I was inspired by @YungJenkins to make this, though I had planned not to originally.

This isn’t really all, like Jenkins I don’t really know how long I’ll be gone, just that it’s for a while. I wanted change and was told it was coming, yet it never did. The issues I have are seen as foolish to the staff and are never really taken seriously. I’ve known what being lead-on feels like, and this is what staff tend to do when certain problems or issues arise.

There’s a good bit of staff I like, begrudgingly or not, but the majority tends to not want to admit the cut throat nature of it all. Internally between teams, inside each team amongst themselves, and to the players, there’s an unforgiving nature to it all except a certain few who will always be welcomed back.

For now, I’ll lurk on the Discord and occasionally check here, but server wise I’m done.

@YungJenkins
The inspiration for this post, you and I mirror each other in some ways. We’ve both fucked up, we’ve both known we’ve fucked up, and we know when others fuck up. It feels like you and I are the only people I’ve seen actually come out and say “Yeah, I was wrong for doing it like that, my bad. I’m sorry”. I know how hard it is to swallow your pride and admit that you’ve fucked up, and I respect that you could do that while still keeping that goofy side of yourself.

We actually have really similar experiences here…

@reece
My main man, and voice of reason, you’d always understand my troubles and would talk me down where I needed it, but also understood that a lot of what I said was right- just delivered rather crudely. Genuinely one of the people from here I’m gonna remember for a while, as you’re just objectively a cool and chill dude.

@Rabithunter
The only admin who’d actually try to understand what the issue was instead of blowing it off. I appreciate all the effort you put into everything, in and out of the server, but I fear that being staff has made you lose some touch with the actual playerbase… still, you’re a good man, in game and out. I know, I’ve seen your house!

@M!NT
I still don’t know what you really think of me, but I just know you’re smart and I respect what you say. The occasional double standard when it comes to telling people to apologize, but that comes with being staff. My respect comes from several things, your dev work, your staff work, your server work (trash man), and of course as my fellow Southerner. You’d understand that just because I was being crude doesn’t mean I was trying to be rude. I appreciate you talking to me all those times, and every time we DMed it put a smile on my face. I’m sorry about the 9/11 joke.

@Neonity
You’re fine, and I’d be fine with most of what you do if it wasn’t for the fact that players get castrated for the majority of instigations you mainly just got told off for. Admittedly every staff I’ve raised this towards vouched for you saying you’ve weened off. I’m not sure how you are as HoS, but I appreciate that when I said quite frankly I don’t think you should be there, you just accepted it as my opinion instead of blowing it out of proportion. I know I may not seem like it, but I was surprised in a good way, and deeply appreciative of the fact you accepted the opinion without trying to call it toxic.

@Donavin Jones
Somebody give this man creative team! And let him be a goddamn Shock Trooper!
Gonna miss ya, bud.

@Hayden
Quite frankly, you and I just don’t agree with certain things. Especially in our last discussion, it’s clear that there’s just a fundamental difference on how we each believe things should be viewed, and that’s okay. You’re still a great person, despite the differences, and overall I really hope there aren’t too many negative feelings in the way of a mutual respect. You took the time to actually listen, and even at some points understood where my anger came from, though admittedly the amount of anger in each case was too much. I’m sorry for wording my criticisms the way that I did- I stated before in this post that I’m crude, and the comment you banned me for kind of shows that. It’s no excuse, but I didn’t mean any kind of toxicity with it.

@Craw
I like your Events and GMing. I got some flack for being negative in the last review for Day 2 of the Fallout event, but I want you to know I overall enjoyed it and the effort that went into it. You know I always love to be in the middle of an unraveling conspiracy, I just disliked some of the specific staffing choices at the end when it came to how the decisions were handled. Still, I know you’re an amazing Event Runner, and I know you’ll continue to run amazing events.

@Nesh
Chill dude, but joined in on the dogpile at the end, which kinda hurt. I would’ve hoped you would do better than that, especially after what happened with yourself. You’re still chill, and I enjoyed your company, but that last interaction was just… disappointing.

@Kamilisha Haijulikani
Simultaneously one of my worst enemies and greatest ally. And of course, former gay lover of Samuel Haze. He’s always one for a little bit of trolling, but he’s also one to usually understand most points of an argument. No matter what side he’s on, he tends to see them both. That’s commendable in all the best ways.

Another goober, like Grass Man.

@Sachimii
I’m only adding you here because Jenkins did. I still don’t feel like you’ve changed. You apologized for your actions to the staff, but not to the people you did them towards. Elder Drip, I get it, but personally as one of the people you lashed out at (in several ways, imo, but to be fair it’s speculation) I don’t feel like whatever apology you made to staff was genuine. I wouldn’t be the type to even care about you telling me to kill myself, or going out of your way to ping me and call me self righteous and to go fuck myself, if there wasn’t a clear bias towards your case than towards others. Your response to Jenkins when he said you were kind of a dickhead exhibits the fact you haven’t really changed, to me. I hope I’m wrong, but I sadly don’t believe I am.

Well, like the title says;

A follow up for someone that deserves it.

@Robert
I’m sorry I went off like that with the OSF situation. I know it’s been a month or so now, but I’m really sorry. In the haze of miscommunication- I lashed out at the first target I assumed guilt upon. They say assuming makes an ass of u and me, but here it really was just me. Even if I was right in my assumption, that’s not how I should have approached you. A big reason I did it the way I did was because I thought better of you, and was hoping you were better than that. A hope I never should have lost. You’re a good leader, a fun dude, and really nice, and I should never have treated someone with any of those qualities like that. I’m sorry, Robert. There is no shame in sharing a name with you.

in my goodbye thread i didn’t want to mention the vices of willard staff teams as i wanted my goodbye to be viewed in a positive and friendly vibe rather than just “im going out and im taking you all with me”. but i do fundamentally agree that there are a lot of people on willard that have serious problems and haven’t been dealt with accordingly, which you have mentioned in this thread and a bajillion others. i deleted the cope thread i made a few months ago after getting removed from creative team cause it was mostly just bashing staff for doing their job. but some of my points still stand to this day like certain biases that are pretty evident in the staff team, along with Creative Team having their own issues with taking criticism and applying it to their events, etc.

i’ve witnessed a lot of stuff throughout my time in the server that made me want to quit several months before my post. besides the fact that the server is just plain boring even during main server event arcs, there are certain things OOCly that genuinely make me a bit peeved. for example, Sachimii getting banned everywhere and all of a sudden getting staff and CT two months later.

overall i commend you for making this and taking a break along with me and others who have taken the courage to do so as well. if the server starts getting interesting, then maybe i’ll come back. but right now there’s no sugar coating when i say the RP is semi-garbage and i personally dislike the way the story is going.

most likely ten times out of ten nothing is going to change and it’ll all be the same as it was before, we’ll end up coming back disappointed and repeating the cycle all over again. the staff team only sees a few people criticizing their teams instead of the entire server doing so, meaning they’re not gonna care nor try to implement anything new to the table. that’s why any time someone makes a thread like this you instantly see staff members replying with “cope” or something to that effect. it’s just a shame cause willard is genuinely a very unique and amazing gmod server that has its potential wasted by its staff team.

No hard feelings on my end, I hope that's mutual. I'm not sure if I mentioned this when we discussed the ban, but I always felt like some of your complaints were valid, even if they were sometimes too strongly worded. Being aggressive when a mistake is spotted is something that I also do - more recently than ever, and I'm trying to work on it.

I wish you luck in anything you do moving forward and commend you for deciding that you've had enough of Willard (or at least kinda had enough, hopefully you'll kick the forum & discord addiction soon :angrycop: )

If you decide to return at some point, you're always free to write a ban appeal and it'll be taken seriously - it won't be immediately denied. I believe in change and don't think you're a naturally bad person, just occasionally too strident, which is a trait I share.

I guess I wanted to at least say what’s been brewing in the evil chasm that is my mind this past month or so. I made sure to have some positivity, but I just think some of these things needed to be said. And the sad part is, I don’t think this thread’s points will be looked at by the majority of staff- especially the ones that need to see it. They’ll just see a reason to rejoice because I’m dipping. I may just be pessimistic, but I haven’t been given many reasons not to be when it comes to Willard.

I’m beginning to blame the players as much as the staff- as they seem to grow complacent with the BS that is Willard’s Bureaucracy, and when people speak out against it they’re quick to dogpile when they see admins starting to shut them down.

I feel like I’ve said most of what I’ve needed to say this point, but I really do want change. I want the story to thrive. But, that’s not what’s happening. Everything halts for the Admin characters or GMs, and it really feels like there’s little to no player agency. The Combine see you as an expendable asset, and it feels like because of that, that’s how staff view players and characters. The people who would get frustrated at a player slightly derailing a planned story are the same ones who are confused why players even care so much about their characters they’ve spent literal IRL hours developing.

There needs to be real change, not just the promise that it’s coming.
