SUGGESTION: Make the food found in rations deplete strength and speed, similar to how the water depletes int/perception.
Feels way too easy for my character to survive off of rations. Sure, she doesn't have to drink the water, but she can just throw the water away and buy a drink at a vending machine with a ration coupon that'll easily keep her fed. This suggestion would make it harder and more depleting to stay fed without your stats getting fucked, and it'd help amp up the challenge of remaining a free being in a dystopian world. Would make it a bit harder to gather supplies for resisting with more of your budget allocated toward viable food/drink options, but it would make the outcome a lot more rewarding after your struggle.
(This has probably been posted before, but I'm posting it as my first real suggestion as personally survival as a citizen feels way too easy for me. I might just be accustomed to the setting after playing HL2RP for a long time, but sometimes it feels more like I'm playing a dystopian joyride than actually having to fight and struggle to keep my character alive. With something as simple as this, I think it'd make a big change in my characters' routine, seeing as one of her main options for staying well-fed has now been fucked with, like the water.)
EDIT: On top of this, it just feels like OOC cheating for tons of characters to eat the paste but throw away their water, knowing its' poison. If I was told by someone to not drink the water from the rations, ICly I wouldn't eat the paste too, because it's probably both poisoned to keep you weak and stupid. It also just generally makes the game harder and more dystopian for rebel OCs so, yknow. People may say strength/speed debuffs aren't going to be a problem, but I think taking a big hit to your speed would make it really really easy for a Civil Protection Officer to catch up and apprehend you. If I had my way, all UU food and drink would have similar effects, why is it incredibly easy for me to drink an attribute boosting tea from a UU vending machine with the credits I got from my regular ration? Doesn't feel like the boot is deep in my character's back enough.
