Evening Everyone.

Alright, Soooo... I hoped on to quite a horrific suprise. But let me start from the beginning. I own the establishment of Victory-3 where a hidden-wall room is located and a couple of smaller Office rooms on the 3th floor. Almost two days ago i placed a medium container hidden under a large wooden shelf. Additonally under a lose floorboard. A SceneText was also placed stating the following:

[19/07/21 20:04:38] Linda Lundstrum has added static text: The container would be hidden below the floor boards, a loose plank may be used to access it.

Along with it being precision placed into the floor to really provide the look of a hidden container. But to my suprise when i logged in, the hidden container had been somehow found under barely 2 days of placing it there, and i can quite assure you there was no-one else who had any IC knowledgement of the container exesting there, except for myself. This seems like a blatant case of Metagaming and MissInformation. Not to mention the fact my store was infact raided offline which is a rule-break. And i can also quite assure you that none else was infact online.

We currently have 3 offical Employee's assigned to Victory-3.

Hamzah Kassem

Matthew Darnell

Boris

Anyone just associated with the Victory-3 isn't an full time employee of our business. Also known a Inoffical Employee's. And all three of us was infact offline. But at the end of the day. This is clearly just odd when you take a look at this situation generally speaking. Somehow a deep-clean of a business establishment without any major reports of illegal goods or hidden containers actively being report. Yet they somehow actively search in a specific place my container is located at. What's the reason of having a hidden wall room? What's the reason of having a stash if it's going to be found either way? Even though no one have IC acknowledge of it. if Cp's are going to blatantly metagame and /roll eveyrtime they see a hidden container then that's literally just fucked up.

They find an extremely hidden stash under a massive shelf, additonally under the floorboards. Yet they can't find a hidden wall room that can literally be open by accidently leaning on it. What kind of deep-search is that? This is clearly some sort of OOC targeting by the Civil Protection here.

Realistically speaking, every floorboard should have been checked but i bet none really did that. And i'm quite confident that cp's targeted specificly the office room and promoted /me searches the room more, compare to any other rooms or hallways.

Hi Trap, just spoke to the team about this. We've agreed to issue a partial refund, granting you all the materials back and the mixer but the guns stay lost as result of the RP.

Also small correction, the rule you specified isn't applicable for this situation, the correct ruleset applied to this situation are the heist rules as it involves a shop/business not just a container found in the wilderness

I can't find the exact location of this but I know for a fact that Shop owners reserve the right to give out the locations of hidden storage/room within their business location, and ONLY THEY know the location + whoever they tell, until a new owner comes into play. So both citizens and CP's are legitimately un-able to raid secret stashes unless they already know about said place or have clear evidence there's something there, I.e seeing an employee coming out of or looking in one of these places.

If a new owner comes into play, everyone except that new owner loses knowledge of these secret places of that business.

I don't know who raided you, whether it was CP's or not, but unless someone fucked up or ratted, they shouldn't have raided the hidden room stash

The container was not in a secret room, but (physically at least) 'hidden' inside of a closet - as in there were plenty of bits and pieces sticking out for anyone to OOC'ly see the thing from a mile away.

The container inside the secret room was left untouched as nobody opened that room. So that is all entirely besides the point.

What are you on about? Just because you OOC'ly see a container sticking out of a wall, doesn't mean i should have IC knowledge of it being there. IC speaking, it was under the shelf, along with it being under the floorboards. Unless you actually had some slight of IC of idea knowing there's something there. I'm quite sure it would not have been found. Not to mention hitting every floorboard around the store.

What's even the idea of having a stash at that point then?

Hello.

We found Hamzah Kassem to be online around the time of the heist along with some other "unofficial" employees. Technically this counts too. Even if they are not official. As long as they work/help the store in some way, they too count. We can clarify this in the rules if need be.

We understand that an admin helped you hide the container, but as long as the lock is visible, it can still be found. We are now adding a new rule because of this which allows players to find such with a high roll of 80+. We are sorry for the inconvenience, but this did occur to every store in the City, not just yours.

All your items will be refunded except the gun that was taken, your store and employees can return to normal as well.

In the end, the items were lost as a result of CPs rp'ing their way through the entire store, top to bottom. We decided that we will leave the secret room alone OOCly since secret rooms require prior IC knowledge to be opened. Which CPs did not have. Their only goal was to search all stores in their entirety and turn them upside down if need be, which they did. At least 9-11 Cps busted down the shop downs and scoured the place all with RP just like every store before yours.

It would be recommended to use secret rooms to hide said containers in the future to avoid them being found in a much better method since such can't be found without ic knowledge rather than just doing a /me and a /roll.

Hope that clears things up, but overall, the gun is lost and everything else refunded for now.

I implemented the stashes exactly to avoid the entire plot-armor hidden containers that really are not hidden at all. Because it always is convenient to be able to have a magic hole in your floor appear exactly where it is convenient for you with no or minimal amounts of RP, roughly the size of a large metal file cabinet. Also anyone who finds it is metagaming because they cannot find it as it is HIDDEN.

I do not understand why the guns has to be sacrificed either way? Just because the container is sticking out a bit, doesn't mean i should have IC knowledge of it and act like i'm seeing it. The container was hidden, no IC knowledge was known. And i bet cp's didn't start breaking random floorboard and walls aswell. Even if the room was turned upside down. It should have not been found, seeing how it had been in the floor.

Not to mention the guns... They were crafted, gained and achived by legit means. And are planned for further operations and expeditions by our group. Not only does it ruin further RP for our group but also the general interest of playing on the server. The amount of time and hours put into making those is well beyond extreme dedication. Especially the amount of RP that's going to be ruined because of it. Is this even being voided? We're getting refunded yet our guns taken by Civil protection? it doesn't make sense.

I really didn't think a cp would run in and /roll 80 as i though stashes were strictly for IC knowledge only. Seeing how stashes were handled during the beta. I remember having a small stash in my back office. My office was offically blown up, set on fire and searched 3 times by different cp's. Yet they had not found it.

At the end of the day, there isn't really much rules regarding how stashes should be handled or found. But if i actaully had some general OOC knowledge that stashes could be found by other means of IC actions then it sure as hell wasn't promoted during the Beta.

Perhaps we should all learn from this and provide stricter rules and regulations of how stashes should be handled and found. IC actions? Rolls? How the stash is hidden? At the end of the day. Nothing of this was clear from all factors provided.

In the end, it was deemed that the rule requirement was met. The situation wasn't voided and all stores got the same treatment.

In the future, it would be wise to do what other stores do and not place contraband in your shop, especially something like a gun. Because it will most likely be found when the CPs come knocking. Stashes and Secret rooms serve that purpose...

We also found out that you never RP'ed hiding the container with @Gr4Ss doing a log search and finding out that within a 700 unit distance of the container, the range of your average /me which is quite far found 0 /me's relating to hiding a container. Only finding a message of "Perhaps we should hide it under here." and that was it. No /me on record. Meaning the hidden container suddenly becomes null and void with it being on display.

In the future though, we will clarify some new rules on hidden containers... ones which are more acceptable. There are both acceptable and unacceptable ways of hiding containers, and this is a mix at best. It sits on the border of what's acceptable and what is not. We have told other container owners in the past that if they want to "hide" their container, they must do it normally. Such as hiding it behind trash, hiding under trash, using vents systems, inbuilt wall safes hidden behind paintings, etc.

But since it was hidden without RP from what we see in the logs, we will have to allow CPs to take this victory. It may upset you, but in the end, there are far better places to hide a container than in your own shop directly... you even had a second secret room to use but didn't. Every other store has managed to avoid this problem by playing smart... the gun in the container in your shop was not a smart idea. It is in fact a terrible idea.

So conclusion:

SITUATION PLAYED OUT - NOT VOIDED (Rule requirement met), GUN TAKEN, OWNER MARKED AS BOL FOR 94

However: Some materials were refunded due to confusion in the process from staff. New rules will be created to clarify on hidden containers and "Unofficial" employees.

This just doesn't feel right at all, seeing how stashes had been handled throughout the first launch along with the recent 2 week beta. I've had mutliple stashes gone through quite the same treatment just like this one, but alot worse. During the recent 2 week beta i had a small stash quite OOC'ly exposed to anyone walking into my office. My office was blown-up, set on fire and deep-searched 3 times by Civil Protection officers. I myself must agree that the stash should have been IC exposed by now, but it didn't because Admin intervention could only allow IC knowledge to actually know where the stash is and access it. Resulting in any IC actions in attempt to actually find the stash invalid.

This has been the foundation for me this entire time regarding stashes and probably for many more. Not only has miss-information been caused and hard-work thrown out the window. Potential future rp has also been ruined. All because guidelines and rules wasn't put in place for how stashes should actually work or function. And how to detect them. Seeing my previous experience pretty much made stashes unfindable, only through IC knowledgement only. You can't just allow Cp's to one day run into my store and /roll 80 to find my stash. And the next day can't find it even though they blew it up and deep-searched it 3 times. It simply doesn't make sense and i don't understand why we the players should take the consiquenses for that.

If actual rules and guidelines was put in place on how stashes should be found. by including factors sush as container size, enviroment, IC actions. Then of course i wouldn't place a medium container where i had temporary placed one. Yeah, i do have a secret room. And it was offically placed there from the beginning. But do due OOC inconventions it had to be placed temporary in the office until it was resolved. I'm pretty sure you can find the logs where i talk about that specificly when Linda and i was setting up the stash.

You can't use IC RP of hidding a stash as an excusse to finding it. I don't think i've ever RP'ed a single stash hidding it through IC means. Even as far back as when Willards first launched. because it requires OOC means of actually being placed there. No-one i know has /me hides stash when they get OOC help of placing it there. Not even the Admins ask for /me's when they got requested to place a stash down. And using it as an excuse for this situation is not resonable. And i bet you don't "/me opens it" everytime you open somehting.

Bodger himself who's a staff members seems to be confused about the general rules around stashes aswell. The same image has always been spread around on how to actually find stashes, and it has always been relied on either somone ratting or found out IC through information. And it has always been that way. You can't just out of-the-blue /roll 80 when you step into a room and find it. If that has always been the case then everyone would literally be running around lookin' for OOC'ly stashes and /roll everytime they saw one. just like the Cp's just did right now. But at the end of the day, it was under the floorboards covered by a giant shelf. And i bet none was breaking every single floorboard when they walked into the establishment.

Sure, you guys perhaps found something illegal in the actual public store container on the first floor. Or actually had intel on the stash, (Which i'm 100% sure you didn't) then i wouldn't be here arguing. But when it goes as far as /roll 80 when they see a OOC'ly stash, then that has to be the line. You said it youself Robert. "You were there to turn the place upside down". Not break open floors and tear down walls.

And how is this suppose to play out even? It isn't being voided, yet they only take the guns? And somehow we get refunded? I'm OOC'ly stuck in my own business and i can't get out due to combine lock. And the refund is also going to be thrown out the window as my containers are still in my business. This isn't clearly though out by any way whatsoever.

Perhaps i sound a little bit angry or upset. And i'm deeply sorry about that. This just felt like a massive slap in the face due to unclear rules and guidelines. And a it's clear missinformation from bothsides. As none really knows what is valid or not is valid. And i don't think players should be taking the beaten for it. At the end, cp's gain nothing, but the we lose everything.

Edit: Additional to this... it was borderline rule break. The three main employee's is Me, Hamzah and Boris. And Hamzah hoped on when the heist was eventually over. No one else was even online at that point. And these unoffical employee's can't really count as employee's. Due to them just swinging by to sell us food or water for some credits. Tim Mozart was no longer an employee to us due to untrust and Nick Bennet hasn't even worked behind the counter once since the start of the server. At most, my store was raided when 1 unoffical employee was active.

Again rules on this will be clarified and now we are heading in the direction of not allowing hidden stashes much anymore since that is the whole point of the stash system (The public lockers anyone can use). A place to hide your more illegal items and no one can ever find them.

To me I cannot mark this situation as void for a number of reasons:
  1. Every store was raided and every store that met the employee requirements had their containers searched specifically for contraband. Since that was the whole reason CPs were searching in the first place.
    1. Your store also met this limit, I see you say that some of the people online at the time weren't really employees but I will put a comment on that below on how you as the store owner could fix this...
  2. You must RP hiding stashes. If we allowed people to do things like hiding stashes without RP... oh boy would people get annoyed. For me, if someone calls me over and ask to hide their stash, I ask them to do the /me's and everything for it. Since it isn't just a process of slapping the container down. In the end, this is a RP server... if you don't rp hiding it and I come along to check logs if the container was hidden, I as an admin can now say "No, this container was never hidden."
    1. This just seems like common sense to me. But sure, if we do make rules against hidden containers, this will be mentioned on it. But for the most part, this is how I have been operating since the beginning. If an Admins doing differently... well a training session is coming up to tell them otherwise.
    2. In fact... when putting a container under the floor. I definitely expect RP... otherwise, to me it's just plain BS. Sounds harsh, but it's honestly a bit silly to not RP such an action an expect admins and player to simply accept it...
    3. Not to mention, there are other hidden stashes which I went to, and they all got RP and /me's surrounding them. So it seems so far only you are having this problem. No offence.
I noticed you said this isn't thought out. Well, actually it is... you could just ask for a TP outside of your business for one. The refund can still go through, there is nothing magically stopping it. This just seems like the most random point to make in the entire universe when you forget admins have magical powers to go through walls and ignore combine locks. And the situation resolution was thought in a way to make a balance between you and the Cps

IN the end, the CPs are also players who got told they can raid that container and so they did. If we want to make it fair by saying you were misinformed, so were they. Thus they should also be allowed to keep their RP they just did while raiding the store, rather than being told to simply void it since in the end, this complaint is technically, by all means, a player vs player complaint with the rules being put into question.

So in short, the way this plays out is pretty simple really:
  1. You join game
  2. Admins refund you most of your items and placed in a container
  3. You get tp'ed out of store
  4. Wait for store to open again
  5. ???
  6. profit
  7. Rebuild the lost weapon
  8. Find a better place to hide it.
Again, to us this is solved with both sides getting something. CPs gain a gun which they were given SC and a promotion for. As well as some other IC things which I won't meta. And you gain some of your stuff back. In the end, its a compromise for the misinfo.

I will begin writing a whole new set of rules top to bottom today on combat, containers, hidden containers, mugging and crimes, etc. I am now rewriting the rules from the ground up.

To me I cannot mark this situation as void for a number of reasons:
Who's going to make a final verdic on this? Because i need people from the outside to give their opinion on this aswell. If there's only You and Me who's talking, it will quite fast become a "concentrated" topic. At the end of the day, everyone is being effected by this and people should have a say in this. Stashes has always been a IC knowledege norm which has been promoted by Admins this enitre time. It's as if i'm fighting a goverment alone, i can't do anyhting because you have the powers to do whatever you want. But that doesn't mean that you're in the right Robert.

Every store was raided and every store that met the employee requirements had their containers searched specifically for contraband. Since that was the whole reason CPs were searching in the first place.
1. You searched my store, nothing illegal was in my public store containers. Nothing illegal was laying around or illegal workbenches. But it when i goes as far as Cp's walking in a room and /Rolls 80 and open my stash like a bag o chips- Then that's where the line has to be drawn... No explination whatsoever on what was actually being promoted during the beta was ever mentioned.. I've said this multiple times now, my previous stash in my office on Beta was literally blown up by a grenade, set on fire and deep-searched 3 times just like this one. You can't just overlook the fact and randomly change the rules like it's a playground and let Cp's /roll everytime they see a OOC'ly stash, when that wasn't the case 3 weeks ago.

I'm pretty sure that Hamzah kassem made a complaint about this, I myself also made a complaint, along with another one. And it don't think anyone of us really got a direct answer to the question regarding the 9/11 bombing of my stash. We clearly explained what happened, and the staff team was alright with everything that happen. No mention of a stash being OOC'ly exposed, or we didn't contributed with enough RP and /me's. Or if it simply wasn't alright with us having a stash there. You can't just be alright with it for one day, and then mix it up and say it's not alright the other day. You need to see the big picture here and just not foucs on cp's raiding.

Your store also met this limit, I see you say that some of the people online at the time weren't really employees but I will put a comment on that below on how you as the store owner could fix this...
2. We both know the fact that the raid was boderline rule-break. I would have been completely fine if perhaps i myself was online, or another offical employee sush as Boris or Hamzah. Then i would completely be fine with this specific topic. But raiding it when none offical member is online and the only people valid enough is unoffical employee's, then there has be some sort of understanding to that: "perhaps we should chill with the raid." These unoffical employee's doesn't even work the counter or have access to the door/containers. They swing by to drop off some food which we have to paid for either way.

3. Everyone has been hidding stashes OOC'ly ever since the beginning of Willards. I've always had a stash in my office, and everytime i call an Admin or some sort of CA. I've never been told that i "must" contribute with /me's for me to allow it being there. They OOC'ly place it there, they put some sort of scenetext or text over it. And they're completely fine with that. Resulting it in being valid. You can't just come a few days later and tell me the stash isn't valid when it gets raided. And you have this image of yours where the stash is valid for the Civil Protection but no valid for me? If it hasn't been valid from the very beginning then it should have been OOC'ly/IC still in the hidden room where it always had been. Or why didn't Linda tell me? There's no sort of logic or resonable understanding what's going on here. You pick something that suits youself but you're missing the bigger picture here.

This just seems like common sense to me. But sure, if we do make rules against hidden containers, this will be mentioned on it. But for the most part, this is how I have been operating since the beginning. If an Admins doing differently... well a training session is coming up to tell them otherwise.

4. Yeah, this is completely understandable from your point of you. But at the end of the day, me who is prioritising or "maining" Citizen characters knows what everyone else is exposed to when it comes to perhaps Admin interactions. From your own CP veiw it might sound alright this enitre situation. But from us the Citizen's view it's absolutely bongos. Perhaps that's just your way of operating, but that doesn't mean everyone else has been operating the same way just like you. That's what i've been trying to say.

In fact... when putting a container under the floor. I definitely expect RP... otherwise, to me it's just plain BS. Sounds harsh, but it's honestly a bit silly to not RP such an action an expect admins and player to simply accept it...
Once again your view of this... Me who has been with nemours different admins and placings of stashes knows that not a single Admin requires some sort of /me for them to place down the stash OOC'ly. And what am i suppose to do? "Dig with my hands?". I can bring forward multiple people who can support+ me on this topic. And perhaps it sounds a bit silly for you, but this is what we've been living with. And you youself Robert knows that i contribute with RP when it's needed. I wouldn't create a group throughout the months when server was being developed. Only to be lazy on some /me's that has never been required by admins. And ruin all my progress within a snap of a finger.

Not to mention, there are other hidden stashes which I went to, and they all got RP and /me's surrounding them. So it seems so far only you are having this problem. No offence.

I bet. I never saw the public stashes that everyone is using being put there by CWU trucks passing by and installing it. I might be playing a bit plain dumb right now but that's literally the case here.

No, this isn't though out well at all. Let me explain.

You raided my business and took my gun. My stash is still in the hidden room along with one in the office. And i'm OOC'ly stuck in my own business with combine looks. Not only do i have a 93 BOL target on my back which is going to get me killed either. BOL is literally just a dragged out process of a PK either way. If you place me on the streets, i'll be apprehanded by the Civil Protection less than 20 min. If you place me down in the sewers i'll die of Xen Spores within 10 min because the screen goes all blurry and i can't go to the surface. And additonal to that, the spores are suppose to promote cityRP and since i'll be permanently stuck there it will resulting is an absolute boring outcome and eventually death and loss of interest. Not to mention the fact i can't defend myself due to the gun being taken.

And a bonus to this aswell, i can't go into the city and fetch my refund, because i'll probably be caught and executed due to the BOL. And if i manage to get into the establishment i'll be charged with breaking in due to me not owning the business anymore. And i can't exatcly drag it out of there without being noticed.

You say that we only lose a gun and the Civil protection gains some SC and a promotion. But in reality, our entire group that was suppose to promote CityRP literally got thrown out the window and ruined. My employee's lose their permits and work. Associates and hangarounds lose pontial future RP. I lose my entire business establishment and i get thrown out with a BOL charge on my back which is literally a PK but dragged out. The refund doesn't matter because i'll be dead either way and i have no secondary base location to set up. You know how much we contributed during the beta with RP as we got regonized in the annoucmnets and a lore video being written by Rad-X.

We lose everythingbecause of a stash that shouldn't have been found.

I can agree with one solution to this.

The Civil protection can do whatever they want with the gun. Give them SC or promotions as that is seen as fair. And remove 10-20 SC on my account.

And i lose the gun as i've put more than 48h of hard work and dedication into that. That's a fair trade which i can accept.

But due to all the miss-information and unwritten rules and the general outcome. Not to mention the factors i've provided along with me getting a refund. But putting a BOL on me, lossing my business, and throwing out potential group that promotes CityRP then that has to be the line.

You cannot drag Civil Protection over the same faction as Citizens. Citizens work 3x as hard to get somewhere when it comess to items and SC. Not to mention building something unique with their characters. But doing that require time and stability. All that can be thrown out the window due to one bullet in the back of the head because of a CP, or a situation just like this one. All that a Civil Protection Officer could get is a demotion or losing some SC, at most a PK.

As i explained earlier. We lose everything in short.

Atm... the people who have commented thus far have done so above. Atle for example commented and gave you the rundown of what will happen.

Now we are just going back and forth on a closed case.

Anyway.

Are you basically asking that
  1. CPs take the gun (as stated already)
  2. You lose 10-20 SC and have your BOL tag removed?
Just checking...

Take the gun, take the knife, or anything else classified as a weapon. Do whatever you wish and promote your units with SC or promotions. Or anything that you seem fitting. Drag those 20 SC off my account aswell if you think that's worth it. But due to everything i mentioned above. Refunding me is not really going to cut the compensation for the unwritten rules and miss-information by all factors provided.

Let me keep the business, remove the BOL, and let me keep* whatever scraps was left in that stash as i assume the gun was only taken?

We've both provided each others points and i can admitt that both of us have resonable opinions. But it feels like they're being cancelled out by each other.

Is this accaptable Robert?

Yep. If both parties agree then should be fine.

So that is acceptable.

**Spits into his hand before offering an honorable handshake to Robert**

I'll be hoping on right away.
