Have you ever had that strange feeling when you're playing on a good RP server where you can experiment with clothing, but after a short time, you run out of interesting ideas for your own style because, in the end, everyone ends up wearing the same outfits?
Exactly, this is a problem that many players have encountered.

I want to share two ideas that could help solve this issue.

1- The first idea I want to suggest isn’t original, as practically everyone has already mentioned it, but it would be a good idea to expand the clothing categories with new types of outfits. Nothing new and nothing original. Even though several years have passed since the end of the Seven Hour War, you could still find pre-war shirts, hoodies, jackets, and many other styles of the same types of clothing, each with its own variations. However, this expansion could apply not only to civilians but also to the CMU or CWU. Pre-war work clothes could be used by CWU for performing tasks in low-risk areas, or CMU could use nurse or surgeon uniforms from the 80s and 90s to denote their status within the organization. Of course, there are already uniforms for these groups, but you could experiment with these pre-war outfits to make them look pre-war yet modernized by the Combine style.

2- The second idea that comes to mind is adding a clothing customization feature. Every outfit could be slightly modified. For example, ordinary shirts could be unbuttoned, sleeves could be rolled up, or, for instance, tied around the waist, and some hoodies could have their hoods up.

That’s all. I don’t feel like writing a long essay on this because it’s one of those typical topics that are all over the forums, but it’s always worth bringing up when new ideas come to mind.

For now, have a nice day.

Not sure if it would work, but special outifts for Lower Class and Supporters could get in the next update?

Adding new variants or types of clothing would definitely be useful because it would provide many new possibilities. Of course, this idea would only solve the problem for a short while, but if you also add the customization feature I mentioned, it would be an interesting change to have the same shirt as someone else but wear it differently. Additionally, it could be useful to introduce stricter clothing restrictions for each level of loyalty. A regular civilian could only wear a jumpsuit and glasses, while those at higher levels would have more privileges and options. But this is just small idea.

The last thing we need is more clothes 😭 there's already like 10 colours of every single piece of clothing, a lot of which people don't use, and a lot of types of clothing unused generally as well.

A great suggestion! I would absolutely love more clothes on our characters. Character customization is the best part of any game, be that singleplayer RPG or multiplayer dystopian roleplay communities running on a 20 year old engine. The key word(s) here is "20 year old engine".
There's two ways to go about this, as far as i am aware:

1. Completely disconnect models and clothing as separate models and attach them some other way via PAC3 or proprietary bone-merging code on Helix. This has worked in the past, but is not good for performance and is also open to some pretty gross stuff being displayed via preloaded PAC3 settings.

2. Just put more stuff on one model. This is the approach Willard is using, and it's been working out pretty good thus far. However, due to the whole 20 year old engine thing, there's a limit! 64 bodygroups if I'm not mistaken. And Willard's V2 models have hit that limit. They make up for it in the infinitely customizable color proxy that can be applied, which the devs have been making heavy use of.

I hear you man. I've actually made clothing related suggestions in the past, because I feel the exact same! Making my character look sharp and snazzy just hits the right way. All your ideas are great, and I'd even go FURTHER with the variety of outfits that should be available. But as things stand, this is impossible.

All clothing would need an overhaul at this point which is not currently within any dev's scope.
