Implemented Turn the ration terminal on and don't turn it off

I bet if units got thrown some 99's for forgetting they would start to remember. Mayhaps we should start with this.
:angrycop:

I don't mind the effort to actually make rations a bit more... thematic by inspiring lines via opening and closing them at specific times. You don't die or take damage from a lack of food and honestly even if you are downright starving the penalties are pretty meager. Mostly neutral on this, though I do like seeing the lines form.
It seems a tad unnecessary to force CPs to conform to this timetable through punishment. That's another thing I want to prevent; forcing the unwilling officers to conform to something they'd rather not conform to, that they shouldn't HAVE to conform to.

Why do you care about food, then?

I usually stop reading after I see someone attacking the person instead of their thoughts.
Such an easy excuse.

Anyway, I care about food because I don't want my character to starve. Even if there is no actual physical punishment for not eating, I tend to RP as though there is. Then there's the fact that I simply don't like the debuffs that come with dehydration and starvation. If I want to run a business, I can't very well do it with a constant debuff hanging over my skills.

Easy fix, i just remove the cp requirement.

Then rations can be turned on via the timetable without issue. I would rather try to fix the problem rather than just nuke the whole system.

Rations dont even fill you up, the system forces you to use stores anyway so... yeah.

They fill me up enough, and they give me the credits I need to get better things while I wait for workshifts to roll around. As long as rations are being rationed, that's fine.

Anyway, yeah, I can get behind this. Just make it more reliable and, if necessary, automatic, without punishing anyone.

IMHO we should just leave the thing open and adjust the ration timer instead if necessary - there are system in place to combat massive inflation and the tools exist for the CCA to adjust ration time IC'ly even via their PDA. This might work if the system was automated to replace the ration timer, but it isn't.

As long as you have the interests of citizens in mind and acknowledge that citizens will want their rations, for all the measly benefits they give, I'm good with what you're doing.

Massive support, I don't know why anyone would think this was a good idea to begin with when we have a timer you have to actively play for. There are people who don't have three hours of free time to spend on games daily and having rations closed for such prolonged periods of time makes getting any amounts of credit a pain.

There isn't even a good IC reason to turn the machine off either, unless there is civil unrest and it's a form of collective punishment.

Anyone who works in CMU/CWU relies on their rations to receive their paycheck.

I don't mind having to buy my own food or drink though, that's fine and I think it's for the best.

The queues will remain just less frequent, anytime there's a workshift rations gets stormed by people. It's not as if this queue is adding to RP either, it's just a line of people silently tapping W so they can press e on an entity and run off.

All I want is for CPS to actually abide by the timetable

If not, punishment MUST be handed.

We should not punish CPs for not wanting to sit around the RDT babysitting ration distribution. It's such a boring thing to force them to do.

After thinking about it, going to move this into accepted until some dev work has actually been done to automate the whole process we were trying to go for without the need for CPs.
