Steam Name: Gutsy
SteamID: STEAM_0:1:18485849

Name of the Admin you were banned by: Furret No Furry Asimo
How long is the ban for?: 43200 Minutes
The reason you were banned?: Excessive chip looping
Why do you wish to be unbanned?: Because I want to play the server.
Do you have any picture or video evidence to support your reason?:

There's no pictures or video evidence to support my reason, Sure I saw a good deal at the smuggler and I spend alot of time on the server making Chips. However I don't think the 7-8k in my inventory is excessive, furthermore I also did not know that that price was unintentional. There's no rules against finding a good deal on this server. It not only cost me Chips, but time as well. It's no more of an "Infinite money Loop" as taking rations for Credits or any other way of making a living.

A good example of similar costing things are Blood Stabilizers at 97, so how was I supposed to know that bloodbags at 100 chips is an exploit?

Were there any witnesses who can help in this appeal?: (List the steam and/or character names of them or tag them)
Who can even witness this, i'd argue that it should be proven I did it with Malicious intent first.

Not here to approve or deny, or even argue. I do want to add something though.

According to the DB, it appears that you've gained 4,735 chips in the last ten days (from 09/06 to now).

I don't even know if that's good or bad because, don't forget that some of the times that Bloodbags were sold as well were because of drops from the med crate. Nor do I know what this staff team deems a regular amount of chips.
Mint, can you check how many hours I played over the last 10 days as well so that the staff team can see the chip-per-hour ratio? I do not believe this is excessive at all.

To be fair, most people make a good 10k in less time. 4.7k in 10 days is basically below average income for some larger rebels- lone rebels I expect a good 2-5k per week from on average depending on playtime and knowledge of systems.

Anyway- not here to approve or deny since no one even knows who on Earth is even in charge of that but I am going to state here my breakdown:

Starting with the way this ban was carried out, I heavily disagree with. Its a type of ban which was shoot first, ask questions later type of ordeal and while I was in agreement with the bans myself at the time things were discussed, I also voiced disagreements regarding perma bans given a few key circumstances that MUST be taken note of regardless of the situation:

- The first is that our own Ruleset while mention Exploitation is indeed forbidden, it is known that Chip Loops have never ever been punished in the past except for 1 or 2 circumstances which ended with a slap on the wrist of a warning. That was just for a chip loop which resulted in around 60,000+ chips entering someones pockets. Of course, the chips were cleaned out in the end and I have been told this is apparently more serious because chips were distributed among players. But I won't hold back when I say "That's Bullshit" given there is easy solution to also clean the chips out here too- just clean out the containers and inventories of all group members who got the chips until it adds up to the total cost of damages done.

This way punishment is served and warning can be done easy peasy.

- Secondly, nothing in both past and current circumstances has ever called for a ban for chip looping. While it has been considered in past situations, there was no way anyone could've known that the loop would lead to a ban. Sure you could argue they knew it was bad and some did by trying to keep it a secret- others using it very lightly either out of uncertainty or backing out. But even still I wouldn't say it warrants a perma ban. This goes against the very core of the Guidelines and Ban policies we have in place of how they should be handled.

- Thirdly, Members of both staff and CT have done chip loops in the past and if we are going to ban those who have looped in the present, it should be applied fairly across the board in response, given any quick message history check around chip loops mention it is Allowed. Trying to say "That was a year ago" is a scape goat for a bad decision and a failure to note that there is nothing saying or telling players "Don't loop" other than us patching them when brought up, but that still doesn't say "Yeah, this is bannable" to anyone outside of the inner circles where this decision took place.

- Fourth, I am stating very bluntly but some of the members banned are first time offenders first of all, the only time we ban first timers is when they are doing something to drastically fuck the server like DDoS, Doxing, Hacking, Third-Party Modifications which provide advantage, etc or game breaking bugs and exploits. And before you go "Chip Looping is game breaking" to which I would say yes to in most circumstances, here I have to give the benefit of the doubt given that to me, Chip Looping is as much as game breaking as it is a economic annoyance which is fixable in just a few seconds from the DB- from reports- this person sold 250 blood bags roughly for what is 25000 chips, take the cost of making them away and you get 13684 chips, now our worst offender for chips through Willard history got up to around 150-200k chips I believe before having them removed, the chips that is- I will try find the exact number if I can had the logs saved around 1-2 years ago and that person got off with a warn. They too distributed. That was a long time ago... really early days. The more recent one as mentioned was 60k+ chips for a warn... and a dude who made 13k basically is perma'd?

And to add onto the above, for the reason why I don't see this as game breaking is simply because a wipe is indeed not far off and quite a few Rebels already know it. You may argue they didn't and doesn't justify the ends, but the amount and circumstances doesn't justify the ban either. This is very shaky and gray grounds the ban is built on, a month ban I am okay with as per the original discussion, a perma ban is unjustifiable regardless of what way you spin it.

Overall, I don't really care about month long bans for such even though that too for some of our other offenders is a bit iffy as well to me. My main concern is perma bans shouldn't really be on the table.

I will update the rulings to clarify that Money exploits in the future will be treated in the same category as gamebreaking in the future if that is how we want to go, but for now, this ban sits on a very big gray area and has shaky foundations.

Robert, I wish I had that kind of money, 250 bloodbags is 25k my man.

You won't find anything in my inventory to recover that, plus my AK and mags were done completely legitimatly through the sale of an AR2, heavy armor and grenades which Willum can attest that I gained the funds from that.

Someone gave me the wrong math, give me a few seconds to fix the formula

The "250 Instances" are 250 times they have been sold I am guessing, bloodbags are sold as 1 charge 100 chips. There's no WAY I produced 250 full bloodbags, no way in hell. 250 x 100 = 25,000

Robert did the math of 11,316 in production which sounds about right.
25,000 - 11316 = 13684
This is assuming all 250 instances were me exploiting the loop, when I hit the medcrate often as well.
I have produced 2 large bags of ammunition of 9,280 (Buying refined chems and beer)
One for me, one for Tiny so we can even go on the expedition tomorrow.
I also helped contribute resources to the rebuild of the crafting stations for the HEX after they were mysteriously unbolted and dissappeared.

I have 7k remaining. They, are my finances.

My AK, my heavy armor, my grenades, and my stuff in the cave were all acquired before I started this "Loop" through traditional grinding and a startup of 7000 given to me in the form of an AR2 from Anders (Willum) which I sold to Hunters cell. The equipment arrived to me the day after the Cave was collapsed which Basilisk and Travis can attest. Basilisk because I asked about it after the Delivery was Late, Travis because he's the BMD I purchased from.

I have been on 2 events, which resulted in Hunters cell getting 2 AR2s (Once again Basilisk can attest to this)
I have defended against 3 OTA raids of 2-3 waves each the first of which left me in a downed state and almost died. (Willum can attest to this)
The Second and third were in the caves after the Apostles did one thing or another and caused OTA to come down on us.
The 2 events with hunters cell? No rewards for me, just AR2s for them. Part of the reason for that is that I escorted the under-armed back to the caves away from safety.
15k was given to Esto to give out, 10k was given to hunters cell. I was given Nothing.

If people want to talk to be about PK risk being important for high rewards, then explain to me why I was put into 5 different PK situations and get 0, zilch from it.
I had to find a way to efficiently upkeep myself considering I was getting shafted out of rewards and I think looking at these numbers anyone can agree I have done nothing more but keep myself in a position where if I RP, or get shafted on another reward in another event or expedition then I can recover from it.
I didn't see it as an exploit, or a loop, the only thing I saw it as was the ability to efficiently upkeep myself so I can continue Roleplaying.
