WARNING! MASSIVE COMBINE PLAYER COPE INCOMING! WARNING! MASSIVE COMBINE PLAYER COPE INCOMING!
ADVERT YOUR EYES!
1. What are your first impressions or thoughts?
I was present at the workshift when the OCIN blackout occurred. I remember the rush of adrenaline as I sat on OTA and waited for what came next. I really, really, really wanted something cool to happen, evidently, basically nothing did,
2. What do you like about it?
I like how it's granted factions like CCDE and CFO to sit back and start planning for what happens after. I like the whole "We will rebuild" mindset.
3. What do you hate about it?
Where do I even begin? I suppose I'll start with Overwatch. During the majority start of the arc, notices were only occasionally given to OTA by Astro because OCIN was down. The event started out to be really fun for OTA, but then it just.. slowly died. Most of the time, OTA was sitting around doing nothing while cops shot NPCs a few feet away. I get that I shouldn't rely on OTA as my main source to play a faction, and that OTA never mixes well with citizenRP, and that we shouldn't take the jobs of cops, yet to me it feels like such a letdown.
So, after seeing the writing on the wall, I decided to go play different factions. Issue is, I can't play CWU because workshift logging is down. What about my store then? Surprisingly, all is well!
So I tried to play Civil Protection, and I have never been more disappointed. Seriously, what the fuck is the deal? At first, cops were given actual liberties, but now, out of fear of distrusting the status quo, basically everything is the same again, except we get shot if we go to the slums or whatever. There are no mass executions, firefights, barely any sign of crisis. It's like we're on socio blue but with better guns.
This event is just a parrot of the Antlion Arc. Same characteristics. A district closed off as no-mans land, food shortages, etc. The only thing we're missing is ammunition running out. Not to mention the rebels, who CONTINUALLY get the sharp end of the stick up their ass seemingly every arc. We shouldn't just restrict the fun to combine, give rebels SOMETHING to do! Because god knows they won't do it themselves, and GMs wont allow it. Even on the Antlion Arc rebels were BEGGING for something to do, why didn't they get listened to?
4. What do you believe can be improved for the next Arc when one arrives again?
- Give rebels shit to do.
- Make shit actually intense. Make it seem like we're genuinely in crisis.
- Threaten the status quo, change it, even.
5. Any closing thoughts or words?
I really hope you change things.
