Steam Name: Vewoth
SteamID: https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198045892878/

Name of the Admin you were banned by: Rabithunter
How long is the ban for?: 9 months.
The reason you were banned?: Creating multiple of the same characters, failRP
Why do you wish to be unbanned?: False reasons for ban.
Do you have any picture or video evidence to support your reason?: No, I do not.

Were there any witnesses who can help in this appeal?: (List the steam and/or character names of them or tag them) No, there are not.

I do not have multiple of the same characters. I have three different characters. I would post a screenshot of them, but I can't access the server. I also have never committed fail rp. I have a good roleplay experience on the server with several people. The single incident that the admin banned for failRP was when a random civi and I were talking about a scanner drone and the oppressive combine, and how something should be done to send a message, so I climbed to the top of the CP Nexus and used the machine gun to blow up the scanner. I did not disconnect, but tried to outrun the CP. I was frozen by an admin and shot to death, and then dragged somewhere and executed, but I didn't complain about it. Later I asked the admin why I was frozen, when I accessed the Nexus rooftop and machine gun in a legitimate way. They asked a legitimate question: "why did you do that?" I said: "For action RP. I accessed the roof and Nexus fairly" and ICly. Then, in the middle of typing up a second response for them, they banned my character while I was trying to type. At this point, I had only said one sentence, and it was the above. I didn't complain again, and decided to just take the high ground and delete the character, without making any complaints about the frozen character or him being banned before I could explain myself. So I created three more characters, all different, different descriptions and different names, that I could play on. None were similar.

If I did do anything wrong, I'm new to the server. Please consider at least upgrading this to a warning but removing the ban, if anything. I don't want to create any waves, but this is just flat out wrong and ridiculous at this point.

Thank you for your time,

Vewoth

I'll post some evidence that was put on Discord and @Rabithunter will know more about this than I do, he also probably has more stuff to post generally.

Though looking at one of the photos that were posted, you recreated a character that was charbanned roughly an hour later with the exact same name, which wouldn't be allowed due to PK/NLR rules as you wouldn't have knowledge of that character anymore.

Also, this was deemed somewhat as powergaming, but I personally lack the context of this.

You may respond to the above and Rabithunter will give their own response as witnessed the events from the looks of it. Do please unbold your answers as well, so it's easier for the staff to read.

For the powergaming: We were about to roll and play through that, and then the server restart happened. That was the initial /me and I was waiting for the player's response and a roll before proceeding. The fact that was posted as evidence for powergaming is telling me that whoever posted it is trying to create a fake narrative. I don't know the name of the other player, but maybe Rabithunter does. They would be a witness. Saying that it is powergaming is a total misrepresenting of what was going on. I even returned after the restart to see if the other player would return and we would finish roleplaying the scenario. But after seeing this, yet another false claim, I am almost certain now that there is a fake narrative here.

I did create another character with the same name after death. I did not know this was against the rules, since I planned to play with NLR, and I assumed that the character ban was to prevent access to inventory items and enforce a strict and realistic NLR. If that's the case, I understand going forward. But since I'm a new player to the server, I think that a warning, not a 9 month ban, is more appropriate. This whole thing seems completely out of proportion.

Without knowing the admin, any just looking at this from my side, I'd be tempted to say that this person thought they could just essentially perma-ban without permabanning a new player, throw some shitty evidence and create fake narrative, pile on some baseless claims, and they probably didn't expect me to create an appeal on the forums. Wouldn't be surprised if they looked to see if I was an established member prior to banning, since it wasn't immediate (wanting to make sure they could get away with something this cheap without any consequences).

Thanks for the reply Votton. And apologies on the bold text, I copied and pasta'd the format and I think it kept the bold text when I typed through.

In HL2RP Serious RP essentially when a character gets PKd/charbanned, it's treated as permanent death of that character along with anything you remember of that character such as the name, backstory and all that. The idea is to start a new story essentially with your new character (Including a new name and bio) and that character can technically go the same path such as the rebel path but you won't remember anymore the people you interacted with in the past life or anything that character did generally. It is probably different to what you are used to, so I just wanted to clarify it as the server tries to take more the realism path than the traditional NLR you've experienced elsewhere.

For the rest will leave Rabithunter to reply.

EDIT:
NLR is a whole separate thing in Willard and they are only used in rare situations where a player's death was caused by a bug for example, otherwise, it's pretty much a permanent death. There is a section on the forum too to appeal permanent deaths if you for example were killed due to a bug or the PK itself didn't follow the relevant guidelines for that: https://willard.network/forums/threads/pk-policy.502/ (This is for preventing people from RDMing pretty much)

Hello! As you can see, Votton has already displayed some of the evidence on my behalf.

I will point out from the start, that you haven't been banned for 9 months as you stated.

As for the fail RP, you firstly made two of the same character and as previously stated, this is against the rules. When it comes to NLR, there are various facets surrounding the rules and who can make the decision at the time. In case this has not been pointed out, the rules can be found on the following link:

Moving on, you climbed a ladder during an RP scenario and took control of a mounted civil protection gun, shooting off into the distance and taking down a scanner unit. This in question is fail RP, as ICly you wouldn't know how to control the weapon and use it. Further more, you jumped from the building, from a three story height and landed on the floor, displaying no injuries. This again displayed to me a failure in RPing anything in the slightest.

Thirdly you did have an RP situation with a player and pulled out your keys, attempting to jab it into their throat in an attempt to kill them. The initial RP was fine, but your /me to state how exactly the other would react is a power game move, and not for you to decide upon. You made your roll and they made theirs, the two being six points apart. For me this was unnescessary, given how the roles were not too far spaced from one another.

Last but not least, there was also an issue with another character being amputated after your actions set in motion a series of events. This was done shortly after your character (The initial one) was PK'd and your subsequent remake snitched on the character in question. This again is failRP.

I can understand how you may not have known the rules and for that I will reduce the ban down to three days. this allows you time to read over the rules and on your return will know better on how we perceive our serious RP.
