You are a citizen. You attend a workshift but somehow are kidnapped by @Corpu during the shift. You, as an asset of the combine, did not succeed to book out from work and have therefore gotten your credits, loyalty points and trust withdrawn from the citizen record for evading your duty and taking government property with you: a workers uniform and hammer.
I lift my hat that the community latched onto this trend early and taught me through a controllers perspective by being DoB on how the mechanics that are being praised by the WEF are oppressive.
There is an argument that the gamemode should not actually be dystopia. But when being almost perfectly one with platform for escapism, it allows real experiment scenarios that enable you to simulate difficult to become roles and enabling a top down perspective on how it unravels with real people.
This thread is for drawing parallels from your experience with the trend and sharing your unique findings from the roleplay you have had so far.
The great reset is about a modern cyberpunk world where people live in a digital society that is controlled by an elite behind a software that determines the lives of people through digital currencies and credit/social/loyalty points.
All actions are tracked to the extent of 1984 where your words and actions are always being tracked and graded to determine your right for public services.
Willard achieves this by having a traceable digital currency and trust score systems in play with institutions to utilize the data, while having a conglomerate elite that resource manage where you can hustle and buy groceries as a citizen.
All of this is withdrawable at the click of a controllers PDA if they find an anomaly they don't like - which gives you the motto of owning nothing.
You cannot own an apartment, store or item. You can only buy and consume with your pay check money from your oppressor. To nomads you're essentially nothing but a slave, and stealing from you is practically just stealing from the Combine - because you didn't own anything to begin with.
