I have to be honest lads; given some of the attitudes over this issue I'm surprised you're still getting staff members trying to provide a more satisfying ending for you. In most other communities throwing the sort of shit you have at the people meant to provide for you would have gotten you a ban and any chance of a follow-up trashed.

I'm not saying you have to eat shit from staff if they're wrong but these are the people trying to help. There's a line where you have to take a breath and accept that if you don't play ball, you're the ones who are going to come out worse. Blowing up on them isn't going to get you a win, its going to make you (ie; the OSF) come off worse.

Not everyone is going to like your faction, and there's some pretty valid reasons for that when you consider what else has been axed in the time period that the OSF was allowed to continue on and the stupid shit that was happening even back in the C2 plotline - so things like this (ie; these arguments) aren't going to change minds, they're going to make people more likely to see the faction and its members as something that shouldn't be kept around.

Jesus Christ, I don’t care whether or not people like us. They have their opinions, and no matter what they aren’t gonna get changed. I care that we got completely shafted as characters.

You’ve been missing the point. And whether they want to admit it or not, they needed someone to not care and just call them out on bullshit. I was crass, crude, and out of line, but I was saying shit that needed to be heard, and discussing it calm and rationally got me swept under the rug with a locked thread.

I fully agree that it's needed to be heard. But there's one difference in point to be made with respect, but you were exploding in that thread and the GMs were well aware of the thread. That's why Cengiz and such came in to address it.

Being liked is an integral part of diplomacy. If you can't get people to like you, then people are less likely to listen. But that's not really the issue.

Like what you said to Robert which was uncalled for, you owe him an apology.

The GMs apologised and I most certainly do in the way that event transpired, and Hayden knows about it, but that doesn't give you the right to go off the way you did.

The OSF characters who were in the expo, or just in the faction in general, are not all destined for death. Considering I’m the one who set the BOLs, and the OCIN code provided, the primary goal is to detain you; along with the CP faction lead forwarding these same directives to the rest of the forces I’m not sure if anything changed since I attached the notes and BOLs, but NO ONE has been declared as an anti-citizen as of now. Obviously, I cannot tell you about what other fates are lined up for your characters as I don’t know, but this is as it stands officially.

No one is losing their character so far, if they haven’t died already.

The BOL thing changed
 
I have no idea what's happened here, but after some reading I've seen some people complaining about OSF. From what they were before I can understand the hate and backlash to the handling of the faction. That's all well and fair, but what I don't get is the fact that they didn't like the ending to an event.

I don't know the gist of what happened in the event or why people are mad, but if you didn't like the outcome of an event then take that in character. Use it to fuel character development rather than putting your anger elsewhere. Half-Life RP is in a grimdark setting and things are rarely supposed to go well for anyone at all, Combine included. Which is why I think the anger shouldn't be directed towards OOC factors but taken IC, perhaps that's what the intention of the ending was.

If you feel betrayed, if you feel angry and if you feel no longer cared about then try to remember that there's always a chance for redemption in a character sense. If you don't want to play that character anymore then that's understandable. However, some people don't get the character arc they want and that's ok, and just because you're in a faction doesn't omit you from some sort of character vulnerability.

I will say I do not condone the shutting down of the thread, but I have heard that there was some pretty uninviteful things being thrown around, and for the sake of not having that continue then perhaps setting up a meeting with staff or the like would be way more fruitful than arguing on a forum.

'If you do go back to the City by the end of the Expo, you will not need a new name nor ID. Infact, it will be the same and no BOL/AC tag will be given as per the original plan before the event went as it did. Essentially means you keep your char, its name, its identity, its story, its money.'

This hasn’t been communicated to any of the Overwatch Forces, so as I said, can’t comment. Only stating things as they stand currently

I am trying to understand but cannot, if you dont like something then just dont do the thing.
