

There is no risk with arguably 2 out of the 3 NPCs i requested for a ban, they are arguably broken (especially the houndeye) Either nerf them or simply ban them

Houndeyes are dangerous only in packs, to which their damage per houndeye in a group can be doubled, tripled or even quadripled with their shockwave range increasing per one. We don't spawn packs because they will instant kill you.

What we heavily frown upon is NPCs being spawned at entrances and exits unless they manage to somehow get there by themselves, or the NPC threat is minor and their numbers, miniscule.

Our system is that the more you dwell into the sewers, the further the threat level becomes. It is the way of things, and with the new infestation mechanics, they also play a role in that regard.

... But I agree with one point and that is bullsquids. They're rather OP and ignore TBC to which they'll simply be added to the list of "Do Not Use" unless it's strictly player controlled.

I did manage to murder a man with my headcrab once, the damage is doable and frankly quite horrid to those unarmored. (I was using pills given to me) but yeah overall the headcrab is pretty much a decent balanced enemy to those without armor and in packs can pose more of a threat then really anything else because of their hitbox alone.

Flashback to when I was in the sewers as a simple scavenger, 100hp with no armor, bullsquid shoots at me and I'm like half hp...

NOT TO MENTION THERE WAS ONCE A POISON HEADCRAB THAT WAS AS FAST AS A FAST HEADCRAB HOPPING AROUND TRYING TO KILL ME

That'll have been a player on a headcrab whitelist most likely, but them running around at that speed grinds my gears. There's a thought atm to deal with that, dev wise. lmao

Man, seeing a poison headcrab at match speed trying to eat me was some serious threat

I remember that Guy yeah...This is why whenever I play a creature I don't go /Me "launches at your legs" immediately without you seeing them as it just ruins the whole "Xen interaction" and let's all be honest...

It's annoying

A normal headcrab managed to instakill me while I’m on full health. That was a couple months ago.

I saw a poison headcrab morph run fully submerged in a water tunnel even though it should drown. It’s cursed.

We do try and make npc spawns fair, but if your char isn't equipped to deal with threats beyond essentially "free meat" you shouldn't go down there.

The HLA antlion thing is a bit extreme, Again the HLA antlions are just armored antlions.

We're all here to have fun. I understand if the sewers are meant to be a dangerous place, but to have it overkill too is a bit nonsense and takes away the fun.

I mean, personally ive never had an issue. There r plenty of options. It being harsh opens up RP. Since, going alone is dangerous and it encourages players to group up and use their combined strength to progress. Ive seen a lot of ic friendships form from helping one another fight npc's. And of course, if u are careful, you can always avoid them and escape. Which encourages not just sprinting at full speed with 0 cares in the world only to bump into something dangerous
