This seems to have been a recurring issue within the community with gas masks giving the argument that the voices are muffled.
Clockwork had a feature that I don't think Helix has yet (Considering Helix is fairly bare bones.)
You used to be able to type ? before you'd say something, for instance -
? Hey put your hands up - Would end up like
Someone says "Hey put your hands up."
Is this feature possible to be implemented into Helix? We already know CP masks have a vocoder filter (putting <:: and ::>) with everything you say after putting it on.
Perhaps an easy way around this would be to place a similar text around people speaking with a gas mask, that can be decided by development. IE an example, saying something in a gas mask could change your text to Bob Good says "<<< I am going to get rations delayed. >>>"
Another way would be to just implement the Clockwork way of things where it just changes their name when they equip the gas mask.
Thoughts? Additional ideas? Yes, no?
