@Robusted Seb'ster is the staff member who organized this event, or so I'm told, so I'm tagging him to make his counterargument
There are way too many disorganized events that disregard what players are currently doing on server. In this case, an event was hosted where some invincible, Xen-spore infested bald man was terrorizing a residential block, while Civil Protection was occupied with defusing a debacle between a good chunk of civie players
Civil Protection naturally had to respond, which was an acceptable circumstance, but suddenly they start dropping like flies and screaming for help while we're still occupied with civies and hosting decent RP on our own - so naturally, ALL of Civil Protection responds, ditching the civies early and thereby highlighting how staff don't know how to account for what players are currently occupied with, before hosting giant murder-spree events
On top of that, the event character being played powergames- soaks up a good barrage of fire according to one of the units I spoke to, then kidnaps one of the units and runs off on the residential block balcony where he then just noclips right in my line of sight, as I'm about to have my turn during TBC, which evidently didn't matter considering his godded state
Next we're told the CiviPro unit is ALREADY at the canals and being taken out of the entire sector, somehow, in the timespan of five minutes, offering us little to no player agency to go help our fellow unit out.
..another ten minutes pass before we're told the kidnapped CivPro is back at the train station safe and sound, because a loose manhack hit the Xenian-man and this caused it to let go of our abducted unit.. who somehow instantaneously made his way back to the train station
this event is:
1. nonsensical in its structure
2. inconsiderate of current player circumstance before its execution
3. too eager to deny players the agency they need to have some fun out of this event; powergame
I don't have anything against Robust personally, but I want main server events to stop being so objectively shit
