It's probably been stated multiple times before to the point it's a repetitive topic, but I'd like to know your thoughts on Source 2 and the continuation of Half-Life 2 Roleplay as a game mode. I hate to admit it but the genre and communities surrounding HL2RP are slowly dying and fading from existence. However, with Source 2 tools being released and with Sbox early access being given out like candy, I wonder if there will be any communities interested in trying to recreate Half-Life 2 Roleplay as a game mode. The Engine limitations have been increased 10 fold in Source 2 allowing a lot more dev work to be easily done.
Would Willard ever be interested in moving to Source 2 in the future? Or will it be left to others? Most of you have the workflow and assets. However, the coding language is now C# if I'm not mistaken so Lua is no longer used. I was working on an alien infestation game mode for a few months with a small dev team and the easy access Sbox tools offer are nothing like I've seen before. Not to mention the introduction to Hammer 2. Mapmaking would be a lot smoother and easy to master for beginners.
I think what I would most be excited about is the engine limitations of Source 1 being gone to allow even more creativity with this dev team. But I also understand no one may have time for such a task, or prefer to stay in Garry's Mod.
