Role: Geneva's 103rd Antlion Battalion - Surviving Loyalist Remnants
Character Name: Jørgen Stær
Character Bio:
Born in Odense, in the Danish Kingdom's island of Funen, Jørgen Stær was only 14 when the Black Mesa incident occurred, and the portal storms began to rage. In his younger years he was intrigued by history, and was always seeking more to learn -- Always dwelling on the past. Though, as the portal storms spread across the European continent, his interests diverged off into medicine. In this new world brought about by the constant shift in the nature, the ever-living xenian flora and fauna, there was always somebody whose life might depend on the availability of a medic.
He could be described as a friendly person, though often keeping to himself when not offering aid to those in need. His self-discipline assisted in his medical practice, but could sometimes be overshadowed by his anxious and somewhat impulsive behavior. As the storms brought about the transformation of the planet, more and more people would be in danger, and more people would require somebody to look over them. Though the storms were not safe, it certainly wasn't as dreadful as the invasion.
In 2004, the Combine invaded Earth in a tale that almost all remember as if it were yesterday. Stær was 17, and physically fit enough to be accepted into the civil populace, though the Combine sent Jørgen to ECHELON Facility Alpha in Belfast to educate him in their own way. He especially focused himself whenever the topics of medicine, or the underlying topics of medical practice were brought up. Months of education, eventually led to him advancing his interest of the medical field even more - Though that semblance of intrigue that was present when he was a child, when he liked concepts of history, wars, and civilizations.... He questioned himself as his life continued under the Universal Union, "What would life have been like before this?", never really sure what we would have gone on to do if the enslavement of the human race never happened - Never truly entangled by the Combine propaganda.
Constantly being transferred between cities, furthering his medical knowledge through serving under the local medical offices or assisting those he could after they were beaten, injured in a work cycle, or attacked by any xenian malignancies. His adult years passed, and he constantly committed himself to learning more and more about his field of interest, and medical practice. Though never finalizing his knowledge or career, nor truly being able to befriend anybody due to the constant relocations. As he approached his thirties, he acknowledged that it would be in his best interests to sign up for the Overwatch Forces' Auxiliary Arm before he was unfit, or too old.
Upon transfer to City 24 in 2018, he submitted his application to the OAA and was accepted after a short while of processing. After he was Enlisted into the 103rd Antlion Battalion, he began to tolerate the miserable life under the Combine a little more, that was until late 2018. His unit was assigned to the islands of the former United Kingdom for an operation, where he remains to this day, currently stuck behind enemy lines - Supplies running dry, and danger increasing by the day, silently praying to himself to be rescued from the hell hole he is in.
