HL2RP Player Stereotypes based on their favorite factions

You forgot one.

Sector Admin - Has a God Complex. Only in the position because he knows the owner really well, or is (or one of) the owner himself. Seems to be really into politics, but 9/10 lacks a college education. Despite this, they are typically the friendliest member in the community and relieve their stresses of maintaining the server by bullying the City Administration.

Conscript stereotype: extremely based, not obnoxious, never ERPs, the best players on the server by far. Like mil rp, like normal rp, just the best, best ,best ,best.
 
Conscripts/Human Union Soldiers: These guys really just like the Vietnam-era aesthetic for the most part and they for some reason have a really weird attachment to Half-Life: Opposing Force. They can be erpers, but for the most part that side was locked in what was Shockcore. Otherwise, they do good roleplay sometimes but due to the fact that a lot of people use the faction to create joke characters and rogues are almost a constant given how the systems are usually established, the faction is almost never on server and is just used for events or mentioned in passing by edgy chars on City RP.

Anti-Citizens/Rebels - On the outside they seem like chill individuals who are great friends, and this is partially true, but they are absolutely unhinged. Either completely retarded, or fucking insane. Will try to avoid any form of accountability or responsibility, and will weasel their way out of any accusation if you let them. If they are part of the largest rebel group, always assume that they have at least 3 or more close friends in the community as part of a group. These people came with them to the server, and are planning to fuck over your server completely. Will defend each other no matter how wrong they are. 50% chance that rap is their favorite genre of music/

Civil Protection - Are not over the age of 20. The quiet/awkward kid in school who has huge power fantasies, but is too scared to be labelled edgy in RP so they'll pull the "My character has issues :(" card and then call you a shit roleplayer if you expose them on this. Whether they flip out, or try to act smug, they will seethe inside if you make fun of Civil Protection players or the Civil Protection, but they deserve it. Loves Shower RP, Lunch RP, training RP, internal re-education RP, and basically anything other than doing their job. Also likely a weeaboo.

Overwatch Transhuman Arm - Got lost on the way to an ARMA 3 server. Doesn't even know what a roleplay is even if they claim to know, nor do they know how to RP. Similar to CP in that they have a power fantasy but completely realize it and will relish in the fact. Will gladly ruin your RP. Has an autistic level of knowledge on military jargon that they will never need IRL. If of serving age, they tried to enlist in their countries military but got turned away for medical reasons. Will have a breakdown if you even hint that OTA can fail.

Enslaved Vortigaunt - Absolute weirdo. Is either a complete sadist, or a masochist, no inbetween. Have an autistic obsession with Half Life lore. Might as well have borderline personality disorder. Can be absolutely serious and logical in one second and then turn into a literal retarded mess in another. Will pretend to be your friend but secretly hates your guts.

Freed Vortigaunt - Also a weirdo, but is self absorbed about it. Will do the craziest shit in your server and then freak out if you object to it. Also autistic about Half Life, but specifically about vortigaunts. Have Vortigaunt ERPed at least once in their time in HL2RP. Will leave your server if you PK their Vortigaunt, no exceptions.

Civil Worker's Union - Actual bonafide beta. The biggest pushover in the community. Whether they cry and complain or sit in silence, they crumple under any resistance. Will likely get banned for something they didn't do and then fail to get their ban appealed. May or may not be a complete sicko IRL (pedo, dog-fucker, etc) but will likely get accused of being as such anyways.

Civil/City Administration - The most self-absorbed person in the server. They think they are the absolute best players in the community, but despite being in their position, they have no clue how to roleplay a social interaction, and perhaps the most uncharismatic when it comes to speeches and leadership. Will try to ERP with Civil Protection characters, but never for a narrative. They are guaranteed to only do so to get off and you'll be able to tell. Have the memory of a goldfish. Strangely knowledgable in math.

Xen Creatures - Either incredibly quiet, or incredibly loud, no inbetween. Actual psychopaths who have guro fetishes, and will go into extreme detail as they rip your character apart. Will powergame like a motherfucker so they don't feel like an NPC. On forums, they'll complain about anyone who has a character picture that doesn't look sad, angry, dirty, or stressed because they aren't "realistic" enough.

Bird/Scanner Whitelist - These people are NEVER in a server to RP, no matter how much they say they are. They are minges in disguise.

here’s a cursed thought. Since valve directly approved HDTF’s creation as a standalone, paid game, but had no part in creating it... that means HDTF is on the same “canon level” as Blue Shift and Opposing Force, because both of those games were created under identical circumstances to HDTF.

Not really as far as I know. The makers merely paid for the license and rights to use it. Hell, I don't even think they were allowed to use 'half life' in the title because it lacked that level of inclusion.
