City 24 Country-Side

So we have a great open city map that pushes the Source engine's limits. I'm aware that V4 still needs work for more optimizations and fixes. It's a great map so far. But what is the possibility that we will get a map specifically designed outside City 24?

We know that City 24 is in Geneva Switzerland with beautiful mountains and forests outside the city walls. (Or so we think?) Would it be possible to add outskirts to our main map, or would that simply be too much for the engine? Alternatively, we could make a separate map altogether that takes place outside City 24 for events and whatnot. I know it would be a lot of work for anyone interested unless they made it a group project, But I would like to see people's interpretations of what outside city 24 is like.

That's probably too much. C24 is pushing the limits due to how much detail is incorporated into the map as it is, plus how infamously unreliable the Source engine can be when it comes to bigger projects.
In addition, outland locales always attract players because of the misconception that there's exciting scenarios to be had out there. Too many players run into the outlands and it becomes hell - ruining both citizenRP and dumbing down rebelRP.

If it were to be implemented, it would have to be a separate map entirely. Think for example the OG t&b City-8 maps.

Outlands/outskirts is a cool idea and can be used, but it'd need to be either a separate server which would split the player base with warps between servers. Or need to be a separate map that we switch to every now and then, but why would you bring the whole pop to one map. I loved outlands rp back in the day, but it always tends to kill servers.

Not possible to have it on the same map, unfortunately.
As for a separate City 24 Outlands map for events or the Short Stories server, I think that'd be cool, but I doubt @Atle would be willing to start a big project such as this one from scratch.

Yeah, the biggest drawback is the HOURS AND HOURS of work to put into a countryside map. Unless it were a group effort with some other mappers.

All jokes put on ze side, it is a nice idea but dear sweet holy mother of cucumbers I can't carry out another map at present, it is a ton of work so unfortunately I'll have to decline that part. It might be possible later on to do a seasonal outland sort of server but for now our focuses lie elsewhere
