It looks like you care more about scripts and credits than roleplay.
My character's survival is dependent on food scripts. Please don't be stupid.
I like this system a lot more than the old one as well so your statement of nobody liking this system is wrong.
We can't all play the server actively enough to realize how stupid this is.
Finally, as I said before, just ask CPs to open it and it takes them 5 minutes to organize a PT and open it.
And five minutes to shut it down because they're too bored to wait around for rations to actually be DONE before closing the RDT. Also, I had to ask at least 10 different CPs to turn on rations before they, indeed, turned on rations. Half of them just said "That's too bad." and then walked away.
And finally, as a citizen, you are supposed to be starving all the time.
I thought you'd be done the first time you said "Finally".
This isn't City 45. This is City 24, a prestigious, luxurious city which caters to and encourages loyalism. The one thing you AREN'T supposed to be is starving all the time. Even in City 17, citizens show no signs of malnutrition and you're allowed to be built as hell if you damn well please. So the "muh malnourished citizen" meets the same fate it has always met: falling flat on its face.
Even if this argument were not indicative of your inexperience playing this server, it still shows off support for the most common cause of death for City RP servers; "muh dystopia". When dystopian oppression becomes over-the-top and aggressive so as to go beyond what we're shown in Half-Life, and, more importantly, to make RP less fun and engaging. I believe we pull off the dystopian setting perfectly well WITHOUT starving citizens in a city where you AREN'T supposed to starve citizens.
If you want citizens to focus less on getting food, then you should not constantly deny them food. As it stands, people want to play LESS because while they're offline, they don't starve or dehydrate. I've seen nonstop complaints in-game about how the rations are almost constantly offline. So you are in the minority of people who enjoy the ration timetable system, which wasn't necessary to begin with since we already have a time gate between rations.
You're joking.
Rations arent your only source of food. They arent your only source of income either.
Oh, you're serious.
Maybe this system has been put in place to encourage people like you to get creative and not just grind rations all day.
Man, you're funny.
Theres several places you can buy food from, theres several ways you can obtain legal or illegal currency.
Hun, I didn't mean to break this to you, but I can't really buy food without legal currency, and I can't really get legal currency without workshifts and rations.
Rations are just under half the average citizen's income, the other half being workshifts. Your primary source of income is meant to be working, yes, but workshifts are finicky and when there aren't workshifts, there needs to be another way for me to feed myself. Rations exist for that exact, particular reason, and the money they provide sustains me and my character's needs when workshifts are unable to.
Their unfettered existence takes a significant load off the CWU's shoulders, and they no longer need to force workshifts or otherwise overwork themselves, and CPs do not fear punishment for mishandling ration timetables.
When you timegate rations and set the means of obtention to an unreliable source (CPs), citizens have no reliable income and therefore no reliable source of nourishment or necessary tools. It becomes an arbitrary roadblock preventing citizens from having the monetary or nutritional means to carry out any tasks reliably.
And I will say this again because you did not hear it last time; Rations just straightup do NOT need to be timegated any further. They already have a 2 hour cooldown, delegating them to an hourly distribution manually by way of CPs is unnecessary and serves no purpose but to create ration lines, which tend to be more sporadic and short as they were before, creating no real difference at the cost of most peoples' enjoyment of the server.
