Character's role during life: Former Gulf War Veteran, Homeless Man, and then CROSSED at the end.
How did your character die: After turning into one of The Crossed, Hobo Joe went around LA torturing dozens of people with his machete, tying peoples intestines to the back of cars and dragging them around, and shooting civilians. Hobo Joe met his end at the hands of a police patrol rolling up on Hobo Joe stabbing someone, a hundreds of bullets flying into his flesh as he begged for more pain. Hobo Joe never got the pain he so desired, his life ending quick at the other end of a rifle barrel.

Short (or detailed) character backstory: One of the many homeless Veterans in LA, Joseph Gallway (Otherwise known as Hobo Joe) along the local populace was a well known begger among the streets in Skid Row 'tent city'. Hobo Joe was often known for his humorous signs to get people to give him money, including his 2004 famous "My father was killed my ninjas, need money for karate lessons!" that made him a local star for a few short weeks. Sadly, soliciting never got him out of Skid Row. In 2006, the CROSSED virus hit, and Hobo Joe was one of the first to be infected in the LA tent metropolis.

I was a husband, I had a wife and three kids... Before the resonance cascade, we lived inside a small town right below Paris where we lived decent, yet harsh, yet comfortable lives. On the day of the arrival of the Combine, I lost my kids as they were taken away from me, from us. I wonder where everyone is currently, perhaps they have died or perhaps they still live whether it be outside of the cities or inside of the cities, I care not for I only hope that they live long enough to see whether the world will change for the better or not.

To think that I joined the M.A.A expecting to be greatly reward, no... To be able to get on top of the hierarchy of the Combine, to be able to command everyone and no-one, to be given the power to change how cities work, their policies and maybe even see my family once more. It was just a wild dream, If only.

At least I meet many people there, Vexilium Zhang, Nominal Keller, Nominal Coleman, Nominal Odinstov, Nominal Wreath, Constituent Flores, Constituent Intrepido, Constituent Danescu, Constituent Beauregard, Constituent Vladivostok and Sadistic Campbell... Many have died in this battle and many of those who lived have now perished.

On that day, when we were thrown at the ennemy in City-02. There was no winning chances for us, Overwatch forces had nearly been entirely wiped out leaving the administrative board in a crazed state over the ruins of the City while Civil Protections had been completely wiped out, the lack of ammunition, the lack of medical supplies and our starting supplies already looted by resistance forces, the time we took to train and to handle firearms have been for absolutely nothing. We died accomplishing absolutely nothing valuable or meaningfull but the irony is...

We all knew it was a suicide mission.

Short (or detailed) character backstory: Grant Pressman was a rather typical man upon entry into City 24. He was the unlucky punching bag of the Civil Protection and certain others for weeks until he got a position in the Civil Worker's Union, allowing him to display his talent for efficient workshifts, constant motivation, and doing his best to push on despite the difficulties presented to him. Even when he tried his best to help as many as he could, not as many could have done the same for him, his mental state remaining fragile, breaking in the matter of hours when pushed the wrong way one too many times.

Short (or detailed) character backstory: Michael Hoxworth was a man who lost two limbs during his time in the CWU. He lost his right leg and left arm, both of which were replaced by experimental prosthetics. His mental state slowly started to degrade, which caused him to kill a slummer near a high ranking officer. The incident caused him to loose his position, and get demoted to, as he called himself, "Manager of Janitors". Wanting to prove himself, he signed up for the drilling expedition in Alaska, which went haywire. His camp went first, which caused his untimely death.

Born in Texas and grown in a farm pre-war, then a resistance cutthroat working under the order of "Juno". Even in the bleakest of times, He had a special someone he has cared deeply about. The love of his life. And in his final moments, betrayed and killed alongside him. Death was all he asked for. Even in death he has his dirty suit and his gun with a signle bullet loaded, never leaving the side of his head. Finger always on the eject button. ( I know the gun is overkill and maybe against the rules of the event, but I plan it to be more of a downside, hence it wont leave Hank's head. )

His mental health dissipated and reduced which only pathed a way to a uncaring mentality. He failed to keep a CWU job for a entire week and got sent down to the depth of the Metro with everyone else, meeting a untimely death to the Civil Protection cops.

  While hunting for sustenance deep in the sewers of city 24, an explosion above ground could be heard, echoing throughout the underground. Distracted for but a moment, a large piece of the ceiling had fallen down and crushed his left foot and it was stuck in place. In a panic, Grunk desperately tried to escape his confinement for several hours, tiring itself out in the process.
  
  After what would have seemed like a lifetime to Grunk, a creature appeared. A grey vortigaunt. Grunks primal instincts kicked in, but was too tired to try and defend itself in the event that the vortigaunt was here to hunt it. Alas, the grey vortigaunt approached, emanating a green glow from his palms. The stranger would throw it meat, of which Grunk graciously accepted, devouring each piece thrown whole. After some time, the vortigaunt would remove the rubble confining Grunks foot, whereafter it was healed, the bullsquid not questioning the skills of its savior. The vortigaunt talked, introduced himself, and named the saved bullsquid Grunk.

Col. Alekzander Ivanovitch


In the heart of St. Petersburg, Colonel Alekzander Ivanovitch emerged as a beacon of courage and leadership within the Reclamation Front. Born during the harrowing days of the Seven Hour War, he witnessed the city's fall to the Combine forces, igniting a fire within him to fight for freedom.
As the uprising raged on, Alekzander proved himself time and again in battles against both the Combine and the oppressive security forces. With his weathered appearance and indomitable spirit, he commanded the respect of his fellow fighters, rising through the ranks with each victorious skirmish.
When the previous colonel fell in battle, Alekzander's unwavering determination propelled him to the forefront, assuming the role of commanding officer. Under his guidance, the Reclamation Front found renewed purpose and unity, their cause fueled by his fearless leadership.
Alekzander's dedication extended beyond the battlefield. He risked everything to help refugees find sanctuary within the KROT facility, shielding them from the iron grip of oppression. In doing so, he kept the flame of the Reclamation Front's ideology alive, even as their numbers dwindled.
But fate is often cruel, and it caught up with Alekzander within the very facility he had protected. How did your character die: Shotcopped while responding to rebel attack on auxiliary CP units in Indigent.
Short (or detailed) character backstory: Originally a Russian native of Lugansk, Fyodor joined City 24's Civil Protection in the old District 43 before it's major renovations (//he was active when we were on city 24 v4), and had chosen the tagline UNION-2 for himself, citing his previous experience in a conscript militia during the portal storms as a listed reason for his enlistment into Civil Protection. Over time, the man would join IAT and become a blueband, becoming one of the most active and enthusiastic investigators of the spec in his time. His actions in investigating the activities of local rebel cells, similar criminal activities, and even investigations into corruption among his own cohorts would eventually allow him to reach the rank of Intention Two and thus giving him command over many units of lower rank, albeit ones he still made an effort to maintain friendly relationships with. He always made an effort to ensure that any people he was investigating, who had committed serious crimes, would be allowed to live, and earn a trip to OCR, due to his own desires to minimize the amount of deaths that the seemingly eternal war between the Combine and the rebels continue to cause.
Character's biggest dream: The safety and happiness of his closest friends, colleagues and family, and to one day see humanity united and roaming the stars, naively choosing to believe some of the Combine propaganda spouted to them, perhaps believing his own lies.

How did your character die: Fought against the OTA letting his friends and allies run away as he took down a wallhammer and got executed straight after.

Short (or detailed) character backstory: He was born as nothing and ended up as nothing in the world. Living off scraps in the slums, he berserked through the metros killing antlions, xen creatures and the many bandits that was scattered all over the sewer like terrain while following a group of Vortigaunts with the presence of the Tyrant aiding him in quests and supplies. He was usually covered in Xen shit and blood roaming around with a clear rotten smell of the many he had cut and shot down for his objectives to be complete.
Back in the cities he would go around helping the LFL kill cops and blow up thumpers while assaulting the nexus ,freeing the many trapped , encaged vortigaunts. Those were the golden times of his days in city 24 before the metro expedition incident.
He was left behind the times he really needed...... his rage during the last moments was unbearable left to fight the waves of OTA arriving after his takedown of the wallhammer. It wasnt looking very bright for him.

Character's biggest dream: He had nothing that could be called his big dream. The only final thought he had running through his head were the great times he had with the LFL and seeking to becoming a fully fledged member of the Krah'aur'nur

Jax, a new arrival of City 24 acquainted himself with the rebels and more of his kin. Eventually he was freed with his long passed vortal brother Xov'Ariss Ka'Hull. Shortly after Jax followed the path of the emissary, conversing with Grendel and partaking on the journey of purification. Jax was a model follower of the Emissary's views and beliefs, all he ever wanted was to end the war by any means and prosper with his vortal brothers. Shortly after told by the Vortigaunt Grendel, by decree of the Emissary himself. Jax was granted the title of "High Elder" a first for the city. Shortly after Jax met his demise trying to save kin, for better or for worse...

How did your character die:
shot dead by civil protection

Short (or detailed) character backstory:

Gustavo Baldo was born April 15th 1981 in Campania, just off the gulf of Naples in Italy in a gypsy campground. His early life was often spent being chased by the local authorities, Until at the age of 16 where his good friend Tonio “Tony” Rivera would introduce him into the Nuccio crime family. Tony introduced Gus to many people who taught him what he knows today, including: Muziano 'Roulette' Nuccio, Lucio Moscone and Filippo Addemaro. The five of them ran their own small part of town. With Muziano as their capo they got into more professional standards of crime, such as extortion and money laundering using a restaurant as their front for business.
The five were often tasked with taking out business rivals to the Nuccio family, often being a dangerous task bringing lots of attention. After the unfortunate death of Lucio Moscone in one of these tasks, the attention of a few law enforcement officers peaked, Including the attention of an officer named Angelo Ricci.

Drugs were a large problem with these competitors, as the Nuccio Family was strictly against drugs it often led to wannabe’s becoming drug dealers on family turf, which was not taken lightly. Gustavo took pride in removing filth from the city streets and often used the money he generated to bring the homeless from the streets and refurbish public areas.
Gustavo and the crew eventually had some heat on them and were investigated and found guilty of tax fraud, leading to fines and imprisonment for a few months. Gus didn’t care much as the respect he had generated saw he had an easy sentence and still had a say in family matters from behind bars.

Soon after the crew was released, the combine invaded. The Nuccio family and the police force put their differences aside and helped fend off important structures and evacuate civilians, though they would eventually fall just like everyone else.

Gus would make his home in Rome, now named city 32, and would live there for many years. During those years he would recount his life experiences and eventually devote himself to the Lord, becoming a Christian. While he believed what he did was wrong, he used religion and the greater good to justify his actions as if not him, it would have just been someone else. Gustavo would soon be relocated to city 24, where he would hope to begin a new life with a new start.

-Present Day-
Gustavo would arrive into city 24 with nothing except his knowledge and ambitions. He would quickly find contacts, old and new, and meticulously plan his new life. In the early days he would meet a few dwellers of the Indigent zone, quickly becoming accustomed to their way of life. Making chips was easy, finding things to spend them on was the hard part. Everyone wants something, knows something, or fears something, all of which can be profitable if you play your cards right. Life here was hard, but it was home.

Gus would manage to swindle his way into ownership of "Little Italy" Indigent one. He would use this as his staging ground. He'd recruit from the area around him, meeting new faces and old to form his own family, his family. He'd die for his people, and he'd hope they'd do the same. After a short time Gus learned the operations of the area, creating an area for his family to store their goods and use for refuge. After some short time, he'd be tortured by civil protection forces after his suspected involvement in many of crimes, and lost ownership of the store. This would make Gus quite paranoid, but he'd also come to an understanding. The man was already dead.
Gustavo Baldo was diagnosed with lung cancer soon after the torture, humoring him, as the man knew he was to die. It was a terminal disease, but he decided
to take that personally. Gus decided that he would leave behind a legacy, one he could be proud of, and others could look up to. Gustavo took upon the name "The Gypsy" and became known throughout the vortessence, bringing two vortigaunts to freedom but losing friends along the way.

Gustavo planned to retire there, but heard of a city that needed help, City 17. He initially refused to visit, but eventually booked a flight, making use of an old friend from London. He arrived in the city, and was happy to be among friends, family and more. Gustavo decided to take a few people out on a lead, but was found by civil protection. He died in a firefight soon after, going down like a true man.

Another quest he took, taking on OTA getting his Signature OTISR that became a staple for him, now a well known mad man who had the balls to fight a Antlion Guardian on his own.. Later in City-24, he joined the Tyrants arena winning on his own against a man over half his size, gaining his near super human like strength as a reward.

King would later make a Heroic Final Stand against Civil Protection in a Vent. Killing Judge-0 A Rank Leader, and many being injured and punished for letting a RL die to a single man.. His name would be echoed by many, as.

How did your character die: After turning into one of The Crossed, Hobo Joe went around LA torturing dozens of people with his machete, tying peoples intestines to the back of cars and dragging them around, and shooting civilians. Hobo Joe met his end at the hands of a police patrol rolling up on Hobo Joe stabbing someone, a hundreds of bullets flying into his flesh as he begged for more pain. Hobo Joe never got the pain he so desired, his life ending quick at the other end of a rifle barrel.

Short (or detailed) character backstory: One of the many homeless Veterans in LA, Joseph Gallway (Otherwise known as Hobo Joe) along the local populace was a well known begger among the streets in Skid Row 'tent city'. Hobo Joe was often known for his humorous signs to get people to give him money, including his 2004 famous "My father was killed my ninjas, need money for karate lessons!" that made him a local star for a few short weeks. Sadly, soliciting never got him out of Skid Row. In 2006, the CROSSED virus hit, and Hobo Joe was one of the first to be infected in the LA tent metropolis.

I was a husband, I had a wife and three kids... Before the resonance cascade, we lived inside a small town right below Paris where we lived decent, yet harsh, yet comfortable lives. On the day of the arrival of the Combine, I lost my kids as they were taken away from me, from us. I wonder where everyone is currently, perhaps they have died or perhaps they still live whether it be outside of the cities or inside of the cities, I care not for I only hope that they live long enough to see whether the world will change for the better or not.

To think that I joined the M.A.A expecting to be greatly reward, no... To be able to get on top of the hierarchy of the Combine, to be able to command everyone and no-one, to be given the power to change how cities work, their policies and maybe even see my family once more. It was just a wild dream, If only.

At least I meet many people there, Vexilium Zhang, Nominal Keller, Nominal Coleman, Nominal Odinstov, Nominal Wreath, Constituent Flores, Constituent Intrepido, Constituent Danescu, Constituent Beauregard, Constituent Vladivostok and Sadistic Campbell... Many have died in this battle and many of those who lived have now perished.

On that day, when we were thrown at the ennemy in City-02. There was no winning chances for us, Overwatch forces had nearly been entirely wiped out leaving the administrative board in a crazed state over the ruins of the City while Civil Protections had been completely wiped out, the lack of ammunition, the lack of medical supplies and our starting supplies already looted by resistance forces, the time we took to train and to handle firearms have been for absolutely nothing. We died accomplishing absolutely nothing valuable or meaningfull but the irony is...

We all knew it was a suicide mission.

He lost his right leg and left arm, both of which were replaced by experimental prosthetics. His mental state slowly started to degrade, which caused him to kill a slummer near a high ranking officer. The incident caused him to loose his position, and get demoted to, as he called himself, "Manager of Janitors". Wanting to prove himself, he signed up for the drilling expedition in Alaska, which went haywire. His camp went first, which caused his untimely death.

The love of his life. And in his final moments, betrayed and killed alongside him. Death was all he asked for. Even in death he has his dirty suit and his gun with a signle bullet loaded, never leaving the side of his head. Finger always on the eject button. ( I know the gun is overkill and maybe against the rules of the event, but I plan it to be more of a downside, hence it wont leave Hank's head. )

Qin Shi Huang, formerly known as Zhao Zeng was the creator of the first Chinese Empire. Through his efforts the entirety of China was united. He was the son of a Prince, heir to the Kingdom of Qin. A childhood full of luxury. Enjoying items given to him by Divine right.

Upon the death of the reigning king. He gained control of the throne at the age of Thirteen. Too young to lead as dictated by the laws of his then Kingdom.

The prime minister of the kingdom, Lü Buwei was granted regency by the passed Monarch.
The country was at war with six other states, vying for supremacy and complete conquest over the entire lands of China.

Upon his coming of Age, Qin Shi Huang slowly conquered his way to Emperor, one warlord state after another. One by One. Eventually he achieved his goal, only to be left thirsting for more.

How did your character die: Shot to death by World Corps Guards

Character backstory: Johnston Fairbanks, a middle aged man at the time of his death, was a Nurse at the South-Side Medical Faculty in New York. When he was young, he was involved in a car related accident, resulting in his arm being broken and replaced by a metallic prosthetic. His life was saved by the very same people that he would work with later on in his life. One day he found an odd email on a computer within the hospital, after reading it, he would grow more and more paranoid as the days went on. After a certain amount of time passed, he bought a gun and a car, heading to the World Corps HQ and killing the person he deemed to be responsible for his paranoia. This resulted in his death as well.

Short (or detailed) character backstory:
Grimdell was born in the U.S. in Montana. Grimdell loved to camp out with his father and mother. He would make trips to his uncle's house, his uncle owned a cabin in the woods. Years later, Grimdell was on vacation with his father in Europe, then the Combine invaded.

His father died during that period of his life. Grimdell eventually ended up in City 8, where he stayed for a few years always avoiding relocation.
He left City 8 with resistance members trying to make a difference, He ended up in Industrial 17, where he worked with black market dealers, and started doing security jobs. Soon after he got picked to help out a dealer outside the city, but weeks before the job Grimdell and a group of resistant members were caught in a sewer sweep a firefight started soon after. The fight ended with him and some others captured, and sent to Nove Prospect where he later perished.

Character name: Minister Avilov

Character's role during life: A low level City Administration Minister in City 72, Moscow, in a different Half Life 2 Universe Timeline.

How did your character die: Shot in the back of the head by an Overwatch Elite upon the decision of the Earth Administrator Dr. Wallace Breen to not take the rest of Earths City Administrators to the Combine Overworld.

Short (or detailed) character backstory:

'Minister Avilov' as he was known to the many had a very cloudy past to the public, but his origins are far from normal.

The now Minister grew up in Kazan, Soviet Russia in the early 70’s. A low life thug at first in the criminal underground with his lover Ana, he soon grew to run his own newspaper company in the growing city of Kazan. Avilov spent years of his life in the journalist business, until the fall of the Soviet Union in December of 1991.

With the fall of the Union, Avilov and his partner lost profits in the newspaper business due to lack of supplies from the Soviet partner states. The shattered business was one of the things that broke his relationship with Ana, along with his crippling alcohol addiction.

The Combine came years later, the gruff man looking to become part of the New Union. He did that by sliding his way up the political sphere, joining the ranks of the loyalist party.

Unfortunately, he was ousted from his position of power in the loyalist ranks due to a alcohol infused bout of scandals, leaving City 17 in shame. Before the news of his scandal reached the “new” Moscow, City 72, he was offered a position in his former homeland of Russia. He accepted, not missing out on this lucky second chance, and set off to become a simple Minister in Moscow.

His tenure as Minister did not last but a few short years. The Uprising in City 17 spread world wide, the men and women of earth tackling the Combine head to head in the streets of Cities across the land. Just a month into the major Uprising, Dr. Gordon Freeman, the face of the Uprising, met his death in an unknown manner. The Resistance however did not give up, the forces of Lambda descending upon City 17 like flies. Dr. Breen set his plan into motion, to bring him and his close City Administration into the Combine Overworld and in turn, give earth as a gift to the Combine.

In the coming days, the City Administrators around the world that were not chosen by Dr. Breen were killed in cold blood, Minister Avilov included. Earth was fed to the Dyson Sphere of the Combine, the inhabitants of the green dot tucked away to extinction. Thankfully, Avilov never lived to see the day humanity died.

How did your character die: Killed by an anti-citizen, caught by surprise.
Short (or detailed) character backstory:
Gabriel Klevin had a simple life, growing up in Istanbul, Turkey. He had loving parents just like most of the children in his area, he grew up with military ambitions, as his biggest dream was to join a prestigious officer school within Istanbul, which he succeeded after all. When the portal storms hit Istanbul, he lost his father, his biggest supporter in his dream. He was all alone in Istanbul, as his mother was long gone to the United States, leaving the family split in two with his sister. Gabriel Klevin was doing perfectly well in the officer school, then the invasion happened.

After the ascension he was located in City 50, his living area pre-invasion, he lived there decently, trying to get a living out of everything he could do, then after a while he was forced to relocate to City 24, District 43. After his arrival, he decided to socialize with people to find out about his surroundings, the first person he spoke to was Felix Poelking, he remembered this name until his, eventual death. After searching for a job for weeks, he decided to work in a store called "Siemens", where he worked under Elias Siemens until his enlistment within the Civil Protection was accepted.

The moment he was enlisted, the antlion hordes were attacking the district, and he did not have much time to familiarize himself with the force, he was given a weapon after 3 days of recruitment, then immediately put up to work as a HELIX unit, stabilizing unit continuosly due to the constant antlion attacks to the District, during these attacks, he lost his arm due to an outland biotic attack, which made sure to let him hate vortigaunts until his death.

After the eventual fall of District 43, he was transferred to District 8 (or whatever I forgot), where he was invited to join the XRAY squad, he immediately accepted this offer as he had dreams on catching every single outland biotic he could find, he familiarized himself with interrogations and torture tactics as he was watching his colleagues continuosly.

When he was transferred to Industrial 24, he had mental breakdowns continuosly as he was losing his friends in the force day by day, he wasn't being controlled and it eventually led to his death, he was dealing with the Rhea Ilyava and Dave McAllen case, and wanting to finish the case as fast as possible, he responded to a Dispatch call telling the units there was an anti-citizen in a building, he responded immediately as he thought he could've found a relation to Dave McAllen, then he was ambushed and killed by that anti-citizen, miserably.


Character's biggest dream: Succeed his dreams to become a soldier, enlisting within Overwatch Transhuman Arm, living as much as he can.

Black Market Dealer associated with the Nightingales, supplying the rebels with weapons and other supplies.

How did your character die:
Demetrius passed away by getting shot in the middle of his forehead during an interrogation after not budging in and giving information to Civil Protection officers.

Short (or detailed) character backstory:
Demetrius was a double agent rebel at first, working for both the Civil Workers Union and the underground, during his time helping people, he eventually got contacted by the Nightingales, to be their middle-man, selling guns and other necessities to the people underground, with a difficult role comes a difficult responsibility.
Then he had met Karl, a Vortigaunt with many ambitions, many plans and a great vision to save the underground resistance to make it organized, efficient, and finally achieve something. Though, these plans were cut short, when the kitchen got raided and Demetrius lost almost all of his friends. When he showed up to the site after the sweep, the bloodbath, seeing all of his comrades dead, or captured, Demetrius' mental state had gone the lowest that it has ever been

After that incident, he wanted to take revenge. He planned an attack with some of his new associates, then ended up getting captured.
