What was your rp experience the first time you played hl2rp?

some server in 2009 or something, one of the oldies

there would be popup servers every day with a decent playerbase, all had weird facets, i was younger then
still had fun.

Nebulous Cloud.
I got PK'd by a female reb because some dude lead me to their base.
I stopped playing for like a month before returning lmao.
 
First server I played was Singularity, based ahh server fr fr. then I got bored and got banned for mass ERP

first HL2RP server i tried was landis. as you could probably tell already it was not a very nice experience
 
I started a long time ago on Lemonpunch and found myself having a blast on it. Especially once I got my CP whitelist. I took a break though and when I returned it seemed to go from a few minges to near completely overrun with them, plus the staff seemed to not care much by the end and there was always drama between admins(it was not long before the server would shut down).

Before all of that I did a lot of serious San Andreas Multi-player RP. Kinda shifted my time between Gmod rp and LSRP until the latter finally shut down. Willards been my number one choice since then ;D

I don't know why HL2RP seems to trump all other forms of serious Gmod RP in terms of quality but it just works. I wanted to try out stuff like 1942RP, but from what I've seen most of the servers are full on cringe.

Plus, Serious RP with in game voice chat has never felt right to me.
 
Flashback to 2021, I was playing GMOD and became bored, so I looked at the multiplayer tab, every favorited server I had shut down (Rest in Peace, Cinema Gamemode), but I was heavily focused on playing at least one server.
So I chose Impulse HL2RP, it was running on C24 at the time, so I walked out of the train station, walked past the Park, and then immediately noticed someone using a cleaver on a corpse.

Blah blah blah, timeskip to a specific character kidnapping me and a few other players, Tony Macaroni, trapping us inside of their apartment in the second block, trying to feed us some weird stuff.
That was fun as hell, and I even developed a special place in my heart for C24.
 
My first HL2 RP Experience started in Nebulous Cloud (Formerly Lemonpunch from what I heard) back in 2018. I didnt get the appeal of the game mode but that was partly my fault since all I did was walk around, bench rp and never initiate any form of RP on my end. After 2 days of that, I left and considered it boring.

I only started getting into HL2RP a year later in 2019. Instead of repeating the same mistakes, I did the opposite and started to actually interact as well as roleplay.

It was great, I mostly played as a rebel/anti-civvie with some time in Union Medical and Civil Workers Union. The hours I spent with the players I roleplayed with was enjoyable.

But that started to go downhill as more players begin to focus more on OOC hangouts and script whoring (Mostly rebels and civvies since we all had a crafting system) rather than actual roleplay. With the amount of OOC problems and drama, Circle jerking (ESPECIALLY THIS ONE), Gate keeping with certain factions, and overall detachment of roleplay; I eventually gave up and left in the mid 2020.

Still, the server gave me a good taste of HL2 RP that I've been craving since.
 
A small server three or four years ago that never got above a playerbase of 10. Server kept trying to revive itself by doing weird events and map switches, including one where they just dropped a bunch of rebel loot all over the map like a crossbow and deagle. Ended up as vice admin when they were on one of the City 8 maps because I was the only one working in their equivalent of CMU and I knew a guy who knew the owners.
 
first server i did was landis, very bad experience.
 
I mostly went from one server to another. I spend some time at Lemon Punch HL2RP but i wasn't as invested back then. I then went to PERPHEAD RP, but after a while i grew annoyed with the often times toxic behavior of some players and the "GTA like grind" mindset. I then joined a french rp server and stuck with them until it's closer.
